Itinerary
Day 1 - Berlin
Welcome to Berlin – we arrange your transfer to the hotel and then give you time to unwind. In the afternoon we share practical information, either in person or via the noticeboard at reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
We delve into Berlin on a guided panoramic tour, taking in the historic centre, Museum Island, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, lively shopping streets and peaceful parks. We pause at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum. In the afternoon you can join an optional excursion to Potsdam and its palaces.
Day 3 - Berlin - Copenhagen
This morning you have free time in Berlin. At 11:30 am we depart north, reaching Rostock to board the 3:30 pm ferry. The Baltic Sea crossing to Denmark takes nearly two hours – relax aboard the modern ship. On arrival we travel through scenic landscapes, reaching Copenhagen by evening.
Day 4 - Copenhagen
This morning we enjoy a panoramic tour with a local guide, highlighting Copenhagen’s quality of life, sustainability and culture. By coach and on foot we see the Little Mermaid, Nyhavn harbour with its colourful historic buildings, the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, Town Hall Square and the Tivoli Park area. The afternoon is free for you.
Day 5 - Copenhagen - Jönköping - Vadstena - Stockholm
We depart for Elsinore, famed for Hamlet, where Kronborg Castle stands. We then take a short ferry – about 20 minutes – to Sweden. Travelling past large lakes and lush forests, we reach Jönköping, a modern small city beside a vast lake, where you have time to explore and have lunch. We continue to Vadstena, a picturesque lakeside town known for its old houses and a grand fourteenth century castle converted into a monastery. We then continue to Stockholm, arriving in the evening – a beautiful city in the Baltic archipelago linked by bridges and ferries, rich in history and striking architecture with a deft blend of modernity and tradition.
Day 6 - Stockholm
We set out on a panoramic tour of Sweden’s capital, spread across 14 interconnected islands. We visit Gamla Stan – the city between bridges – with Stortorget and the Nobel Prize Museum, the Cathedral and the Royal Palace, and when possible we take in superb views from the Fjällgatan viewpoint. Afterwards you have free time to explore – we recommend the museums and parks – and you can opt to visit the City Hall and the Vasa Museum.
Day 7 - Stockholm
After breakfast our journey concludes – we hope you depart with wonderful memories.
