Set off from Berlin and finish in Helsinki over nine days – a mix of big hitting capitals, storybook towns and Baltic crossings. You’ll delve into Berlin’s icons – Museum Island, the Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate – with time to add Potsdam if you fancy. Cross to Copenhagen for colourful Nyhavn, the Little Mermaid and royal squares, then roll through Sweden’s lake country via Elsinore’s Kronborg Castle to Stockholm’s Gamla Stan and viewpoints. Sail overnight through island dotted seas to Finland, calling at Turku and seaside Naantali, before wrapping up in Helsinki with a boat trip to the UNESCO listed Suomenlinna fortress.

Day 1 - Berlin
Welcome to Berlin. We arrange your transfer to the hotel and share practical information in the afternoon – either in person or via the noticeboard at reception – then you have free time.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
We delve into Berlin on a guided panoramic tour, taking in the historic centre, Museum Island, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, lively shopping streets and elegant parks, with pauses at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum. You can choose to join an optional visit to Potsdam and its palaces.
Day 3 - Berlin - Copenhagen
You have free time in Berlin this morning. At 11:30 a.m. we head north to Rostock to board the 3:30 p.m. ferry. The Baltic crossing to Denmark takes nearly two hours – we relax aboard a modern ship – before continuing through scenic countryside to arrive in Copenhagen at day’s end.
Day 4 - Copenhagen
This morning we take a panoramic tour with a local guide in Copenhagen, celebrated for quality of life, sustainability and culture. Travelling by coach with short walks, we see the Little Mermaid, Nyhavn harbour with its colourful historic houses, the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, Town Hall Square and the Tivoli area. The afternoon is free – you can explore at your own pace.
Day 5 - Copenhagen - Jönköping - Vadstena - Stockholm
We travel to Elsinore, the setting of Hamlet, where Kronborg Castle stands, then take a short ferry – about 20 minutes – to Sweden. We continue past broad lakes and lush forests to Jönköping, a modern small city on a large lake, where you have time to explore and find lunch. Our route then leads to Vadstena, a pretty lakeside town of old houses and a grand 14th–century castle later converted into a monastery, before we continue to Stockholm, arriving in the evening in this beautiful archipelago city linked by bridges and ferries.
Day 6 - Stockholm
We embark on a panoramic tour of Stockholm, a capital built on 14 islands. We explore Gamla Stan – the ‘city between bridges’ – with its main square, Stortorget, the Nobel Prize Museum, the Cathedral and the Royal Palace, and, when possible, take in the views from the Fjällgatan viewpoint. Afterwards you have leisure time to explore – you can visit museums and parks, or join optional visits to City Hall and the Vasa Museum.
Day 7 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry
You have a free day in Stockholm. In the evening we board a modern ferry for an overnight sailing to Finland, with accommodation in double en–suite cabins.
Day 8 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
As we reach Finland, we recommend heading to the deck at sunrise to admire the landscapes as we sail past the Åland Islands. After disembarkation you have time to explore Turku, a city with strong Swedish influence. We then continue to the neighbouring seaside town of Naantali, known for its charming wooden houses, before travelling on to Helsinki. After lunch we take a regular public ferry to the Suomenlinna Islands, home to the impressive sea fortress guarding the maritime approach – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You have time to wander among the islands linked by small pedestrian bridges, linger by the fortress walls and savour superb views over the Baltic, before we return to Helsinki by boat and transfer to the hotel.

You have a free morning in Finland’s capital to uncover some of the most appealing corners of this modern seaside city.
