Day 1 - Berlin
On arrival in Berlin, we’ll transfer you to your hotel where you’ll have some free time to settle in and begin exploring at your own pace. In the afternoon, you can find useful information about the tour’s start displayed on the notice boards in the hotel reception area.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Berlin
Today we explore Berlin, Germany’s dynamic capital, accompanied by a local guide. From the coach, we’ll see key sights including Museum Island, the Television Tower, the city centre’s main shopping streets, the old cathedral damaged in World War II, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, and the city’s extensive parks. We’ll pause to visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, two significant reminders of Germany’s 20th-century history. The afternoon is yours to explore independently. Early evening, we provide a transfer to the lively Kantstrasse district.
Day 3 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
Today we travel through forested landscapes to Dresden, a city celebrated for its remarkable architecture and rich artistic heritage, making it one of Germany’s most popular destinations. You will have time to explore some of its impressive palaces and enjoy lunch at one of the many local restaurants or cafés. Later, we continue to the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague. We head straight to the bustling Old Town Square, perfect for your first experience of the city’s lively atmosphere. You are free to dine at one of the numerous restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian, before we return to the hotel for the night.
Day 4 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often hailed as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our local guide will take us on a panoramic tour, showcasing the city’s most significant landmarks. We will visit Prague Castle, with admission included, to admire its historic and architectural splendour. Following the castle tour, we will enjoy a relaxing boat ride along the Vltava River. The afternoon is yours to discover Prague at your own pace.
Day 5 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We’ll set off early and travel to Bavaria, arriving in Munich around midday. You’ll have free time to explore the historic city centre at your own pace and enjoy lunch independently. In the afternoon, we continue into Austria and arrive in Innsbruck, nestled in the heart of the Alps. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to wander through the charming Old Town and the famous Golden Roof area. There will also be time for dinner in this atmospheric part of the city.
Day 6 - Innsbruck - Salzburg
Today, we visit the Swarovski Museum, home to the world-famous crystal manufactory. We’ll explore the stunning gardens and discover the craft behind these exquisite creations. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to wander through the historic centre of Innsbruck at your leisure. Our journey then continues along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a renowned Tyrolean town famous for its ski resort and the prestigious Hahnenkamm alpine ski race. We’ll arrive in Salzburg by the end of the day.
Day 7 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
We begin the day exploring Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, renowned for its beautifully preserved Renaissance and Baroque architecture set beneath the commanding presence of the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Afterwards, we travel through picturesque lakes and mountains to reach St Wolfgang, a well-known Austrian pilgrimage destination. Our journey continues to Traunkirchen on the shores of Lake Traunsee, where we take a included cruise to view four castles along the lake before disembarking in Gmunden. In the evening, we arrive in Vienna to conclude the day’s travel.
Day 8 - Vienna
Today, we’ll take a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide, exploring its grand avenues, elegant palaces, expansive parks and lively city centre. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to discover the city at your leisure. In the evening, we’ll provide a transfer to Grinzing, a historic wine-growing district now within the city, famed for its traditional taverns where you can enjoy dinner independently.
Day 9 - Vienna
After breakfast, your tour concludes in Vienna. You will have time to gather your belongings and prepare for your onward travel, taking with you the memories of your journey through central Europe.
