Day 1 - Bangalore to Shravanabelagola & Hassan
We collect you from your Bangalore hotel or the airport for the drive to Hassan – about 200 kilometres and around 4 hours. En route, we visit Shravanabelagola, a major Jain pilgrimage centre, to see the 58 feet monolithic statue of Gommateshwara Bahubali on Vindhyagiri Hill. We ascend the hill to view this remarkable statue, carved from a single block of granite, and enjoy wide views over the surrounding countryside.
On arrival in Hassan, we check you in and leave time to unwind. In the evening, you can explore the town at your own pace – cafés, local markets and cultural landmarks – or simply relax at the hotel. Overnight in Hassan.
Day 2 - Belur, Halebid & Bangalore
After an early breakfast in Hassan, we set out for Belur and Halebid, returning to Bangalore later in the day – a journey of about 250 km, around five hours by road. In Belur, we visit the Chennakeshava Temple, a hallmark of Hoysala craftsmanship with its intricately carved pillars and sculptural detail.
We then continue to Halebid to explore the Hoysaleswara Temple, celebrated for its remarkable stonework and panels depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. If you wish, you may also visit Kadareswara Temple, Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Ishvara Temple, Koravangala Temple, Lakshmi Devi Temple and Hulikere Pond. After the visits, we drive back to Bangalore.
