Madurai & Rameshwaram Pilgrimage

Arrive in Madurai, where our representative will meet you at the airport and arrange your transfer to the hotel. Standard check-in is from 2:00 pm – if a room is ready earlier, we’ll organise an early check-in for you, subject to availability. Settle in and refresh before we head out to explore.We visit the Meenakshi Amman Temple, a landmark of Dravidian architecture with intricate carvings and colourful sculptures, and witness the rhythm of daily worship. We then continue to Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace to admire its grand halls, arches and columns, followed by the Gandhi Memorial Museum to learn about Mahatma Gandhi’s life, teachings and role in India’s independence, including the principles of nonviolence and Satyagraha.In your free time, you may like to wander Madurai’s bustling streets and try classic Tamil Nadu dishes at a local eatery. In the evening, we return to the Meenakshi Amman Temple for the aarti ceremony – a captivating blend of lights, music and ritual. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive 170 kilometres one way to Rameshwaram, a revered pilgrimage centre. On arrival, we visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple, exploring its impressive corridors, sculptures and inscriptions, and observing the rituals performed by the priests. We then continue to Agni Theertham on the Bay of Bengal – you may choose to take a ritual dip here if you wish. Later, we visit Dhanushkodi to see the coastal ruins and beach. We return to Madurai in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, standard hotel check-out is at 11:00 am – we’ll assist with your check-out and arrange your transfer to Madurai Airport. Our representative will meet you at the hotel and help with your onward journey, bringing your time in Madurai to a smooth close.
