Rajkot to Gir National Park

We collect you from your hotel in Rajkot or from Rajkot Airport and drive to Gir National Park – 160 kilometres, around 3 hours – through Gujarat’s countryside. En route we stop in Junagadh, a historic city, to visit Mount Girnar, a sacred hill dotted with temples, where we take the steps to enjoy panoramic views over the plains and forests. We also visit the Mohabbat Maqbara, noted for its intricate carving and Islamic design. On arrival at Gir National Park we check in to the hotel, settle into the calm surroundings and look ahead to tomorrow’s wildlife experiences. We round off the day with dinner featuring local flavours. Overnight at the hotel.

We rise before dawn and set out on an early morning jeep safari in Gir National Park with experienced naturalists. We traverse dry deciduous forest and open grassland in search of the Asiatic lion – and keep watch for leopards, sambar, chital and a wide variety of birdlife.After the drive we return to the accommodation for a relaxed breakfast and time to unwind. You can spend the late morning at leisure or choose optional activities such as a nature walk or birdwatching to deepen your appreciation of Gir’s biodiversity.In the late afternoon we head back into the park for a second jeep safari, exploring a different zone. As the sun drops and the light turns golden, we keep cameras ready for memorable sightings. We return as night falls for dinner and time to share the day’s highlights with fellow travellers – perhaps around a bonfire or under a starlit sky. Overnight at the resort or jungle lodge.

After the safari, we check out of the hotel and drive back to Rajkot – a distance of about 160 km, taking roughly 3 hours. On arrival, we drop you at your hotel or Rajkot airport, where the tour concludes.
