Day 1 - Dublin
Welcome to Dublin. We will arrange your transfer to the hotel and you have free time to settle in. In the afternoon you will receive practical information – either directly from our team or via the noticeboard at reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Dublin
We begin with a panoramic tour of Dublin, Ireland’s peaceful capital. We stroll along the River Liffey, take in its parks, see the exterior of Trinity College and explore the lively streets of the city centre. The afternoon is free for you to continue discovering the city at your own pace. Please note – depending on our arrival time and daylight, this tour may run the previous afternoon.
Day 3 - Dublin - Powerscourt - Kilkenny - Cashel - Cork
We leave Dublin for nearby Powerscourt to visit its magnificent 18th century gardens (admission included) – admire the fountains, Japanese Gardens and the touching pet cemetery. We then continue to Kilkenny, where you have time for lunch and a stroll. Further south we pause at the Rock of Cashel (admission included), a medieval fortress that symbolises Ireland’s struggle against England. We reach Cork in the evening and you have time for a walk in the centre. Dinner is included.
Day 4 - Cork - Kinsale - Killarney - Limerick
We depart for Kinsale, pausing at Charles Fort for sweeping ocean views beside this 17th century stronghold. You then have time to explore Kinsale’s historic centre. We continue to Killarney, where you have time for lunch and a wander before we enjoy an atmospheric jaunting car ride through the National Park to Ross Castle, followed by a short lake cruise – both included. We make a brief stop in Adare, with its stone and thatched cottages and abbey ruins, before reaching Limerick by mid afternoon – time for you to explore the centre, visit the castle, stroll the river or browse the shops. Dinner is included.
Day 5 - Limerick - Cliffs of Moher - Galway
Today we visit Bunratty Folk Park (tickets included) to step back into Ireland’s past among traditional cottages and old market scenes, with a castle that evokes medieval life. We continue to Caherconnell, home to the Poulnabrone Dolmen – we might be lucky enough to see sheepdogs herding. Next we visit the dramatic Cliffs of Moher (admission included) – you can, if you wish, walk to O’Brien’s Tower. We cross the striking landscapes of Burren National Park and end the day in Galway.
Day 6 - Galway - Clonmacnoise - Dublin
We head to Cong, a picturesque village set amid lakes, to visit the ruins of the Royal Abbey and stroll around Ashford Castle. We then travel to Clonmacnoise to explore its Celtic monastic ruins (tickets and guided tour included). Afterwards we stop in Athlone – you have time for lunch and a stroll – before continuing to Dublin for an evening arrival. Please note – due to renovation work at Clonmacnoise, the visit will be shorter than usual.
Day 7 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
Early this morning we board the ferry to Wales – after a journey of around three to three and a half hours we arrive in Caernarfon, a seaside town dominated by its impressive castle – you have time for lunch and a stroll. We then continue to Liverpool for a short bus tour of the city. If you wish, you may visit the Beatles museum.
Day 8 - Liverpool - Stratford - Oxford - London
Today we explore central England. Our first stop is Stratford upon Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace – you have free time for lunch and to look around. Afterwards we travel to Oxford, renowned for its historic university and culture. We then continue to London, arriving in the evening.
Day 9 - London
After breakfast, our journey concludes – leaving you with wonderful memories.
