Day 1 - Dublin
Upon arrival in Dublin, we will ensure your transfer to the hotel, where you can settle in and enjoy some leisure time. Later in the afternoon, you can look forward to receiving all the essential information about the start of your tour. This information will be conveniently available on the boards located in the hotel reception area. Feel free to relax and explore the surroundings at your own pace until then. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Dublin
Today, we'll embark on a panoramic tour of Dublin, the tranquil capital of Ireland. Our journey begins with a leisurely stroll along the banks of the River Liffey, taking in the city’s picturesque parks and vibrant downtown streets. A highlight of the morning is a visit to the exterior of Trinity College, Ireland's prestigious university with a rich history. The afternoon is yours to explore Dublin at your own pace, whether that means diving into its cultural heritage, vibrant art scene, or lively shopping areas. Please note, depending on our arrival time in Dublin and available daylight, this tour might occur on the previous afternoon.
Day 3 - Dublin - Powerscourt - Kilkenny - Cashel - Cork
On the morning of the third day, we'll bid farewell to Dublin and set off for Powerscourt, located just a short drive away. Here, we will visit the splendid Powerscourt Gardens, a masterpiece of 18th-century design, widely regarded as among the finest in Ireland. Immerse yourself in the beauty of its fountains, the tranquil Japanese Gardens, and even a pet cemetery—admission to these enchanting gardens is included. Following our gardens tour, we'll continue to the lively town of Kilkenny, where you'll have the opportunity to savour a leisurely lunch and explore the vibrant local streets. We journey further south to the impressive Rock of Cashel—your entry is included here too—a majestic medieval fortress that stands as a powerful symbol of Ireland's long-standing resilience and history. By evening, we will arrive in Cork, Ireland's second-largest city. Here, you’ll have free time to wander the city centre, before we conclude the day with an included dinner.
Day 4 - Cork - Kinsale - Killarney - Limerick
We will set off for the charming coastal town of Kinsale, where a visit to Charles Fort awaits. Take in the breathtaking ocean vistas surrounding this 17th-century fortification. You'll then have some time to wander through Kinsale's historic centre, celebrated as one of the most picturesque seaside towns in Ireland. Our journey continues to Killarney, a popular location nestled in the heart of Ireland. Here, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and explore the town before embarking on a delightful Jaunting Car Tour through the National Park, taking in the gardens, lake, and the scenic view over Ross Castle from the lakeside (this excursion is included). To enhance the experience further, we'll take a short cruise to admire the lake's stunning surroundings. Next, we'll make a brief stop in Adare, famed for its quaint stone and thatched-roof cottages and the evocative ruins of an old abbey. By mid-afternoon, we will arrive in Limerick. You can explore the city's centre – perhaps visiting the castle, strolling along the river, wandering around the cathedral, or browsing the local shops. A lovely dinner awaits to conclude the day.
Day 5 - Limerick - Cliffs of Moher - Galway
Our adventure begins with a visit to Folk Park in Bunratty, where entry is included. This marvellous park offers a glimpse into Ireland's past, featuring traditional cottages, historic markets, and a castle that showcases medieval life. From here, we journey to Caherconnell to see the Poulnabrone Dolmen, an ancient portal tomb. With a bit of luck, we might even see sheepdog demonstrations, a fascinating display of traditional skills. Our next highlight is the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, where entrance is covered. These dramatic cliffs rise majestically over the ocean, and if you wish, you can wander to O’Brien’s Tower for a closer view. Our scenic route continues through Burren National Park, renowned for its striking landscapes. We'll conclude the day arriving in the vibrant city of Galway, ready to explore its lively streets and rich culture.
Day 6 - Galway - Clonmacnoise - Dublin
Today, we set out from Galway towards the picturesque village of Cong, nestled in a captivating lake region. Here, you'll explore the remnants of the Royal Abbey and enjoy a leisurely walk around the impressive Ashford Castle, a medieval fortress now transformed into a stunning hotel. Our journey continues to Clonmacnoise, where we'll delve into the fascinating Celtic monastic ruins, with a guided tour included to enrich your experience. We then head back to Dublin, arriving in the evening, where you can reflect on the day's discoveries.
Day 7 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
We'll embark on an early morning ferry crossing, taking us three to three and a half hours to reach the charming shores of Wales. Our adventure begins in Caernarfon, a captivating seaside town and UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its majestic castle. You'll have the opportunity to savour lunch and take a leisurely stroll, soaking in the historic atmosphere. Following our visit here, we travel onward to the vibrant city of Liverpool. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a brief bus tour of this dynamic World Heritage Site, known for having the UK's second-largest port. Are you keen on exploring The Beatles Museum during your free time?
Day 8 - Liverpool - Stratford - Oxford - London
On Day 8, we begin our exploration of central England with a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of the legendary playwright, William Shakespeare. Here, you'll have some free time to enjoy lunch and wander around this charming town, steeped in literary history. We then proceed to Oxford, a city famous for its illustrious academic heritage. Known for educating some of history's most influential figures – from monarchs to philosophers – Oxford offers a wealth of cultural and educational riches. We will continue our journey towards London, arriving in the evening, ready to immerse ourselves in the vibrancy of the capital.
Day 9 - London
This morning, we’ll embark on a tour of London, taking in iconic sights such as Westminster, the Houses of Parliament, the City, and the Thames. In the afternoon, you'll have leisure time with an optional excursion to the Thames Valley, where you can explore Windsor, home to the magnificent Windsor Castle. As evening falls, we’ll gather at Piccadilly for a stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho – areas celebrated for their vibrant nightlife, theatres, and entertainment options. Depending on your arrival, this evening programme might take place the previous day. After our exploration, we will return to the hotel by bus.
Day 10 - London
Today, you have the freedom to immerse yourself in the vibrant city of London. With a day entirely to yourself, explore at your own pace and uncover the city's iconic landmarks and hidden gems. Whether you're discovering historical sites, indulging in the many museums and galleries, or simply enjoying the lively markets and charming parks, London offers endless opportunities for exploration.
