Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Milan

Upon arrival in Milan, renowned as the fashion and design capital of the world, make your way to our accommodation, where you will meet the tour leader and the rest of the group at 3:00 PM in the reception area.

From there, we’ll make our way to the historic centre, where we will enjoy a walking tour passing the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, before ending at the vibrant Navigli district, a perfect spot to enjoy an evening out and experience Milan's best Aperitivo.

Meeting Point: Meet you tour leader at reception of your accommodation after check in at 3:00 PM. Check in is from 2:00 PM.

Please note: This tour is designed for younger travellers looking for a backpacker-style experience and to meet like-minded people. The average age on this tour is around 21 - 35, and we are unfortunately unable to take any travellers over the age of 39. Overnight: Milan

Day 2 - Milan to Lake Como, Bellagio & Varenna

Milan - Lake Como - Bellagio - Milan. In the morning, we will head to Como. After a 1 hour and 30-minute journey, we will arrive at Como, located on the lake's banks and surrounded by charming hills. Como is renowned as the birthplace of several notable historical figures, including scientist Alessandro Volta. It's also one of the most beautiful spots in Italy, with celebrities such as George Clooney known to live around the lake's shore. In Como, you will have leisure time to explore the various attractions, stroll through the streets, and visit historical monuments, stunning villas, and breathtaking sights.

Next, we will take a ferry across Lake Como to Bellagio, a quaint village perched on a long, hilly promontory between the lake's two southern branches. This elegant yet small town offers a delightful spot to unwind, with lovely views, stylish boutiques, gardens to explore, charming lanes, and a selection of restaurants and bars.

After visiting Bellagio, we'll board a ferry to Varenna, a picturesque village on Lake Como's eastern shore. Varenna's scenic lanes and old fishermen's houses provide the perfect backdrop for enjoying a gelato or cold drink while taking in the stunning views. We return to Milan for the evening, perhaps we'll had out as a group for a few drinks?

Day 3 - Milan to Florence

Milan - Florence. Today, you will have the morning at leisure to explore Milan, visit a museum, enjoy some food at a restaurant, or grab a coffee.

In the afternoon, we will head to the train station for our journey to Florence. Upon arrival, you will have the rest of the afternoon to explore the city. Climbing the Duomo is recommended for stunning city views (reservation required), or you can visit one of Florence's temporary exhibitions. You will then check in to your accommodation.

In the evening, you will meet your tour leader at 6 PM for a walking orientation tour of Florence, exploring the city’s iconic landmarks and rich traditions, including the renowned Gothic Cathedral and the historic Ponte Vecchio. The tour will conclude on one of Florence’s busiest streets, where we’ll visit a popular local bar known for serving the best aperitivo in town. Here, you’ll have the chance to interact with locals and fellow travelers while enjoying a drink or sampling food from the buffet.

Day 4 - Day Trip to Pisa & Cinque Terre

Florence - Pisa - Cinque Terre - Florence. This morning, we will have an early start as we make our way to Santa Maria Novella Train Station, where we will start our journey towards Cinque Terre by train. During the train journey, you will have time to interact with locals and learn about their way of life.

We will first visit Pisa, where you’ll have time to discover the Square of Miracles, featuring the magnificent Pisa Cathedral, the Baptistery, the historic Campo Santo, and the world-famous Leaning Tower. This will offer a good chance for some pictures, so don't forget your cameras.

We’ll visit the highlights of the Cinque Terre, including Riomaggiore, Manarola, and Vernazza. These stunning coastal villages are renowned for their breathtaking landscapes, scenic walking trails, stunning views, and inviting beaches. Before the day ends, you'll have the opportunity to unwind on the beaches of Vernazza or explore the town at your leisure. We will then head back to Florence at 8:00 PM.

Day 5 - Florence at Leisure

Today, you’ll have a full day at leisure to explore Florence. You can visit iconic monuments like the Florence Cathedral, Uffizi Gallery, or Ponte Vecchio, or wander through the charming streets and local leather markets. Alternatively, you can choose between a day tour to Siena, Cortona, and Montepulciano, or join The Grape Escape winery tour to explore Tuscany’s vineyards and enjoy wine tastings.

Day 6 - Venice Exploration

Florence - Venice. We begin our day with a high-speed train ride from Florence to Venice. After checking into our accommodation, we'll set off on a walking tour of Venice, where we'll discover its winding canals, iconic gondolas, bustling pigeons, and stunning churches. We will be able to see landmarks like St. Mark’s Square, the Cathedral, the Rialto Bridge, and the Palazzo Ducale.

This evening, you will have free time to explore Venice at your own pace. You may consider taking a gondola ride through the canals or find out how famous the carnival masks are made.

Overnight: Venice

Day 7 - Venice

Check out this morning is by 10 AM, but you can store your bags if you have some more time to explore. Alternatively, you can opt to join a half day tour to the islands of Murano and Burano. Afterwards, make your way to the airport for your onward flight. Safe travels!
