Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel where our guide will meet you to provide all the essential information about your stay. You can also find further details on the information board in the hotel reception. In the evening, we will take you to Via Cavour – a great way to start your Roman experience. Here, you’ll find a range of restaurants offering Italian, Indian, Chinese and other international cuisines to suit every taste.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll embark on a three-hour guided tour of Rome, combining a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride around the city. You’ll see iconic landmarks such as the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour concludes around 11:00 a.m. at Vatican City, where you may choose to join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we include a transfer to Trastevere, a vibrant neighbourhood known for its inviting restaurants and lively atmosphere, where you can enjoy dinner at your leisure. We’ll return to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today we leave Rome and travel north through picturesque scenery to Florence. Upon arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy sweeping views over the city. From there, we walk into the historic centre where, following some time for lunch, we take a guided tour with a local expert. We’ll visit key landmarks including the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria—Florence is truly an open-air museum. Afterwards, you have free time to explore at your own pace. The evening offers a variety of dining options, with many restaurants serving international cuisine nearby.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today we cross the Apennine Mountains, taking in the stunning mountain scenery en route to Venice. On arrival, we board a boat to cross the Giudecca Canal and reach the island itself. With a local guide, we explore the iconic St. Mark’s Square, the heart of Venice. Afterwards, we visit a Murano glass factory to see the traditional glass-making techniques still in use today. Later, you will have some time to explore Venice at your own pace. Accommodation is in the Mestre district.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice and travel to Austria, arriving in Innsbruck. Here, you can explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch in the Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we continue through scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a charming village renowned as a year-round ski resort, where you’ll have some free time to discover its alpine character. We then proceed to Salzburg, arriving late in the day. Please note that if the group is small, we may travel by train from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
This morning, we’ll explore Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. You’ll discover its beautifully preserved Renaissance and Baroque architecture, all set beneath the imposing Hohensalzburg Fortress. From there, we’ll journey through the scenic Austrian lakes and mountains to St Wolfgang, a well-known pilgrimage destination. Next, we continue to Traunkirchen, located beside the stunning Traunsee Lake, where we’ll take a cruise included in your tour. The boat trip offers views of four historic lakeside castles before disembarking in Gmunden. We then travel on to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide, taking in the city’s grand avenues, elegant palaces, expansive parks and vibrant centre. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. In the evening, we’ll transfer you to the Grinzing district, a historic wine-growing area now within the city, known for its traditional taverns. You’re free to enjoy dinner here in a charming atmosphere.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
We travel to Budapest, Hungary, arriving after approximately three hours on the road. Our first stop is the bustling Váci utca, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we embark on a scenic boat cruise along the Danube River, offering stunning views of historic Buda on one side and the vibrant city of Pest on the other. Following the cruise, we continue with a panoramic tour of Budapest, often called the “Queen of the Danube.” The afternoon includes some free time to explore independently. In the evening, you can choose to join an optional Hungarian cultural show with dinner included.
Day 9 - Budapest
After breakfast, our tour concludes, and you depart with many memorable experiences from your trip.
