We'll begin with a guided exploration, admiring the ambitious urban development that aims to transform Jeddah into a leading global city. A highlight of this endeavour is the Jeddah Tower, set to become the world's tallest building at over a thousand metres high. Our journey continues along the Corniche, where we'll enjoy scenic views and admire mosques perched by the sea. Here, we'll also witness the spectacular King Fahd Fountain, with water jets soaring over 300 metres, making it the highest of its kind in the world. A visit to the bustling fish market offers insights into the local culture, followed by a fascinating stop at Al Taybat International City, an exquisite architectural complex replete with history and ethnography museums.Midway through the day, we'll revisit the historic heart of Jeddah, entering through the prominent Bab Makkah. Day 3 - Jeddah - Medina
After breakfast, we depart towards the heart of Arabia's interior. Travelling on expansive highways through both desert and mountain landscapes, we reach the revered city of Medina, often referred to as “the luminous city.” Upon arrival around midday, we pause at a sizeable shopping centre at the city's entrance for lunch in its diverse food court, where you can choose according to your taste. Medina stands as an imposing historical landmark, one of the two holiest cities in Islam and a destination for millions of pilgrims every year. The city was previously closed to non-Muslims, and even now, a high level of respect for its residents and traditions is required, including modest clothing. Our exploration begins with a stroll around Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the immense Prophet’s Mosque, boasting 10 minarets and accommodating up to a million visitors. Built by the Prophet Muhammad himself, it is his resting place. Next, we visit Mount Uhud, a significant pilgrimage site where the Prophet’s forces famously battled against the Meccan army. Feel free to explore its expansive plain and ascend the mountain, but do so quietly out of respect for the many pilgrims. Continuing our journey through sacred history, we visit Quba Mosque, the site considered to be the first mosque in history, founded by the Prophet Muhammad in 622, though the existing structure is more recent. We then walk to the nearby garden and the well of Ethiq, where local tribes once came out to greet and offer water to the Prophet and his companions upon their arrival from Mecca. In the city centre, you’ll have some free time to explore shopping areas or, should you choose, visit the Hejaz Railway Museum, located in the old Ottoman train station. In the afternoon, we learn about the city’s past at the Al Madinah Museum. As dusk falls, we return to Al-Masjid an-Nabawi to witness once more the remarkable sight of thousands arriving for prayer, as the mosque illuminates beautifully against the evening sky. Dinner is included.
Day 4 - Medina - Al-Ula
Following breakfast, we continue our adventure, venturing into some of the world's most stunning desert landscapes. Our first stop is Khaybar, a historic site set within a volcanic terrain known for its breathtaking vistas. Khaybar was a significant Jewish settlement in the 7th century on the Arabian Peninsula, famously known for the Battle of Khaibar in 628 AD. During this historic clash, Muslim forces led by the Prophet Muhammad triumphed over the Jewish tribes. Here, we'll explore the historic fortress and enjoy a stroll through its picturesque oasis, with admission included.Amidst this dramatic desert scenery, our journey brings us to Al-Ula, an extraordinary natural open-air museum. The region boasts stunning rock formations, canyons, and ravines that rival the archaeological wonders carved by its ancient inhabitants. On our arrival, we'll marvel at the iconic Elephant Rock (Jabal Al Fil), a remarkable 52-metre-high rock that, as its name suggests, is shaped like an elephant. Dinner will be provided as we settle into this awe-inspiring region.
Day 5 - Al-Ula - Tabuk
Today, our exploration of the Al-Ula region begins with a guided visit to the remarkable site of Hegra, also known as Madain Saleh. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this location—often referred to as "the Other Petra"—showcases the awe-inspiring Nabataean culture through its tombs, intricately carved into the rugged desert landscape, evoking a sense of mystery and ancient wonder. Following this, we will enjoy an included lunch. The afternoon provides you with free time to wander Al-Ula's charming commercial streets and soak in the tranquil ambiance of its stunning oasis. Later, we'll set off on our journey to Tabuk, where a delightful dinner awaits.
Day 6 - Tabuk - Riyadh
We begin our day with an early morning transfer to the airport for a flight to Riyadh – a brief journey taking just over an hour and a half. Upon arrival, we delve straight into exploring the city. Our first stop is the National Museum, an expansive and informative setting where we can immerse ourselves in the rich history, culture, and art of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Next, we visit the Masmak Fortress, an imposing structure that offers insights into Riyadh's fascinating transformation over the last century. Afterwards, you will have the chance to explore the bustling neighbourhood, boasting vibrant souks and a lively commercial atmosphere. You may opt to enjoy lunch at a shopping centre, selecting from a diverse range of cuisines. In the evening, we experience the grandeur of the Al Rajhi Mosque, Riyadh's largest mosque, renowned for its stunning Andalusian-style architecture. Here, we observe a prayer session and gain an enlightening introduction to Islam. Our day concludes with a visit to Riyadh City Boulevard, a lively hub teeming with attractions, international dining options, live performances, and the captivating spectacle of colourful fountains. You'll have free time to wander, dine, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere before we return to the hotel.
Day 7 - Riyadh
