Day 1 - Madrid, Exploring Merida & Transfer to Cordoba
Madrid – Merida – Cordoba. We depart Madrid heading west towards Extremadura, a region closely linked to the Spanish explorers of the New World. We arrive in Mérida, the capital of Extremadura and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its exceptionally preserved Roman legacy. During our time here, you can appreciate landmarks such as the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, as well as the Roman Bridge that still spans the Guadiana River. We enjoy free time before continuing south to Córdoba, once the capital of the powerful Islamic Caliphate. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 2 - Explore Cordoba & Transfer to Seville
Cordoba – Seville. Breakfast at the hotel. We enjoy a guided visit to Córdoba’s Mosque-Cathedral, a unique monument that reflects centuries of religious and cultural transformation. Afterwards, we stroll through the narrow, winding streets of the Jewish Quarter, one of the most atmospheric areas of the city. In the afternoon, we travel on to Seville, a journey of approximately two hours. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 3 - Seville City Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. This morning we take a panoramic and monumental tour of Seville, including entrance to the Cathedral - the second largest Catholic cathedral in the world after St Peter’s in Rome. We also visit the Barrio de Santa Cruz, traditionally associated with the legends of Carmen and Don Juan, as well as María Luisa Park and the iconic Plaza de España. The afternoon is at leisure for you to discover the city’s lively atmosphere, local cuisine and distinctive Andalusian character. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 4 - Ronda at Leisure & Transfer to Costa del Sol
Seville – Costa del Sol. Breakfast at the hotel. We drive south through a landscape dotted with traditional Andalusian villages, arriving in Ronda. Perched dramatically above a deep gorge, this historic town offers impressive views over the surrounding valley and mountain range. You have free time to explore before we continue to the Costa del Sol, one of Spain’s most important and cosmopolitan tourist regions. Afternoon at leisure. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 5 - Departure towards Granada
Costa del Sol – Granada. Breakfast at the hotel. We depart for Granada, the last capital of Moorish Spain until its fall in 1492. We visit the magnificent Alhambra complex and the Generalife Gardens, masterpieces of Islamic architecture that have inspired writers and artists for centuries, including Washington Irving. Accommodation at the hotel. In the evening, you may choose to attend an optional Flamenco Zambra show.
Day 6 - Granada to Madrid
Granada – Madrid. Breakfast at the hotel. We travel north back to Madrid. On arrival, your tour comes to an end.
