After lunch, we meet our local guide for an included visit to the remarkable Mosque–Cathedral, a landmark of both Islamic and Christian art. We then explore the Jewish Quarter, with its narrow lanes and flower‑filled patios – emblems of the city’s identity. You’ll have free time to wander at your own pace before we provide a transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 - Cordoba - Baena - Granada
After breakfast, we drive through vast olive groves to Baena, a town with Roman roots renowned for its high‑quality olive oil. We visit the Núñez de Prado Olive Oil Mill, set in an 18th‑century building, to learn about production and taste pan con aceite – bread with olive oil. We then continue to Granada for a guided visit of the Alhambra – admission and local guide included – a masterpiece of Islamic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch is included. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to visit the cathedral or wander the Albaicín neighbourhood for superb views of the Alhambra.
Day 3 - Granada - Nerja - Frigiliana - Malaga
We leave Granada to cross the Sierra Nevada, enjoying striking mountain scenery, then follow the Mediterranean along the Costa Tropical – a coastline with a mild microclimate that supports crops such as guava, mango and avocado, and formerly sugar cane. We stop in Nerja, a coastal town edged by impressive cliffs, before continuing to Frigiliana, one of Andalusia’s most beautiful white villages, with steep lanes and whitewashed houses. We then travel on to Málaga, capital of the Costa del Sol, known for its many museums, as Picasso’s birthplace, and for La Manquita – the unfinished cathedral. You’ll have time for lunch and to explore the city centre, or, if the weather allows, you can head to the beach for a swim.
Day 4 - Malaga - Puerto Banus - Setenil de las bodegas - Ronda - Jerez de la frontera
Leaving Málaga, we travel through the White Villages and the Andalusian mountains – one of the most scenic stages of the journey. We begin in Puerto Banús, Marbella’s glamorous marina known for its yachts and upmarket boutiques, then continue to Setenil de las Bodegas to see its striking houses built into the rock. Onwards to Ronda, a city perched above the dramatic Tajo Gorge. A typical lunch is included, after which you have free time to wander the historic streets, before we visit the bullring – one of Spain’s oldest and most monumental – with entrance included. We then continue to Jerez de la Frontera, where we’ll have time to stroll the historic centre and enjoy tapas in traditional tabancos.
Day 5 - Jerez de la frontera - El Puerto de Santa Maria - Cadiz - Seville
After breakfast in Jerez de la Frontera – renowned for its winemaking, equestrian culture and flamenco – we visit the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art (tickets included) to explore the Carriage Museum and watch the Andalusian horses in training. Before leaving Jerez, we make a short photo stop at the exterior of the Moorish Alcázar. We continue to El Puerto de Santa María, known for its fine wines and seafood, where we visit Osborne Wineries (tickets and tasting included). After some free time to enjoy the surroundings, we board a boat to Cádiz for a scenic crossing of around 30 minutes. In Cádiz – one of the oldest cities in Europe – you’ll have free time to visit the cathedral and wander the old town. Later in the afternoon, we cross the bridge towards Seville, arriving by the end of the day.
Day 6 - Seville
After breakfast we leave Seville for Italica – entrance and guided tour with a local guide included – an ancient Roman city where emperors Trajan and Hadrian were born. We explore the impressive amphitheatre, which once seated about 25,000 spectators, along with its baths and mosaics. We then continue to Palos de la Frontera, the port from which Columbus’s ships set sail in 1492, to visit the Monastery of La Rábida and the Wharf of the Caravels – entrance included – to view replicas of his vessels. You’ll have free time for lunch in Huelva. In the afternoon we travel along the Atlantic coast near Doñana National Park, known for its biodiversity, stopping in El Rocío to visit its sanctuary and enjoy views over Doñana. We return to Seville in the late afternoon.
Day 7 - Seville
This morning we set out on a guided tour of Seville, taking in the cathedral with its Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir, and the characterful neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the tour we include a relaxing boat ride on the Guadalquivir, offering panoramic views of the city from the water. In the evening you can choose to attend a flamenco tablao.
Day 8 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
We leave Seville and travel through the gentle hills and open pasturelands of Extremadura en route to Mérida. There, we include admission to the Archaeological Ensemble of Mérida – featuring the remarkably preserved Roman theatre and amphitheatre – a recognised World Heritage Site. You’ll have time for lunch and a stroll through the pedestrian historic centre, with plenty of restaurants and local character. We then continue into Portugal, stopping in Évora – another World Heritage Site – known for its whitewashed streets, Renaissance palaces and cathedral. We arrive in Lisbon in the evening.
Day 9 - Lisbon
In the morning, we set off on a panoramic tour of Lisbon – the Portuguese capital of seven hills, narrow alleys, iconic tiles and a distinct sense of saudade – including the Belém district, from which the great navigators set sail in the 15th century. The afternoon is yours to explore – you can make your way to Bairro Alto and its viewpoint, or opt for an excursion to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. In the evening, we return to the hotel from lively Restauradores Square, lined with bars and cafés.
Day 10 - Lisbon - Caceres - Madrid
We depart Portugal early, crossing the Alentejo region. We pause for coffee in Estremoz – a town known for its medieval castle and cobbled streets – before crossing into Spain.
