Day 1 - Barcelona
Welcome to your tour! Upon arrival in Barcelona, we will organise your transfer to the hotel, where you can unwind and enjoy some free time at leisure. In the afternoon, you will find all necessary information about the beginning of your tour on the information boards located at the hotel reception, ensuring you are well-prepared for the upcoming adventures. Spend your evening exploring the vibrant city atmosphere or simply relax and relish your first night in beautiful Barcelona. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Barcelona - Girona
On the second day, we set off on an exploration of Barcelona, widely hailed as the City of Counts. This vibrant metropolis, perched alongside the Mediterranean, boasts a distinctive allure, thanks in part to the modernist masterpieces of Gaudí and the bustling atmosphere of the Ramblas. Moreover, you can't ignore its storied past, marked by significant events like the Universal Exposition and the Olympics. As one of Europe's most captivating capitals, Barcelona promises a fascinating start to our adventure.In the evening, we depart the bustling city and journey northwards into the heart of Catalonia. Our destination is the historic town of Girona, where we'll enjoy a leisurely stroll through its charming centre. Known for its vividly coloured houses, Girona also invites exploration of the old Jewish quarter and the remarkable cathedral. This evening marks a delightful interplay of urban energy and historical discovery before we retire for the night.
Day 3 - Girona - Carrieres des Lumieres - Chambery
Today, we journey into France, taking in the picturesque scenery of the Provence region. Our first stop is the charming town of Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a rich connection to Vincent Van Gogh. It's an ideal spot to explore the Roman theatre and its quaint Romanesque churches, and you'll have time to enjoy a leisurely lunch. Next, we delve into a unique art experience at Carrières des Lumières. This astonishing underground art exhibition transforms an ancient quarry into a captivating display of art, light, and sound. Our day concludes in Chambéry, the delightful capital of the Savoy region. Known for its medieval charm, Chambéry boasts a beautiful historic centre and a grand castle. Should Carrières des Lumières be fully booked, rest assured we have an alternative visit to the stunning Pont du Gard, a remarkable Roman aqueduct.
Day 4 - Chambery - Geneva - Gruyeres - Leysin
Today, we set off to Switzerland, with Geneva as our first destination. In the company of our guide, we'll explore notable landmarks, including the Palais des Nations – the European headquarters of the United Nations – and take a leisurely stroll through the enchanting English Garden, where the renowned flower clock adds to the charm. The iconic Jet d’Eau, recognised as the tallest fountain in Europe, provides an impressive backdrop.Our journey then takes us to the picturesque, fortified village of Gruyères, internationally acclaimed for its delicious cheeses. Nearby, some of Switzerland’s leading chocolate factories await, including a visit to the Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory. Here, you’re in for a delightful tasting session. We continue along scenic routes, winding through serene mountain vistas and quaint wooden hamlets, until we arrive at Chillon Castle. This stunning fortress perched on the edge of Lake Geneva is a must-see, and admission is included in our tour.Our travels conclude for the day in Leysin, a charming resort village renowned for its breathtaking views of the Rhône Valley and Mont Blanc. Known for its winter sports and hiking trails, Leysin offers a splendid setting to unwind. We'll stay here overnight, treating you to an included dinner. Should circumstances change, accommodation might be arranged in another equally enchanting Swiss alpine town, such as Martigny.
Day 5 - Leysin - Interlaken - Lucerne - Zurich
Today, prepare to be captivated by the breathtaking mountain landscapes of Switzerland as we embark on an adventure to Glacier 3000. Dress warmly for this high-altitude excursion, where a cable car whisks us to one of the nation’s most awe-inspiring spots, offering a perpetual canvas of ice and snow. While there, traverse the suspended bridge between peaks for panoramic views, explore the mesmerising Ice Cathedral, or unleash your inner child at the Fun Park. We'll then pause in Interlaken for a pleasant lunch break before continuing to Lucerne, a city renowned for its picturesque beauty. As evening descends, we will arrive in Zurich, where you'll have a bit of free time to wander through the city's vibrant centre before settling in at the hotel. Please note that in case of inclement weather or unforeseen closures, an equally stunning alternative will be arranged to ensure you don’t miss out on Switzerland’s enchanting alpine vistas.
Day 6 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
Departing from Zurich, we journey into the picturesque Alsace region of France, where we visit Strasbourg. This charming city is renowned for its unique blend of French and German influences, offering a distinct cultural experience. You'll have the opportunity to explore Strasbourg at your leisure, taking in the city's beautiful architecture and vibrant atmosphere. In the evening, we continue our journey to Paris, arriving in time to soak up the city's iconic charm as the day winds down.
Day 7 - Paris
On Day 7, we will delve into the rich history of France with a visit to the stunning Palace of Versailles, famous for its opulent gardens. As the entrance fee is not included, you have the freedom to explore this magnificent site at your own pace. Upon returning to Paris, we'll explore Montmartre, a charming area known for its artistic heritage and bustling cabaret scene. Our day continues with a panoramic city tour led by a local guide, where we will witness the splendour of Paris as we pass iconic landmarks and grand avenues. Following the tour, we'll head back to the hotel. In the evening, you're invited to enjoy an optional variety show, offering a taste of Parisian entertainment at its finest.
Day 8 - Paris - Rouen
We begin our day with one of Paris's most iconic landmarks, the Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this renowned iron structure, with tickets included for a seamless visit. Following this, we embark on a leisurely boat cruise along the Seine, offering delightful views of the city from the water. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your leisure—perhaps stroll through its elegant avenues, visit a museum, or indulge in a café. At around 4:00 p.m., we depart Paris and make our way to Normandy, arriving in the city of Rouen. Here, you'll find yourself amidst a rich tapestry of history dating back to Roman times, with free time to discover the city’s medieval charm, its magnificent Gothic cathedral, and vibrant cultural scene. Please note, if there are long queues at the Eiffel Tower, we may reschedule the visit to a more convenient time, ensuring you a pleasant experience.
Day 9 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
Today, we begin with a leisurely stroll through the centre of Rouen, giving you time to appreciate its rich history and stunning architecture. Afterward, we travel north through France, embarking on a ferry crossing over the English Channel. Upon arrival in Canterbury, you'll experience the charm of England's religious capital, known for its picturesque historic centre. Our journey then takes us to London, where you can explore the iconic Tower Bridge area at your leisure before we make our way to the hotel.
Day 10 - London
Discover London on a panoramic tour with a local guide that showcases the city’s culture and history. You’ll see famous sites such as the Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where you might witness the iconic Changing of the Guard (depending on the dates). In the evening, we’ll establish a meeting point in Piccadilly to take a stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, areas renowned for their lively atmosphere, theaters, and entertainment options. You’ll have plenty of restaurants to choose from for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 11 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
In the morning, we’ll visit the British Museum, one of the world´s oldest museums, where we’ll see traces of cultures from all around the world. At lunchtime, after some free time, we’ll head to Camden, a district renowned for its vibrant and eclectic street market. There, you can explore unique items and artifacts from around the globe and enjoy lunch at one of its little restaurants or food stands.Around 4:00 p.m., we’ll depart for Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England, and enjoy a leisurely stroll through its historic streets. We’ll then continue to Harwich to board the ferry for an overnight voyage to the Netherlands, staying in en suite cabins.Important note: Due to the limited number of cabins available on the ferry, the itinerary may be adjusted. We might travel from London to Amsterdam via a daytime ferry, with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or alternatively, take a train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 12 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
Around eight in the morning, we arrive in the NETHERLANDS (Hoek van Holland) and visit VOLENDAM, a charming and picturesque fishing village.Afterwards, we travel to AMSTERDAM, and take a guided tour of the city, combining several highlights: the iconic image of the windmill and the Rembrandt statue, the contemporary elegance of the South District, and the centuries-old magic of diamond cutting at Museum Square.Finally, we’ll leave the bus and walk into the heart of the city, where the tour will end. Free time afterward.
Day 13 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
We’ll depart from Amsterdam and head towards Germany. Our first stop is Hamelin, a picturesque German town with shops and streets reminiscent of the Pied Piper of Hamelin fairy tale by Brothers Grimm. We’ll then continue towards Berlin, passing through Marienborn, the former border that separated East and West Germany until 1990. We’ll arrive in Berlin in the evening.
Day 14 - Berlin
Immerse yourself in the local culture with a tour of Berlin, the incredible capital of Germany, accompanied by a local guide. From our coach, you´ll have the chance to see the Museum Island, the Television Tower, the city center’s main shopping streets, the old cathedral destroyed during World War II, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the city’s expansive parks. We’ll stop to visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum—two powerful landmarks that remind us of Germany’s challenging history in the previous century. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore the city at your own pace. In the early evening, we’ll provide a transfer to the lively Kantstrasse area.
Day 15 - Berlin
After breakfast, our journey will come to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
