Mallorca Classic Self-Drive

Upon arrival at Mallorca airport, collect your hire car by meeting the rental representative in the arrivals hall. Once you have your vehicle, drive to your hotel in Can Pastilla, where you will stay for the next three nights. This will be your base for exploring the area throughout your stay. After breakfast at the hotel, we set out to explore Can Pastilla and its inviting beaches. Alternatively, you may choose to visit Palma de Mallorca, often regarded as one of Europe’s most liveable cities. The city boasts a vibrant atmosphere and impressive architecture, with the Gothic cathedral standing prominently above the bustling port filled with yachts and ships. Wander through the narrow alleys of the old town, where a variety of shops and bars await, and experience the lively yet historic fishermen’s quarter of Santa Catalina. Overnight in Can Pastilla.

After breakfast at the hotel, we suggest exploring three of Mallorca’s most iconic villages. Begin with Valldemossa, a charming village once home to composer Chopin and writer George Sand. Wander through its quaint streets, browse traditional bakeries and shops, and take in the stunning surroundings. You’ll have some free time here, or if you wish, you can visit La Cartuja monastery (entrance not included). Next, drive through lush, rugged landscapes to reach Deià and Sóller. Both villages feature well-preserved stone streets and offer plenty of picturesque views. After your visit, return to your hotel in Can Pastilla for the night.

After breakfast, drive north to Can Picafort, your next base for exploring Mallorca’s northern coast. Spend the day discovering the charming town of Alcudia, known for its bustling port and lively market. We recommend hiking some of the scenic trails in the Tramuntana mountain range or visiting Lluc Monastery, a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Throughout the day, you can explore local markets held in various towns, offering a chance to sample regional delicacies or browse handmade pottery. While seafood is a highlight here, don’t miss traditional inland dishes such as soups, frito mallorquín and rice recipes once favoured by local farmers. Return to Can Picafort for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, set off by car towards Manacor and Portocristo to visit the renowned Caves of Drach (entrance not included), one of Mallorca’s most celebrated natural attractions. Explore the impressive network of underground caverns and lakes, a remarkable geological formation. Afterwards, return to your hotel in Can Picafort for some rest, or take the opportunity to stop at one of the many scenic coves along the way and spend a leisurely afternoon swimming or relaxing by the sea. After breakfast at the hotel, spend the day exploring the sandy Mediterranean beaches and crystal-clear waters of Alcudia Bay and its surroundings. Choose your favourite spot to swim, shop, sunbathe or enjoy a drink on a terrace – the choice is yours. Relax and soak up the atmosphere at your own pace. Overnight in Can Picafort.

After breakfast at the hotel, spend another day at your own pace in Can Picafort or explore the surrounding area. You might choose to relax at the hotel or venture out to nearby highlights such as the dramatic landscapes of Cape Formentor or the charming town of Pollença, known for its lively market. Enjoy the freedom to tailor the day to your interests before returning to your accommodation in Can Picafort for the night.

After breakfast, say goodbye to Mallorca as you drive to the airport to return your car. The car rental company will have explained the return procedure and designated drop-off area when you collected the vehicle. A shuttle service will then transfer you to the terminal in time for your departure flight home.
