Overall, I had a great time on the King Ramses tour. It was a full-on itinerary and we really made the most of our time. We got to see all the main historical sites and attractions, and I came away feeling like I'd seen the 'real' Egypt. There was enough downtime to make up for the busy schedule, but it was pretty full on so get ready for early starts and long days! I was initially nervous about the felucca trip but it ended up being one of the best parts of the trip. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable couple of days. Ending the trip in Hurghada was lovely, as it was nice to relax by the beach/pool and have free time to do as you please.

Our guide was good and informative. He was helpful with sorting out anything we needed and is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about Egypt. He helped with additional trips.

Food and drinks were cheap, particularly outside of touristy areas. There was food for vegans but not as much choice as most of the time we were brought to places for lunch etc, so it wasn't very varied. Food on the train and breakfast for the trip to Abu Simbel were not good at all for vegans. I brought this up to my guide and it got a bit better after that. Tips are expected everywhere. The tipping of the tour guide was definitely not considered 'an entirely personal gesture' and was very much expected. He even gave me the amount he expected, and appeared displeased when I adjusted it.

I would recommend this trip, but just be aware of the busy schedule and tipping.”  

Honestly, I’m getting a bit annoyed with male tour guides. They have no concept of women’s needs to shop. Racing through a Medina on a ‘tour of the Medina’ is just not good enough. The women in our tour had to stage a coup just to get a couple of hours shopping in Marrakesh on the last day. Apart from that, our guide was lovely and so was our driver.

However - there is way too much time on a bus in this tour. I booked this tour because there seemed to be plenty of leisure time and minimal bus time. This was not the case. On our second to last day we had to spend 10 hours driving to a dry lake in the mountains. We arrived at 7pm, had a drink and went to bed exhausted. Up early the next day to sit in the bus again to drive to Marrakech. What a nightmare. Why? That section could have been eliminated to allow an extra day in Marrakech.

The hotels in Rabat and Fes were fantastic. The hotel near Chefchaouen was filthy and too far away for us to shop unsupervised. Marrakech- good, Casablanca- very strange, cold not lock the balcony door. The hotel at the dry lake was pretty good apart from the shower head where most jets were clogged. The Moroccan people were friendly and patient. Overall this tour tries to pack too much into the time available.”  

A full packed busy schedule but enjoyed each day seeing all the sights and more. Our guide was exceptional and always cared about our welfare booked our viewings early to avoid the crowds and heat. ”  

You pay for airport transfers but they only honor this for travelers arriving on the start and end date of the tour. The day 1 welcome meeting was held on day 3 so we had little idea of what to expect when they didn't show on the evening of day 1. Then we were the tour of two people only which was never conveyed to us even when we booked 6 months earlier. Nor were the start and end hotels advised only the start hotel would be in downtown Cairo; not so, we were given a 5-star hotel in New Giza, in the middle of the desert but closer to the pyramids with no local amenities; these were 30 minutes away by cab!

Finally, the 10-day tour included a 4-day Nile cruise; that's 4 nights on the ship that cruised for only 36 hours, disappointing. However, the tour guides were very good.”  

Accommodation - hotels were excellent but the Nile cruiser was fairly ordinary.

Food - The only food provided was the Nile Cruiser and breakfasts at the hotels. The standard of the food on the cruiser was ordinary, all buffet.

Local transport was very good and the drivers were very professional and handled the local driving conditions well.

Cairo guide was outstanding, good English great knowledge but knew when to back off and let us do our own exploring and gave us enough time to look at our own pace.

The other guides were good as well although there was a bit of a push to go to some local outlets that were OK but not really our thing i.e. natural oils etc.

Your guidance note about the On The Go representative was confusing as it indicates that there was only one when in fact there were three, Cairo, Aswan and Luxor so the tipping guidance was not appropriate,

Communication - there needs to be a big improvement in communication around daily activities and also in our situation, details of the flights that have been arranged i.e. we only found out the day before we were due to fly from Luxor to Cairo what time the flight left Luxor. This was important as we had to catch a flight to Dubai.

The biggest negative issue is the tipping: it just seemed that everyone had their hand out for something and while your notes do say it is part of the culture it is not part of our culture”  

Aamer Ibrahim was fabulous. This is the fourth time I've traveled with OTG and Aamer is the best tour guide I've had through this tour company.”  

I found Medo to be very accommodating, knowledgeable and kind with a bubbly personality and very non judgmental to any ignorance we may have had towards the Egyptian culture at times educating us with sincerity. I found some of the extra lunches to not be value for money to my needs and palate. I do wish it was explained in broader detail the extra lunch costs prior as I myself would have greatly preferred to select my own meal of the menu instead of a set lunch. The fragrance experience felt extremely transactional and did come across a tad scamish even though I desired pre tour to purchase fragrance it still had a tad bit of an uncomfortable feel. Upon reflection the sleeper train experience was positively the worst I don’t mean any offence but some one was smoking in our cabin and despite another tour member cautioning the man he persisted which resulted in sinus issue for a couple of the tour group. Our hotel in Cairo the holiday in was mostly pleasant despite the constant forced efforts of some hotel staff to tip even when we did not need assistance and try to refused assistance. The hotel was mostly clean apart from the showers it actually looked like some one had defecated on the blind inside the shower. There were some inconsistencies in our day to day restock of amenity supplies. The Iberotel cruise was very pleasant staff were kind and non pushy which was of great comfort however the ship is in dire need of a revamp and one of our members sprained her ankle due to the un levelled flooring. Food was good and up to expectations. Our accomodation in Luxor was nice and comforting we opted for own own lunches which was very satisfying. Our transport was comfortable and felt safe. Hurghada was a very pleasant experience I would however point out the snorkelling experience was a little below my expectations as the boat was a little in disrepair and the snorkelling time was a little less than expected but I still had a nice time experiencing the Red Sea. And lastly our hotel on our last night in Cairo was lovely and very close to the airport which was of great comfort. Overall I was satisfied with our tour guide and mostly our tour as a whole. ”  

The tour was an incredible experience. Our guides in Egypt and Jordan were both amazing people and made the journey one that we will remember forever.

Unbelievable "on the go" bucket list sites mixed with great food, incredible landscapes and just the right mix of leisure time cruising the Nile and by the Red Sea and Dead Sea.

The only poor part of the tour was the Sleeper Train from Cairo to Aswan. All the people on our tour rated it extremely poor. No air conditioning in the carriage, very noisy, very dirty, just awful conditions. No sleep at all on this train. Maybe this could be improved by an internal flight between Cairo and Aswan or by a newer train. Even though this one night was a poor experience the tour was still an incredible one. ”  

HWe found the tour was well paced and covered everything could hope for. Food was amazing but if I had anything to complain about - there was too much of it. Understand they love to show their hosting skills, but it was impossible to eat all they laid out and we felt so bad as we left so much uneaten.

The guide “G” was amazing. Very informative, extremely helpful and resourceful as well as humorous - made the tour lots of fun and nothing was too much trouble for him. He appeared very well educated and knowledgeable about the entire country.

We were a bit hesitant about the representative greeting us airside at Amman but it could not have been any smoother and seamless. This part was also well organised and a great introduction to the tour.

Would also like to mention the driver. This was our third tour with you and the drivers we had in Turkey (5 years ago now) and Jordan were great and just as much a part of the tour as the guide. Both were extremely helpful, courteous and had a sense of humour..

Excellent tour guide (Aissa), extremely patient with some challenging passengers. We were disappointed that our tour exceeded the max number as advertised and included some elderly (but lovely) passengers who struggled to keep up. This hindered our progress and limited our time in each destination. ”  

Great experience, but never again. There were plenty of photo opportunities and some fun experiences, we learned a lot and saw a ton. The tour itself was too much time spent on the bus. I would have rather visited one less city and spent less time on the bus. Also, the stops with sales pitches were aggravating. I felt like I was being sold timeshares every day. Lastly, the hotel accommodations were not top notch. We had a variety of issues in each hotel from ants in the room to a none working toilet.

All that said, Omar our tour guide was EXCEPTIONAL! He is one of the only reasons I would even consider returning. Omar had a plethora of knowledge about the areas and was always above and beyond friendly and helpful. His pleasant demeanor and kindness were all the held this trip together. We also had a wonderful driver named Moostafa that was very kind and helpful. ”

Without a doubt, this trip was the best tour ever! Right from the very beginning of the trip, landing in Cairo Muhammad was waiting at the arrivals for us. He was so warm and welcoming and really made the arrival so smooth for us. What we really appreciated was considering we were travelling between cities after our tour guide concluded our section of the tour, that at every point, a representative from On The Go Tours was always waiting for us at the destination. It made the whole trip run so smoothly and gave us comfort knowing we were taken care of. When we started the tour we were in Cairo and were welcomed by Muhammad and when we arrived back in Cairo at the end of our trip we once again was welcomed by Muhammad - it was so good to have a familiar face. He then took us to the hotel for the night then picked us up the next day and took us to the airport. It was great having the same person.

Now to the tour guide, Sherrif - you could not ask for a more knowledgeable and kind genuine person. He knew he stuff big time! Every question we had he could answer. We really appreciated that he would explain the main parts of the attraction we were visiting, then we had free time to explore. This made the whole tour not feel rushed at all. Sherif was with us the whole time and really became part of our family.

This has been our first tour and will definitely not be the last. We will make sure we book another tour with On The Go for sure! ”

Our guide Omar was really exceptionally good. Knowledgeable, passionate, professional, friendly & charismatic. Responsive 100%. Omar had a great sense of knowing what the group needs - when to give us history information, when to give quiet for napping, when to provide some mood music . The itinerary is challenging. Suggest removing some things on long day from desert to Fes ( remove monkeys, gorge) or give a short dinner break before Fes. The highlights were most definitely camels/camp, Fes, Essasouria. The meals provided were all very good. Bus - legroom challenging and I’m only five feet tall and the seats were bit sloped from wear which make them uncomfortable after long hours. AC was working well though. We were disappointed that the promoted hotel was not available in Essaouria. Especially since we had booked at least ten months prior. ”  

Our guide Sherif was fantastic. Very passionate and knowledgeable with a friendly and humorous disposition. The tour certainly was full on and our itinerary was tweaked according to the peeling off from members of the group which meant we lost some balance re days. Loved the smallish number on our tour. Wondered why we needed to be on the cruise 4 nights when we were only sailing for 2? Loved going down the Nile except the boat wasn’t quite adequate re expectations etc. ”  

It was a wonderful experience. It was hectic but good.

Sheriff our tour guide was a walking encyclopedia on all topics associated with the tour. His blood is worth bottling.

The train ride left a bit to be desired, but hey it is all part of the Egyptian experience.

Our guide Omar we couldn’t fault he was thoughtful had a great sense of humour he made the tour for us along with the wonderful people we met. We were very disappointed in our final 3 nights when we expected to be in a resort which is what we paid for. If you’re going to change the resort we expect same as was advertised. Also the motel we went to after the camel ride was not good enough our shower didn’t work and we put into a room they had been slept in and not cleaned. Besides these two things we had the most wonderful time and would travel with On-The-Go again. We especially loved the small group size.”  

Tour guides were amazing!! Zeidan was great at getting through airport security on arrival and when leaving… he was also a great negotiator at the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar. Nash was very informative about the pyramids and in the museums. Both were very professional, respectful and friendly. Perfect gentlemen as was the driver Mahmou. I had a great time and loved every minute.”

Tour guide and local guides were outstanding, very knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. Highlights for me were camel ride in the desert and the Roman ruins at Volubilis. I thought that stop at Casablanca was a bit of a filler as apart from the mosque there did seem to be much of interest or time available. Appreciate that distances between stops can be long.”

We where disappointed on the Jeep used in the sahara desert very old and it was more like a Ute

We where also advised on the greet and meet that the tipping fees and entrance fees had been increased, much to our surprise. ”

All the group chose the extension on Friday to the site of Baptism of Jesus and the Hot Spring waterfall. I suggest it become a regular feature of the program. I particularly enloyed the Wadi Mujib canyoning. It took me near to my limits, but Hameed was very watchful, and I was within safe bounds. He also provided for those who could do no more than wading in the lower reaches of the canyon, and that was well done.

I was surprised that my Visa was covered by On The Go, and you need to bring "up front" your telling us that, as I paid for an uncessary online visa.

over all tour was poor due to the driver who drove poorly.. one of those foot on the pedal then let up then foot on the pedal and let up.. So your head was bobbing the whole time.. We saw amazing sites but we had no guidence when there.. we would have to look it up at hotel.

Itinerary was fine but Hema strayed from the order of go and day place was seen... What made it very annoying is he did not communicate this with us..

food at our lodging was wonderful.... Hema did not take us anywhere special during the day.. We had to ask for pit stop to use the rest room... Something that a real guid would of taken into consideration.

The tour was perfect for us. Not to strenuous and ideal for older people. From the start to finish all went well. The Guides were excellent, the hotels and ryad were also excellent. Travel and drivers also very good. If possible a bit more of a tour of Casablanca would have been welcome .

Nader was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. He was professional and friendly throughout the trip and took excellent care of the group - I would highly recommend him as a guide to any future travellers.

However, the overall tour had some room for improvement in terms of logistics, communication and information provided. For example, when we landed at the airport the local representative rushed us through the airport without sufficient communication and we didn't have time to withdraw cash or buy sim cards. While we were aware there would be a tip kitty, the amount required for the kitty wasn't communicated before we arrived in the country. We had to withdraw 21,000 EGP (for 3 people) from an ATM which had a 3,000 EGP withdrawal limit as soon as we arrived at the hotel as the staff member waiting there insisted on sorting out the tip kitty. This was very poor communication and timing (right after a very long haul journey) and there were no other ATMs nearby. The advice provided beforehand could have reasonably included a rough estimate of the kitty amount and advice to have EGP before we landed.

The arrival briefing was quite long and scheduled over dinner time. We would suggest reducing this to 30 minutes max and scheduling it for jsut before or after dinner. The detailed trip notes were provided to us during the arrival briefing, however these should have been emailed to us ahead of the trip to help us better prepare (e.g. required amount of cash for the tip kitty and add-ons). The tour was already quite expensive, but the number of additional site entries we had to pay for were a significant additional cost which we weren't aware of before the trip.

At the end of the tour when we took the overnight train to Cairo, we were verbally told that we would arrive in Cairo mid-morning and check into our hotel. However, we arrived at the hotel by 7am and were told by the local representative that rooms would not be available until between 10am-11am. All of us were extremely tired after the overnight train ride and had no alternative but to wait in the hotel lobby. We were fortunately able to check-in to rooms around 8am, however this meant paying a USD30 fee per room, which we also had not been warned about. We were extremely disappointed with the communication and lack of consideration for tired travellers in this instance.

Overall, the tour guide and itinerary were excellent, but given the difficulty with logistics and communication we are unlikely to recommend this tour to other friends unless these are fixed.”  

The representative greeted me, changing the date and time for meeting. The meeting went ahead at its original time and I missed out. Hence I missed the light and sound show at Pyramids despite my request to attend. The representative claimed he had called me at my room. I received no call. I requested high tea at the Agatha Christie hotel not Abu Symbal. I was encouraged to attend Abu Symbal with the promise of high tea the following day. High tea was said to be too expensive we were only given opportunity for a drink, another request I missed. When paying for Abu Symbal, a man I’d never met requested my credit card to swipe on a machine that showed no amount and then stated we need to charge you an extra 2 per cent. There was no receipt given when making cash payments. The baggage and hotel people I tipped and the guide made no reference of tipping despite the group tipping money. The Hyatt hotel had a room with no view. The Nile cruise very limited internet and the two docked nights on the cruise I would have preferred a hotel cos it was very noisy trying to sleep. The boat was old and in need of repair.”  

This tour was a good way to get to explore lots of Morocco- we visited such a diverse range of cities and landscapes over the course of our 8 days- from Casablanca to the Atlas Mountains. Our guide was Mohamed Ladous and our driver was Abdellah. Together they ensured we had a safe, comfortable and enjoyable trip- they were great company for our 8 days travelling around the country!

Mohamed shared so much information with us, not just about the cities we visited but also about the history of Morocco, Berber culture and gave us insights into daily life for people in the towns we visited.

It was also great to get out of the towns and visit some of the national parks where Mohamed took us on some great hikes.

Nothing was too much trouble for our guide - helping me find monkeys on our hike or stopping to buy fresh pomegranates from local farmers- he ensured we got to see the best of the areas we were in. ”

On the last week I was the only person left on the tour and he went out of his way to make me feel special. He made me laugh so much I was nearly crying. He has a great sense of humour. It rained one night so we couldn’t get through to Sahara due to flooding. Overall the tour was great. We saw some amazing places, met some beautiful people and was entertained throughout. The main reason I booked this tour was to spend the night in the desert which didn’t happen ”

Our driver Bahaa was prompt and collected us on time the first day. The vehicle was nicely prepared for our travel and comfortable. As we had a lot of time spare in the first day we requested an additional diversion to the tour by going to Wadi Rum which was not on the tour circuit. Bahaa arranged this well and did his utmost to make it work for us.

On arrival at Petra we met our tour guide Ghaedan. He was very friendly and prepared to make everything work for us. His knowledge and guiding were good and we were lucky to have him to ourselves.

The Old Village Petra resort was a great location. The accomodation and food quality was good.

The Holiday Inn at the Dead Sea was a bit of a disappointment. The room we had was aged and felt tired. Curtains were stained, TV did not work well, the gardens looked unattended amoung a few other things. The food was average and the food hall was like eating in a food court at a shopping mall. The Dead Sea component could possibly be reduced to a day visit as for us there wasn’t much else to do there once we’d had a swim in it. As a suggestion a Wadi Rum and/or Wadi Mujib inclusion may have been better.

We also concluded the tour was very expensive considering a reasonable tipping suggestion was on top of the cost.

Overall though Bahaa and Ghaedan made it a very memorable experience.”

Our first night was supposed to be in Marrakesh but we were transferred straight to Casablanca without being told .

Would like to have tea/coffee facilities in hotel rooms.

Some of the lunches were really late and too close to dinner.

Enjoyed Rabat, Chefchouen & Marrakesh the most. Was glad we booked a couple of extra nights at the end in Marrakesh as just an afternoon and evening there is not enough. The only thing I liked about Casablanca was the famous cafe and the mosque.

Would be useful to be able to change up notes for small coins for toilets and tips, maybe advised on how to do this on arrival.

Advice on tourist scams in Marrakesh would be helpful, as we fell for a couple on our last 2 days, which left a disappointing view of some Morrocan people after having such a nice tour previously.”  

The Jewel of the Nile tour was amazing from start to finish. There was just so much to see and do, and all of it fascinating. The hotels were all great (the upgrade to flights from overnight train and subsequent stay at the Movenpick in Aswan a right treat), all transport air conditioned and comfortable, and I don’t feel we missed anything out - getting to see all the important sights and adding on Abu Simbel for its exceptionality. Plenty of well chosen shopping opportunities I took full advantage of. My top highlights were the Egyptian Museum (had that real dusty artifact of old, museum feel), the Valley of the Kings (Ramses V & VI tombs as recommended by our guide were exceptional) and the Old Cataract hotel. Our tour guide, Helal, was so enthusiastic and passionate about Egyptian history you couldn’t help but get sucked in. Hands down the best tour guide I’ve had - and he had to deal with some difficult personalities too, but was so kind about it all. Nothing was too much trouble for him - he sourced me a copy of Death on the Nile to read on our Nile cruise and he took a group of us over to The Old Cataract and managed to get a rare exception so we could privately visit Agatha Christie’s suite and her balcony view - as a British writer this was such a treat. Cocktails on the terrace overlooking the Nile after was *chef’s kiss* Thank you again for such a beautiful experience, Helal!

Highly recommend this tour (company, tour itself and guide) to anyone looking for a fantastic experience in Egypt. I felt safe travelling as a solo female traveller the whole time, and I was lucky to have such a wonderful group of people on my tour - 9 of us total.

A additional thank you to Tonga, the Cairo rep, for sneaking me through staff security at Cairo airport on my return so I didn’t have to queue at all!

The tour around Morocco was incredible. We saw a lot of historic beautiful cities, tried delicious local cuisine and saw beautiful diverse nature. Our highlight of the trip was travelling through Sahara desert on camels. Our guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, and our group was fun and friendly as well. Overall we really enjoyed the trip. One thing that could be improved is the bus; it was great for short trips but for longer drives it was a bit uncomfortable but everything else was great. ”  

We had a wonderful time, our guide was amazing. Only thing the Felucca, it was an experience but with kids was quite a boring looooong afternoon. Maybe start the ride later with kids, it was Abit of a waist if an afternoon that could be used to tour something else. or add entertainment or a stop somewhere. Besides that awesome Tour, a dream come true. ”  

Overall our first experience with our quide was very good had experience with company rep insisting and pressure to tip in Cairo we then flew to Aswan our second quide we found him pleasant But he put so much pressure on tipping every single person it made our experience with him un bearable we felt because we were 2 females traveling without husbands he put extra pressure on us to tip he made our Aswan experience uncomfortable and didn't enjoy that part of our trip”  

The tour exceeded our expectations in a lot of ways. Most importantly was the care, kindness and knowledge of the guide, Lhoucine and the driver, Hussain. We appreciated the use of local guides where required and in all areas were great.

The only thing that would improve the tour would be a fan in the desert accommodation when it was so hot.

This tour covered everything we expected to see and do in Morocco, we thought it was excellent value and will be recommending it to friends.”  

Jordan portion

The tour guide we had in Jordan - Ghaeda (G) - went above and beyond every day, often multiple times during the day. G was open to questions and reflected a real passion for his country. G's consideration for all of us, particularly one of our sons who struggled towards the top of Petra, was humbling and sincerely appreciated. I would highly recommend G to anyone wanting to explore Jordan. G didn't push for tips and tried to refuse (although he thoroughly deserved ours) and was a tour guide for the right reasons. We learnt a lot from G and cherished our time in Jordan. I felt we didn't have enough time in Wadi Rum, which was the only disappointment with the itinerary. We arrived later in the afternoon/evening and had to have bags packed for 8am the next morning and after paying for an upgraded igloo room, this was a shame.

Egypt portion

It's hard to beat Egypt regarding Ancient History, and the itinerary was fabulous. Highlights for us were the Nile cruise and Luxor. Although every Egyptian destination was like stepping back in time and exploring a vivid, rich country. Our tour guide, MoMo, was not as good as G. He would often suggest extras for us that he benefited from, and he didn't engage with us as much as we felt he could have. One thing that struck us as odd was MoMo suggesting we not bother paying to go inside Tutankhamun's tomb in Valley of the Kings, saying it was just like all the other tombs and "not worth the hype". As a result, not many of us paid to see it, and yet, for our two sons, it was an absolute highlight, and I wish I had seen it for myself. He also insisted on us paying his tip in USD, which wasn't specified in the brochure but could have been organised beforehand. I can see that MoMo was once an incredible tour guide.

Overall

The food and accommodation in both countries exceeded our expectations - WOW! I was blown away by what was on offer.

The only negative was the welcome experience in Cairo. We were immediately sent to the ATM to withdraw money, and it was uncomfortable and set a negative tone.

The Nile river cruise was full of men! Not one woman in sight and the men just stare at you eating and are very pushy! The photographer insisted us to buy photos and someone selling clothes to us on the oat telling us “promise you’ll come back”! The men are really aggressive and look down on woman!

The train was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! We got plane ticket’s for the return!”

My totally Morocco trip was wonderful. I gave it 4/5 only because I was really packed and there wasn’t enough free time. What made it really great was our tour guide Omar!!! He was amazing!! He is passionate, has extensive knowledge of the Morocco history and culture, has great sense of humor and did everything possible to make sure we were happy. We were 11 people in the group from around the world but he made us one team!! He included everyone even in music choices while we were traveling. I thought the tour was excellent. For me, the weakest day was the long drive from Fes to the Lake Country. Given the drought, i could have probably skipped that day... but it was to meet Jamal's family and have tea together. The resort in Chefchaouen was beautiful but the toilets did not work. People were trying to help but it was not a good situation.

Other than that, I thought everything was excellent. We all agreed that Jamal took the trip from really good to absolutely fabolous. It''s apparent how much he loves his job by the way he respects and treats everyone. He's an absolute 10+. I appreciate your suggestion on the tipping amount, but he is worth so much more.

Our driver was Hassan and he was also wonderful. I can't image driving that big van on those narrow roads and the concentration that takes.”  

The whole tour was excellent, and Medo, Aamer, and Gheadan were exceptional guides. I do think we only needed one night on a sleeper train and not two; those trains were dirty and gross. I especially loved Sonesta St. George in Luxor and Holiday Inn Dead Sea, and I really am thankful Danielle told me about the Nile Cruise, which was fabulous (when I booked this tour). I would have been miserable on a felucca. Also, more accurate information about expectations of attire and money would have been good. I could have used my American dollars almost everywhere, and the people wanted the dollars and not their currency, and my outfits didn’t have to be as conservative as the information stated. I have been advertising this tour to everyone and think all people would benefit from taking this amazing, well-organized, safe, totally fun tour. Tour was good with the exception of the overnight train journey. More information and warnings should be given about this prior to booking. The aircon was not working which meant that it was an extremely hot journey.

The Sonesta hotel was terrible; staff were unfriendly , bordering on rudeness. The other hotels were good.

Our tour was fascinating the places visited driving seeing the scenery we certainly covered many aspects of Moroccan life . The accommodation was very good the Roads were fascinating , hotels standard was excellent & in some very scenic areas nice to have the use of a pool occasionally. Omar our tour guide I could not speak more highly of him his knowledge of the country , history, geography etc..he was fun, polite, helpful, informative. In areas where walking or tracking he assisted when needed to get up or down steps, over rocks etc…Guided tours were excellent - one area being a lone traveller when we had time in places I asked other tour members if I could accompany them as did not wish to wander alone.They were great but I felt a bit of a burden as they we’re together with friend or family members. I would recommend to friends to go with someone on the tour. Unless very confident to get themselves around managed to cope with all the activities @ 75years. The drivers were excellent & transport comfortable as very hot time of year.”

I would like to acknowledge the excellent Tour Coordinator Bedo who from the moment we met him at the Cairo Airport to when we departed Egypt to fly to Jordan he did everything possible to make our holiday enjoyable and stress free. He is a credit to your organisation and deserves all the accolades I am sure he receives. Our tour guide Amer, once again is one of a kind, helpful in every way and so knowledgeable it was such a pleasure to have him lead our tour. He was so understanding and patient with one of our fellow travelers that I believe many others would not have tolerated some of the antics displayed. A true professional. These two individuals made our tour an absolute dream holiday.

The only negative experience was the overnight train from Cairo to Aswan. Positively awful, cramped, dirty & the food was inedible.. ”  

The tour was exceptional. The places visited was truly worth it. Everyone one of them. I can't pick a favourite - hmm, perhaps the desert experience, perhaps Fès, the mountain Atlas. To be honest, they were magnificent.

However, my least favourite was the Atlas Studio. Perhaps, I am not a film enthusiast!!!!

The itinerary didn't follow the same order as the previous, but we didn't miss out.

Overall, Egypt was a wonderful country to visit. Everyone we spoke to (that wasn't out to get money from us) was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. The sites were magnificent! Now to the not so good part...

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Egypt, but he needs to have a better attitude and customer service. His interactions with other members of our group were extremely aggressive and abrasive, which felt very awkward and embarrassing.

There were times when I felt I was being swindled out of more money than originally expected. For example, our tour guide offered a camel riding at Giza excursion for a specific price, but when we arrived to the location the next day, he asked for more money than mentioned the night before. Further, for several lunches, the tour guide told us the price per person and he would pool our money for the restaurant. While I can see how this would help expedite the payment process, our drinks were not included - so we had to individually pay for those anyway. Pooling our money to speed up the bill process was moot. We never saw a menu and didn't know how much the food cost, which leads to doubt and uncertainty about whether we're paying a fair price for our meals or if the guide is pocketing any extra.

Moreover, when we went to the tour-sponsored papyrus store, I asked the tour guide if we were allowed to haggle. He said there is no haggling allowed, as the prices are set by the government. I ended up paying a very high price, trusting my tour guide, only to later find out through Google reviews of the store that haggling was a MUST and expected by the store. While the tour guide told us he doesn't accept a commission from the store, as he supposedly asks them to pass it on to the customer as a discount, I'm fairly certain a commission was still earned from the high price I paid. It is a shame when you can't trust the only connection you have to the locals.

On another note, many tour members were frustrated that the tour guide would wait until we arrived at the site to start giving history lessons, in the 45 degree Celsius heat. These history lessons would be better delivered on the air conditioned bus/van enroute to the site than at the site itself. If something must be said at the site, keep it very specific and brief. Many people wanted to spend their time admiring the site and exploring, rather than spending a majority of their time listening to the tour guide's history lesson in the heat.

My family tried our best to enjoy our time in Egypt, even though we were very disappointed with the tour guide.

All of our drivers were excellent. The ship staff on M/S Mariam for the Nile cruise were top notch. ”

We found the Jordan part of the trip to be interesting, educational and fun. At one point I lost my purse in the middle of Wadi Rum and it was found and delivered by a group of young men. Amazing. The guide was phenomenal. The Israel part of the trip not so much. The guide was gruff, uncommunicative and difficult to understand. He spent all our time showing us bogus sites of religious value (we did not need to see All the stations of the cross). He gave alot of miss-information and would argue with our group when we disagreed. We were very disappointed not to have seen more of Israel. ”

The tour was really excellent. A great mix of culture, history and learning about the environment and topography of Morocco. Our tour guide Omar was excellent and a great ambassador for on-the-go tours. He is efficient and knowledgeable as you'd expect, but also great fun, flexible and patient when needed. Omar was one of the 'highlights' of the whole tour. ”

We had many good experiences on this tour. However, the original description of travel distances and times were completely wrong. The journey from Ouarzazate to the Sahara is stated at 5.5 hours - in reality it was 10 hours. The following day we were asked to wake-up at 5.15am for the morning trek back to the hotel. Left there at 8.30 to travel to Fes. Arrived at the Fes hotel at 9pm - that's 12.5 hours. Too late to get any food, other than a sandwich from a supermarket. Yes, there were some stops along the way, but those two days were far too long and tiring. It wasn't acceptable for your guests or the driver and tour guide - both of which were excellent in the circumstances. If the itinerary had been accurate and stated what the tour was really like, then we wouldn't have booked with you.

The vehicle used for the tour was rather uncomfortable - maybe if the journeys were shorter then probably OK. But 22.5 hours on and off over two days was too much. The aircon was not good either - especially at the back.

The first day we were in Marrakech we were taken on a tour of the city and told that it was about 2 -2.5 hours with some time to ourselves at the end. 4 hours later after having rushed around in the afternoon heat there was no time left to ourselves to explore. Didn't really appreciate being taken into a shop where the owner spent 20 minutes trying to sell us all sorts of (expensive) medication.

There were many places we enjoyed seeing and some good memories, but we wouldn't travel with you again.

Finally, I want to thank our guide Mustapha who helped me after I had an accident in the desert. He found a doctor who treated me at the hotel and helped me to recover.”  

Our guides ,particularly Aissa and our driver, were magnificent. Very very safe and informative and knowledgeable. Could not expect more from the guide and driver. Some of the hotels were not great but overall, were clean and comfortable. The itinerary was also very good. The biggest issue my wife and I had was the stay in tents in the Sahara. We knew we would be in a tent, no problems, but we were expected to share the tent with 4 other people which was unexpected and unacceptable. When I googled about the tent accommodation in the area some camping areas had lovely tents some even had small ensuit bathrooms. Not where we stayed!!! What really made our trip was Aissa and Mohammed our guides. ”

I was very impressed with Sulleiman. His driving style was calm and confident. Abdefatah did not always appear overly engaged with the tour. ”

It was the first time my boyfriend had traveled outside of North America and to say it was a culture shock for him would be an understatement - in the best way possible!! Being in a place with such hustle and bustle, surrounded by the ancient world is just an amazing space to be in.

Tour: Overall well-paced with a number of caveats.

1) Had two nights in Chefchaouen but the hotel was too far from the city and not convenient for sightseeing.

2) That was little free time allowed in Fes, better to update the website and remove "Tagine Making" from the description.

3) The Marrakech guided tour felt a little rushed and would prefer if a visit to El Badi Palance and Saadian Tombs was included.

Guide: Disappointing. Not proactive in providing information or resolving issues. On several occasions I felt like we were left in the dark as to where to go/what to do.”  

My tour exceeded my expectations. I have always traveled on my own because I like the freedom of getting to know the local vibe and this was my first time doing a tour. Although I was a bit concerned with activities chosen and time spent driving from location to location I must say that I would not have seen so much of Morocco had I done it on my own. Our guide Abdelatif made the trip an unforgettable lifetime experience!!! I am still in awe of the way he was able to personalize the individual experience while at the same time being curtious and attentive to the group simultaneously and seamless!!! His thoughtful and professional approach was an unexpected experience that opened the door to my group traveling in the future!! The wc and stops to stretch etc. made it an easy and fun trip regardless of the hours spent on the road. Our driver Said was an excellent and safe driver,very professional also. The only thing that I would have added would be to have an escort in order to experience the Medina at night. As a solo traveler I felt intimidated to do it alone but only for fear of getting lost. Nevertheless Mr Abdelatif contributed greatly to one of the most memorable trips I've taken. Thank you!!”

MOROCCO is an amazing destination. We had a wonderful time and even the fact that I decided not to stay in a hotel but rather in the desert camp was all part of our experience.

We had a few exceptional experiences specially where our Guide Abdulah organise us to have tea in a berber house. To speak to the people to hear there concern and to see how they live. Was just wonderful.

But the two people who made this tour unforgettable was our guide Abdulahtif Haydar and our driver Said Maadi. This is my 7th trip on on the go and Insight and this two people was just amazing. Abdulah was there to meet us, his friendly face and always being supportive to and with every person on the tour attending to everyone one and to go out of their way to pay special attention to each and every one was just unussual. I will recommend this two people to everyone travelling to Morocco and ask them to go on ' ON THE GO TOURS. ”

Our guide was really good but occasionally would give an answer which was just not true. More of an issue was some of the local guides who seemed to waste much of our tour time at an establishment that was just trying to get us to buy stuff. This was annoying and I felt trapped into listening to some long sales pitch when I wanted to be out seeing and doing stuff. ”

Eliminate this part of the tour! It's unhealthy.

An airplane ride is a faster mode of transportation to Aswan. Tourists do not need to experience this awful train ride. ”

This trip was incredible, the achievement of all of my Egypt dreams, all thanks to On the Go. Out of all of the travel companies I researched, their tour encompassed everything that I ever wanted to see and do. Alam, our tour guide, was the best: friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and always giving us the best advice while providing a great breakdown of our days with information of what was happening in the moment. The hidden extras that we got to participate in - the Sound and Light show at the Pyramids and Nefertari's tomb and the Valley of the Queens - really made the trip special. I wish there were better restaurant options, as everything was buffets and rather bland...however, time was incredibly short so I understand why quicker restaurant stops were necessary. I would recommend anyone who wants to visit Egypt to do so via On the Go. It was my first time traveling with them and it was a great, fulfilling experience!”  

This was a fabulous experience! We loved our guide and made friends with the others. There is so much to see in Israel for any Christian and On the Go did a great job of choosing the highlights. This was a busy week with mostly early starts and longish days so expect to be busy if you want to cover a lot of places in the one week. Coaches were comfortable with aircon of course. ”  

The guide, Amir, was excellent. His knowledge was great, he was friendly and tidy in his presentation. He kept to the schedule that he had outlined at the beginning of each day. The transport was all in excellent condition, great driving considering the hilarious driving style in Egypt. The hotels were all excellent, except for the last night spent back up at Cairo after the time at the Red Sea. The last hotel for the single night was spent in a room that was heavily and uncomfortably smelly with tobacco. Other than that we were extremely happy with everything. I would like to go to Egypt again in the future, I felt safe, I enjoyed the people and the food. Thank you so much for a well organised tour that went to so many places that I didn't even realise existed. I am so glad that I booked and went. It is going to stay in my memory, the time spent with my 18 year old son before he goes off in to the world.
