Itinerary
Day 1 - San Francisco
Welcome to San Francisco. We arrange your transfer to the hotel – the rest of the day is free for you. You will receive details about the start of the tour this afternoon, or you can check the information boards at reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - San Francisco
After breakfast we set out on a panoramic city tour, taking in Union Square and its cable cars, Chinatown, the Financial District, the Theatre District, Civic Center and Alamo Square, where the Painted Ladies sit before the modern skyline. We continue via the Castro to Twin Peaks for sweeping views, then through historic Haight–Ashbury to pause in Golden Gate Park, finishing at the Golden Gate Bridge. The afternoon is free – you can join an optional visit to Sausalito for superb views of the city and the bay. In the evening we include a night transfer to North Beach – Little Italy – the lively heart of the city’s dining scene.
Day 3 - San Francisco - Monterey - Carmel - San Luis Obispo
After breakfast we drive to Monterey, where you can stroll along Cannery Row – former canneries now reborn as restaurants and entertainment venues. You have free time on the waterfront. We then continue to Carmel, an elegant seaside town with refined boutiques and art galleries, before travelling onward to San Luis Obispo for the night.
Day 4 - San Luis Obispo - Santa Barbara - Los Angeles
After breakfast we head for Los Angeles, pausing in Santa Barbara to see its impressive Mission and Mediterranean–style streets lined with shops and restaurants. You have some free time, then we continue to Los Angeles. Late in the afternoon we include a transfer to Downtown Disney to enjoy its lively streets and restaurants.
Day 5 - Los Angeles
After breakfast we set off on a panoramic tour, taking in the Music Center, Civic Center and Financial District via L.A. Live and the Staples Center. We follow Wilshire Boulevard west past Koreatown and the La Brea area to reach Beverly Hills, then cruise Sunset Boulevard to Hollywood for the Walk of Fame, the Dolby Theatre, the Chinese Theatre and views of the Hollywood sign. You have free time to stroll and have lunch. Late in the afternoon we include a transfer to Long Beach – palm trees set against gleaming towers – with time in Shoreline Village to wander and dine opposite the Queen Mary.
Day 6 - Los Angeles
After breakfast our services conclude.
