Day 1 - London
Upon your arrival in London, we will ensure your smooth transfer to the hotel, allowing you to settle in and unwind. You will have some free time to explore or relax as you please. In the afternoon, don't forget to check the hotel reception boards for crucial information regarding the start of your tour. It's worth noting that some travellers might join or leave the tour at different points, so our group dynamic might change, but rest assured that group size limits will always be respected. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - London
On the second day, we delve into the vibrant city of London. Our journey begins with a panoramic tour led by a knowledgeable local guide, highlighting the rich tapestry of culture and history that defines the capital. As we traverse the city, you'll have the opportunity to see iconic landmarks, including the majestic Houses of Parliament, the historic River Thames, and the grandeur of Buckingham Palace. Depending on the timing, you may even witness the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony.In the evening, we'll reconvene at a designated spot in Piccadilly. From there, we embark on a leisurely walk through the bustling streets of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho—areas celebrated for their lively ambience, theatres, and vibrant entertainment scene. These neighbourhoods offer a plethora of dining options for you to explore, allowing you to savour a delightful dinner before we regroup and return to our hotel.
Day 3 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
In the morning, we will explore the British Museum, renowned as one of the world's oldest cultural institutions, showcasing artefacts from across the globe. After some free time for lunch, you'll have the opportunity to visit Camden, famous for its dynamic and eclectic street market. Here, you can discover unique finds from around the world and savour lunch at one of the many charming eateries or street food stalls. Around 4:00 p.m., we will set off for Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk through its historical streets. Our journey continues to Harwich, where we'll board a ferry for an overnight voyage to the Netherlands, comfortably staying in en suite cabins. Please be aware that our itinerary may vary due to limited cabin availability on the ferry. We might opt for a daytime ferry from London to Amsterdam with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or alternatively, travel via train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 4 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
At approximately eight in the morning, we arrive in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland. Our first excursion is to Volendam, a delightful and scenic fishing village renowned for its quintessential Dutch charm. Following this visit, we proceed to Amsterdam, where we embark on a guided tour of the city. Our exploration will weave together a tapestry of the city's most striking features, from the iconic imagery of windmills and the statue of Rembrandt to the modern allure of the South District. Additionally, we will visit Museum Square, where the art of diamond cutting has been perfected over centuries. As we conclude this insightful city tour, we will disembark from the bus to wander into the core of Amsterdam, where the tour concludes. You will then have the remainder of the day at leisure to further explore and enjoy the city at your own pace.
Day 5 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
We set off from Amsterdam to Germany, with our first stop being the quaint town of Hamelin. Known for its charming streets, the town is famed for the legendary tale of the Pied Piper, as told by the Brothers Grimm. After exploring the attractions Hamelin has to offer, we continue our journey towards Berlin. En route, we pass through Marienborn, once the border checkpoint that divided East and West Germany until reunification in 1990. We arrive in the bustling city of Berlin later in the evening, ready to discover its rich history and vibrant culture.
Day 6 - Berlin
Today, you'll delve into the rich history of Berlin, Germany's captivating capital. Accompanied by a local guide, our tour will reveal the city's fascinating landmarks from the comfort of our coach. You'll glimpse Museum Island and the iconic Television Tower, explore the main shopping thoroughfares, and see the old cathedral, a poignant reminder of the destruction of World War II. Our route will take us to the historic Brandenburg Gate and the imposing Reichstag, as well as through Berlin's lush and expansive parks. We'll pause for visits to the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum—both bear witness to Germany's tumultuous past in the 20th century.The afternoon is yours to discover Berlin at leisure, whether you choose to dive deeper into its vibrant culture, sample local delicacies, or uncover hidden gems. As the day winds down, we'll whisk you to Kantstrasse, an area known for its lively atmosphere and array of dining options.
Day 7 - Berlin
Following breakfast, our adventure concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of the journey.
