Itinerary
Day 1 - San Jose - Liberia
Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría Airport, a representative will welcome you and escort you to your transport for the journey to your hotel. You will arrive in Rincón de la Vieja around 3:00 pm, located within Costa Rica’s sunny Guanacaste province and surrounded by the dry tropical forest of Rincón de la Vieja National Park. Take some time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities in this pristine natural setting. Overnight stay in Rincón de la Vieja.
Day 2 - Liberia
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we explore the natural wonders of Rincon de la Vieja. Our visit to the Las Pailas sector reveals the raw power of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, with fumaroles, geysers and bubbling mud pots on display. An expert guide leads us on a 3.5km circular walk through the dry tropical forest, offering excellent views of volcanic activity, diverse wildlife and the surrounding landscape. After the hike, we refresh with a swim at La Oropendola Waterfall. A short walk from the park entrance takes us to the river, where a brief wade leads to the impressive 25-metre waterfall cascading into a turquoise pool within the lush canyon of the Blanco River. We return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Rincon de la Vieja.
Day 3 - San Jose
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before being collected at the arranged time for your transfer to Juan Santamaría Airport.
