Day 1 - Zadar
Upon arrival at Zadar Airport, you will be welcomed by our local representative who will assist with your car hire and provide guidance for your departure day. Spend the remainder of the day exploring Zadar, a city that blends its Venetian heritage and former status as the capital of Dalmatia with a vibrant modern atmosphere. Wander through the historic centre, appreciate the architecture, and soak up the city’s unique character. Take time to enjoy a coffee in one of the lively cafés and savour a meal at a traditional restaurant. To enrich your experience, you may wish to book an optional two-hour guided tour of the city. Overnight accommodation is in Zadar.
Day 2 - Zadar - Plitvička Jezera
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we set off for Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of Croatia’s most remarkable natural treasures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by dense forests and rich biodiversity, the park is famed for its stunning lakes and cascading waterfalls. We explore the well-maintained trails, taking in the serene beauty of the landscape at a relaxed pace. You may wish to enhance your visit by joining an optional guided tour to learn more about the park’s unique environment and history. We then settle in for a comfortable overnight stay at your chosen hotel in Plitvice.
Day 3 - Trogir - Split
After breakfast, continue your exploration of Croatia by visiting Trogir, a town with origins dating back to ancient Greek times. Wander through its charming streets and admire the impressive castle, historic palaces, churches, and well-preserved medieval walls. Take in the stunning views of the surrounding blue waters that frame the town. We recommend joining our optional guided tour to gain deeper insight into Trogir’s rich history and cultural heritage. Overnight in the Trogir or Split region.
Day 4 - Trogir - Split - Dubrovnik
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before setting off towards Split, taking in the stunning Croatian landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, explore the city on foot, wandering through the narrow alleys of the remarkable old town centred around Diocletian’s Palace – a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the fourth century. To gain a deeper understanding of the city’s rich history and architecture, we recommend booking our optional two-hour guided tour. If you appreciate fine wine, consider joining our optional wine and olive oil tasting experience, where you can sample authentic Croatian varietals paired with local delicacies such as fleur de sel, aged red wine vinegar, and freshly baked bread. After your visit to Split, continue your journey to Dubrovnik and check into your hotel for the night.
Day 5 - Dubrovnik
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, begin your exploration of Dubrovnik, a city renowned for its remarkable history and stunning architecture. We offer a two-hour guided walking tour through the cobbled streets, revealing the city’s rich past and vibrant present, including its architectural gems and cultural highlights. Alternatively, you may choose the three-hour Cilipi Folklore tour, where you can experience traditional local customs through song and dance. Enjoy a warm welcome with grape brandy and figs as you enter the village of Čilipi, browse the market for authentic souvenirs, and soak up the lively Dalmatian music. For fans of Game of Thrones, there is a special excursion to Fortress Lovrijenac, known as The Red Keep, with views over the old town and filming locations such as King’s Landing and the Battle of Blackwater Bay. The tour includes a boat trip to the island of Lokrum, where you can learn about its history and recent transformation into the fictional city of Qarth. Keep an eye out for the island’s peacocks as you explore. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 6 - Dubrovnik
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on your final morning in Croatia. Afterwards, return your rental car at Dubrovnik Airport and prepare for your onward flight.
