You arrive in Bruges around 11:00 for a guided tour on foot or by bus lasting about two hours. Bruges is known for its medieval architecture and canals – highlights include the 83 metre Belfort bell tower on the market square, built in 1240 and part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing.
From 13:15–14:15 you have free time for lunch at a local restaurant of your choice. You then visit a local brewery bar from 14:30–15:30 for a tasting of six locally brewed beers. From 15:30–16:30 you take a canal boat trip with an audio guide to see the city from the water – the cruise itself lasts 30–45 minutes – followed by a little free time.
At 17:30 you depart for Antwerp – about 110 km, roughly 1 hour 45 minutes – arriving around 19:30. You check in to a hotel in the city centre. Antwerp is the historic heart of Flanders, associated with artists such as Rubens and van Dyck, and is a major centre for diamond cutting.
