
From Paris to Amsterdam Adventure
Set off from Paris and return there after 16 days, ticking off France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Netherlands and Belgium. Expect Versailles gardens and Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower with a Seine cruise. Cross the Channel to London’s icons, then head via Cambridge and York to Edinburgh for a tour and a Highlands foray – think Pitlochry, Loch Ness with a castle visit and cruise, and Glasgow. Sail to Belfast and on to Dublin, then via Caernarfon and Liverpool to Stratford and Oxford. An overnight ferry to Holland brings Volendam and Amsterdam’s canals, before Brussels’ Grand Place – finishing back in Paris.

Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris. On arrival, we arrange your transfer to the hotel, where you have free time to relax or explore at your own pace. In the afternoon, we will provide full information about the start of your tour – either in person or via the information signs at the hotel reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
We’ll travel to the Palace of Versailles – admission not included – to admire its renowned gardens. Back in Paris, we visit Montmartre, the bohemian neighbourhood known for its artists, painters and cabarets. We then take a panoramic city tour with a local guide, showcasing Paris’s grand avenues and iconic monuments, before returning to the hotel. In the evening, you can choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
We start in central Paris with a visit to the Eiffel Tower, heading up to the second floor – tickets included. We then take a relaxing cruise on the Seine. The afternoon is free for you to explore the city at your own pace.Around 4.00 pm we leave Paris for Normandy, arriving in Rouen. You’ll have free time to discover the historic centre, whose roots go back to the Roman era, with its medieval architecture and impressive Gothic cathedral.Please note – if waiting times at the Eiffel Tower are too long, we may reschedule the visit to a different time or to Sunday.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
We begin with time to stroll through Rouen’s historic centre. We then travel north through France and cross the English Channel by ferry to reach Canterbury – England’s ecclesiastical capital, known for its historic centre. Our journey continues to London, where you’ll have free time around the Tower Bridge area – one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks – before we head to the hotel.
Day 5 - London
Today we explore London on a panoramic tour with a local guide, taking in the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames and Buckingham Palace – if dates and schedules align, we may witness the Changing of the Guard. In the evening, we’ll meet in Piccadilly and stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown and Soho – lively areas known for their theatres and entertainment. You can choose where to dine before we return to the hotel.
Day 6 - London - Cambridge - York - Durham
We leave London and travel north to Cambridge, where we’ll admire the historic university colleges. After lunch, we continue to York to see its magnificent cathedral, Roman walls and lively shopping streets. You’ll have some free time to explore at your own pace. We then proceed further north to Durham, a characterful medieval city with a superb cathedral set opposite the castle.
Day 7 - Durham - Alnwick - Edinburgh
We travel north into Scotland, stopping in Alnwick – a picturesque town known for its beautiful gardens and large medieval castle, famously featured in the Harry Potter films. We then continue to Edinburgh, arriving around midday. Scotland’s capital has a UNESCO–listed historic centre, with Edinburgh Castle overlooking the city’s steep streets and parks. We enjoy a panoramic tour with a local guide.
Day 8 - Edinburgh - Inverness - Loch Ness - Fort Augustus - Glasgow
We set out through the Scottish Highlands, beginning with a coffee stop and short stroll in Pitlochry. Continuing via Inverness towards Loch Ness, we visit Urquhart Castle – admission included – before boarding a boat for a cruise on the loch. We then pass Fort Augustus with its sluice system and continue to Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis. Heading south, we cross the high plateaus – often snow-dusted – and skirt the shores of Loch Lomond, reaching Glasgow at the end of the day.Important note: For groups arriving in Edinburgh from 15 November to the end of February, we follow an adjusted route due to shorter days and frequent snow. We depart at 08:00 for Pitlochry (09:45–11:15), visiting a traditional whisky distillery – admission included. We continue to Stirling (12:30–15:30), whose historic centre is dominated by Stirling Castle – tickets included – one of Scotland’s most significant castles. After time for lunch, we stop to photograph The Kelpies before continuing to Glasgow, arriving around 17:00 with time to stroll through the city centre.
Day 9 - Glasgow - Belfast - Dublin
Leaving Glasgow, we travel south to Cairnryan to board the ferry to Northern Ireland. We arrive in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland – a monumental city that has emerged from its historical religious conflicts. We then continue into Ireland, reaching Dublin by the end of the day.
Day 10 - Dublin
This morning we take a panoramic tour of Dublin – Ireland’s capital – following the River Liffey, its parks and the lively streets of the city centre. We also see the exterior of Trinity College. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. Note: Depending on our arrival time in Dublin and the hours of daylight, this tour may run the previous afternoon.
Day 11 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
We board an early‑morning ferry from Dublin – a crossing of around three to three and a half hours – to reach Wales. Our first stop is Caernarfon, a seaside town dominated by its impressive castle and part of a World Heritage Site. We’ll pause here for lunch and a relaxed stroll before continuing to Liverpool, where we’ll take a short orientation tour by bus of this historic port city. If you’re interested, you can visit a Beatles museum.
Day 12 - Liverpool - Stratford - Oxford - London
Today we travel through central England. Our first stop is Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s hometown – you’ll have free time to explore and choose a place for lunch. We then continue to Oxford, renowned for its long tradition of learning and for educating kings, politicians, philosophers and scientists. We’ll carry on to London, arriving in the evening.
Day 13 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
This morning we visit the British Museum – one of the world’s oldest – to see collections from across the world. Around lunchtime, you have some free time before we continue to Camden, renowned for its vibrant market – you can browse for unique artefacts and choose lunch at a restaurant or food stand. Around 4:00 p.m., we leave London for Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England, for a relaxed stroll through its historic centre, then continue to Harwich to board the overnight ferry to the Netherlands. We stay in en suite cabins on board. Important note: due to limited cabin availability, the itinerary may be adjusted – we might travel from London to Amsterdam by daytime ferry with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or alternatively take a train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 14 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
Around 08:00 we arrive in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland and continue to Volendam, a traditional fishing village. We then travel to Amsterdam for a guided tour that blends classic and contemporary sights – a windmill view and the Rembrandt statue, the elegant South District, and an introduction to diamond cutting around Museum Square. The tour ends at Central Station, where your guide will share practical advice so you can explore the canals and street markets independently.
Day 15 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast, we travel to Belgium – just over 200 km to Brussels, the capital and seat of key European institutions. Before reaching the centre, we make a brief stop at the Atomium – the city’s most recognisable landmark – then continue to admire the Grand Place, a showcase of Flemish Baroque, and stroll past the famous Manneken Pis. In the afternoon, we continue into France, arriving in Paris at the end of the day.
Day 16 - Paris
After breakfast, we conclude the tour in Paris – our services end here. We hope you leave with wonderful memories of the journey and a smooth onward trip.
