Day 1 - Paris - Rouen
Welcome to the start of your journey! We'll begin our adventure in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. We will ascend to the second floor of this impressive iron structure, providing stunning views of the city � tickets are included. Following this, we'll enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Seine. You'll then have the afternoon free to explore the enchanting streets of Paris at your own pace. At around 4:00 p.m., we'll depart for Normandy, heading to the historic city of Rouen. Here, you will have the opportunity to wander through the medieval town centre, steeped in history dating back to Roman times, with its charming architecture and an impressive Gothic cathedral standing as a testament to its rich past. Please note: if the waiting time at the Eiffel Tower is exceptionally long, we may reschedule our visit to ensure a more comfortable experience for everyone. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
This morning we will explore the heart of Rouen, allowing you to soak in its rich history and picturesque setting. Later, we'll journey northwards through France, taking a ferry across the English Channel to arrive in Canterbury, renowned as England's religious capital. With its delightful historic centre, Canterbury offers a charming introduction to England. Our travels will then take us to London, where you will have some free time to explore the iconic Tower Bridge area. This bustling part of the city offers various sights and activities as we wind down before heading to our accommodation for the night.
Day 3 - London
Today, you'll embark on a comprehensive tour of London, guided by a local expert who will introduce you to the vibrant culture and rich history of this iconic city. Our panoramic tour will include landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the majestic River Thames, and the renowned Buckingham Palace, where you might be lucky enough to witness the Changing of the Guard, depending on our timing. As evening approaches, we'll reconvene at Piccadilly for a leisurely stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. Leaving Durham behind, we venture into the captivating landscapes of Scotland, with our first stop in Alnwick. This charming town is home to remarkable gardens and a grand medieval castle, famously featured in the Harry Potter films. We then continue our journey to Edinburgh, arriving around midday. As Scotland�s capital and one of the most vibrant cities in Northern Europe, Edinburgh boasts a UNESCO World Heritage Site at its heart. The city is defined by its picturesque streets and parks, overlooked by the iconic Edinburgh Castle. Departing Edinburgh, we visit the striking sculptures of The Kelpies, capturing the allure of mythical horse spirits and symbolising Scotland's enduring bond with nature. Our journey continues to Stirling, where you'll explore its grand historic centre dominated by the famed Stirling Castle. This fortress has played host to pivotal moments in Scotland's past, including legendary battles and royal coronations�entry is included. Moving northward, we pause in Pitlochry, a charming town nestled in Scotland's whisky-producing heartland, where you'll have time for lunch and a leisurely stroll. Continuing, we visit Culloden, site of the historic battle between Scottish and British forces, a turning point in Scottish history with lasting cultural impacts.In the evening, we reach Inverness, often called the "Capital of the Highlands." You might enjoy an evening walk along the River Ness, taking in the views of the city's distinctive suspension bridge and castle. Note: Our stop in Culloden may shift to Monday, depending on daylight and the season.
Day 8 - Inverness
On Day 8, we journey through the enchanting landscapes of northern Scotland, marked by dramatic lochs, ancient forests, and rugged fjords. Our first stop is the mesmerising Eilean Donan Castle, a picturesque site surrounded by water in the heart of the fjord, where you can wander through its historic halls with tickets included. We then travel to Fort Augustus, where you can observe the ingenious sluice gate system before enjoying some free time for lunch and a casual stroll.In the afternoon, we head to the famed Loch Ness, where you will embark on a boat tour across its mysterious waters. This is followed by a visit to the medieval ruins of Urquhart Castle, with admission included, offering insights into Scotland's storied past. Our day concludes back in Inverness, the 'Capital of the Highlands', located at the gateway of Loch Ness. Here, we deep dive into Scotland's culture with a visit to a traditional whisky distillery, complete with tastings to savour this iconic national drink. The day�s adventures underscore the blend of natural beauty and rich history that defines the Scottish Highlands. Please note that the distillery visit may take place either late Sunday or on Monday, depending on ticket availability. After these engagements, accommodation will be provided in Inverness.
Day 9 - Inverness - Fort William - Inveraray - Loch Lomond - Glasgow
Today, we'll continue to be captivated by Scotland's breathtaking landscapes. Starting our journey in Spean Bridge, we'll visit a moving monument dedicated to World War II. Our next destination is Fort William, a vibrant hub nestled at the base of Ben Nevis, the tallest peak in the United Kingdom. As we proceed, we'll pass by the enchanting ruins of Kilchurn Castle, beautifully situated beside a dark, tranquil lake.Our travels bring us to Inveraray, a quaint historic village located along the shores of Loch Fyne. Here, you'll find time for lunch and a wander through its serene streets, with its grand castle offering a striking backdrop. After our visit, we will journey alongside the picturesque banks of Loch Lomond. Day 10 - Glasgow - Belfast - Dublin
Leaving Glasgow behind, we journey south through Scotland to the port town of Cairnryan. Here, we board a ferry that will carry us across the sea to Northern Ireland. Our arrival in Belfast unveils a city rich in history, slowly moving beyond its past of religious tensions. After a brief exploration, we continue on to the Republic of Ireland, concluding our day in the vibrant city of Dublin. As the day winds down, you'll find yourself in the heart of Ireland, ready to explore all that this lively capital has to offer.
Day 11 - Dublin
Today, we immerse ourselves in the charming capital of Ireland with a panoramic tour of Dublin. As we stroll along the banks of the River Liffey, you'll find an enchanting blend of historic and modern attractions. We will take in the serene beauty of the city's lush parks and explore the vibrancy of its central streets. Day 12 - Dublin - Powerscourt - Kilkenny - Cashel - Cork

Here, you can admire grand fountains, the serene Japanese Gardens, and even a unique pet cemetery. Day 13 - Cork - Kinsale - Killarney - Limerick
Today we depart for the charming coastal town of Kinsale, stopping en route at the 17th-century Charles Fort, where you'll be captivated by the stunning ocean views. Once in Kinsale, one of Ireland�s most beautiful seaside towns, you'll have free time to explore its historic centre. Following this, we journey to Killarney, a popular destination set in the heart of Ireland. Here, you'll have the opportunity to savour lunch and wander around the delightful town. Later, we'll embark on a jaunting car tour through Killarney National Park, where we'll glide through scenic gardens and along the tranquil lake to Ross Castle, known for its picturesque lakeside views. A short cruise is included, offering a perfect chance to soak in the surrounding serene beauty. Our adventure continues with a brief stop in Adare, a quaint village renowned for its charming stone and thatched-roof cottages and the remnants of an old abbey. Day 14 - Limerick - Cliffs of Moher - Galway
Today, our adventure takes us to Bunratty Folk Park, where we will delve into Ireland's past amidst traditional cottages and old markets. The park's centrepiece, Bunratty Castle, offers a vivid representation of medieval life. Our journey continues to Caherconnell, the site of the remarkable Poulnabrone Dolmen, where with any luck, we might witness a traditional sheepdog demonstration. The highlight of the day awaits at the Cliffs of Moher, where the dramatic cliffs offer breathtaking ocean views (admission included). For those interested, there's an optional walk to O'Brien's Tower for a unique vantage point. Here, we will explore the ruins of the Royal Abbey and enjoy a stroll around Ashford Castle, a stunning medieval castle now serving as a hotel. Our journey then takes us to Clonmacnoise, where we will visit the impressive Celtic monastic ruins, with tickets and a guided tour included. Later, we continue towards Dublin, arriving in the evening.
Day 16 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
In the morning, we�ll set sail on a ferry from Dublin to Wales, a journey that spans three to three-and-a-half hours across the Irish Sea. Upon our arrival, our first stop is the historic town of Caernarfon. This charming seaside destination is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its formidable medieval castle, which stands as a testament to Welsh history. You'll have time to enjoy lunch and wander through the atmospheric streets. After taking in the rich heritage of Caernarfon, we�ll make our way to Liverpool. There, we�ll embark on a brief bus tour that highlights Liverpool's significant status as a World Heritage Site and its historic role as the UK's second-largest port. Once the tour has concluded, you might consider delving into the city�s rich musical past with a visit to The Beatles Museum.
Day 17 - Liverpool - Stratford - Oxford - Portsmouth - Saint-Malo Ferry
Today, we journey through southern England, beginning with a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of the legendary playwright William Shakespeare. You'll have the opportunity to savour lunch and explore the charming streets of this historic town. Our travels then take us to Oxford, a city rich in educational heritage, known for its prestigious university where numerous influential figures, including kings and scholars, have studied. Later, we continue to Portsmouth to board a modern ferry headed to France. You will spend the night on board in en-suite double cabins with bunk beds. It's wise to prepare a carry-on bag for your overnight stay as breakfast is not included. Please note, the ferry crossing may occasionally alter its itinerary due to availability.
Day 18 - Portsmouth - Saint-Malo Ferry - Mont-Saint-Michel - Saint-Malo - Dinan - Rennes
Upon arriving in Normandy, we'll make our way to the renowned Mont-Saint-Michel. Known as "The Marvel," this picturesque site is set against the backdrop of the sea, housing an awe-inspiring abbey. Here, you�ll have the opportunity to wander and soak in its unique charm and breathtaking views. Following our visit, we�ll head into Brittany where we�ll stop at Saint-Malo. This city is famous for its formidable walls and vibrant maritime history. You�ll find ample eateries for lunch and have a chance to explore this quaint locale. Our journey then takes us to Dinan, a delightful Breton village where we�ll indulge in local treats with a crepe and a drink. We'll conclude the day in Rennes, the capital of Brittany, noted for its intriguing historic centre.
Day 19 - Rennes - Angers - Tours - Villandry - Amboise
Today, we set off for Angers, where those interested can visit the castle renowned for housing the world's largest medieval tapestry, depicting the Apocalypse. Our adventure continues as we make our way to the picturesque Loire Valley, arriving in the city of Tours. Nestled on the banks of the Loire River, Tours serves as the region's capital and offers a perfect spot for you to unwind and enjoy lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, we�ll explore the Ch�teau de Villandry, famed for its stunning flower-filled gardens�admission to the gardens is included. As the day winds down, we head to Amboise for our stay. This city is famed for its captivating medieval quarter, where we�ll also enjoy an included dinner.
Day 20 - Amboise - Chenonceaux - Chambord - Paris
On day 20, we'll embark on a fascinating exploration of the Loire Valley, renowned for its stunning ch�teaux and rich history. Our day begins in Amboise, where you'll have the opportunity to wander through this charming town. It is here that the Ch�teaux du Clos Luc�, the final residence of the legendary Leonardo da Vinci, is located. Following this, we venture to the iconic Ch�teau de Chenonceau, strategically built across the River Cher. Tickets are included for this architectural masterpiece, allowing us to appreciate its elegance and history. Our journey continues to Chambord, where we'll visit the largest castle in the Loire Valley. The park surrounding Chambord offers scenic views and a glimpse into the past. Our day of discovery will conclude as we make our way back to Paris, arriving in the evening.
