Day 1 - Berlin
Welcome to your tour! Upon arrival in Berlin, we will provide your transfer to the hotel, where you will have some leisure time to relax after your journey. Later in the afternoon, you'll find important details regarding the commencement of your tour on the notice boards located in the hotel reception area. Make the most of this opportunity to begin familiarising yourself with the vibrant city of Berlin. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
On the second day, dive into the vibrant atmosphere of Berlin, Germany’s fascinating capital, with an insightful tour led by a knowledgeable local guide. We'll take in the sights from our comfortable coach, passing notable landmarks such as Museum Island, the Television Tower, and the bustling main shopping streets of the city centre. We'll see the remnants of the old cathedral, which was destroyed during World War II, and explore the iconic Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. Enjoy the sprawling city parks as we travel through the city. Significant stops include the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, poignant reminders of Germany’s challenging 20th-century history. After our guided tour, you will have the afternoon to wander and experience Berlin at your leisure. In the early evening, we'll transport you to the lively Kantstrasse area for an evening of local dining and entertainment.
Day 3 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
On the third day of our journey, we set off from Berlin, travelling through lush forests towards Dresden, a city celebrated for its outstanding architectural and artistic heritage, which ranks among Germany's premier tourist destinations. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore some of Dresden's remarkable palaces and perhaps indulge in lunch at one of the charming local eateries or coffee houses. Later in the day, we continue our travels to the Czech Republic, arriving in the vibrant city of Prague. We'll make our way to the lively Old Town Square, an energetic hub brimming with activities—perfect for your first taste of Prague. You can choose from a diverse range of restaurants, offering international cuisines such as Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian, for your dining pleasure. After this enriching day, we return to the hotel for the evening.
Day 4 - Prague
On the fourth day, we delve into the splendour of Prague, known as Europe's Baroque gem. Our day begins with an insightful panoramic tour led by our local guide, who will showcase the city's most iconic landmarks. A highlight of the day is our visit to Prague Castle, where entry is included in our excursion. Following this, we will enjoy a relaxing boat ride along the Vltava River, offering a unique perspective of the city's historic skyline. The afternoon is yours to discover the charms of Prague at your leisure – wander through its enchanting streets, perhaps visit a museum, or savour the local cuisine at a delightful café.
Day 5 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
Today, we set off early towards Bavaria, Germany. By midday, we will arrive in Munich, where you will have the opportunity to wander through the city's historic centre and perhaps enjoy a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon, our journey continues to Austria, where we reach Innsbruck, the charming capital of Tyrol nestled in the heart of the Alps. You'll have time to explore the city, and later, you can savour dinner in the atmospheric Golden Roof area and Innsbruck's Old Town.
Day 6 - Innsbruck - Zurich
Begin your day in Innsbruck with a visit to the renowned Swarovski Museum, the epitome of crystal craftsmanship. We will delve into its expansive gardens and discover the fascinating process behind the creation of these brilliant pieces. Following this, you have some free time to wander and soak in the local culture. Later, we set off for Zurich, travelling through picturesque Tyrolean landscapes. Once in Zurich, enjoy your evening exploring the historic city centre by the lake. You'll find a diverse selection of restaurants to choose from, offering Indian, Oriental, Italian, International, and authentic Swiss cuisine.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today, we embark on a remarkable journey through stunning landscapes, characterised by soaring mountains and pristine lakes in the Interlaken region. Our first stop is Grindelwald, where we'll pause for a coffee break before taking a cable car ride up the mountain. Once at the top, we'll stroll along a winding path leading to a suspended bridge. For those feeling adventurous, crossing the bridge provides breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers. We'll enjoy lunch on the mountain, an experience included in your itinerary, before making our descent. Our next destination is Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most picturesque cities, where you’ll have ample time to explore and soak in the charming cityscape. Finally, we return to Zurich. Note: An optional full-day excursion is available, offering a thrilling ride in a rotating cable car to the peak of Mount Titlis. At over 3,000 metres, the alpine summit delivers awe-inspiring views of the glacier and the majestic Alps.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
Leaving Zurich in the early morning, we traverse the breathtaking Alps to enter the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Our first stop is Bellinzona, renowned for its trio of medieval castles that stand as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These majestic fortresses, perched on the hills overlooking the city, highlight Bellinzona’s historical importance as a vital alpine stronghold. You'll have free time to meander through the charming streets of the town centre, soaking in its rich past. Continuing our journey, we cross the border into Italy and pause in the picturesque town of Como for lunch. Often hailed as the jewel of Lombardy, Como is celebrated for its beautiful lakeside gardens and a remarkable cathedral. We then proceed to Milan, where our guide will introduce you to the impressive Piazza del Duomo. You'll have time to explore the area at your leisure before we transfer you to the hotel.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today, we make our way to Pisa, where we’ll hop aboard a small tourist train to the iconic Piazza dei Miracoli, also known as the Square of Miracles. Here, you'll have the opportunity to marvel at one of Italy's most impressive art complexes, home to the renowned Leaning Tower of Pisa. After taking in the spectacular sights, we'll continue our journey to Rome, aiming to arrive later in the day.
Day 10 - Rome
In the morning, we set off on a three-hour guided exploration of Rome, immersing ourselves in the rich history of the Eternal City. Our tour begins with a walking tour through the legendary Imperial Rome, where we'll see key sites like the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the mighty Colosseum, and the breathtaking Imperial Forums. Following this, we'll take a panoramic bus journey to view more of Rome's historical masterpieces, including the Circus Maximus, the extravagant Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the distinctive Pyramid of Cestius, and the formidable Castel Sant'Angelo. The tour concludes around 11 a.m. at Vatican City. Here, you may choose to join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel to delve deeper into the city's artistic wonders. As the day winds down, we provide a transfer to the vibrant Trastevere neighbourhood, a lively area perfect for a leisurely evening with its charming restaurants offering authentic Roman dining experiences. We'll return to the hotel at approximately 8:30 p.m. to rest and reflect on the day's cultural adventures.
Day 11 - Rome - Florence
Today, we travel northwards from Rome, soaking in the picturesque landscapes en route to Florence. Upon arrival, we head straight to the magnificent Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the sweeping views of the city. From there, we make our way to the historic centre. After some free time to enjoy lunch, we embark on a guided walking tour led by a local expert. We'll explore the rich history and architectural splendour of Florence, visiting iconic sites such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. This enchanting city truly feels like an open-air museum. You will have additional free time to delve into the city's charm at your own pace. In the evening, Florence's vibrant dining scene awaits you, offering a multitude of restaurants with diverse international cuisines.
Day 12 - Florence - Venice
Today, we embark on a picturesque journey across the Apennine mountain range as we travel to Venice. Upon arrival, we will board a boat to traverse the Giudecca Canal, taking us to the enchanting Island of Venice. Guided by a local expert, we'll explore the iconic St. Mark’s Square, a hub of culture and history. Our tour includes a visit to the renowned Murano Glass Factory, where you'll witness the intricate artistry behind the creation of Murano glass. Afterwards, you'll have some free time to wander through Venice's charming streets at your own pace. Tonight, our accommodation will be in the Mestre district, where you can unwind and reflect on the day's experiences.
