Day 1 - Berlin
Upon arrival in Berlin, we'll transfer you to your hotel where you'll have some free time to settle in. In the afternoon, you can find detailed information about the start of your tour on the notice boards at the hotel reception. This first day is yours to relax and prepare for the journey ahead.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Berlin
We begin the day with a guided tour of Berlin, Germany's vibrant capital. From the coach, we'll take in key sights including Museum Island, the Television Tower, the central shopping streets, the ruins of the old cathedral destroyed during the Second World War, Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag building, and the city's extensive parks. We'll stop to visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum'two important sites that reflect Germany's complex 20th-century history. You'll have the afternoon at leisure to explore Berlin independently. Later, we'll transfer you to the lively Kantstrasse area for the evening.
Day 3 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
We travel through forests to Dresden, a city celebrated for its outstanding architecture and artistic heritage, making it one of Germany's premier tourist destinations. You'll have time to explore some of the impressive palaces and enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants or cafes. Later, we continue to the Czech Republic and arrive in Prague. We'll visit the lively Old Town Square, a bustling area perfect for your first impression of the city. You can choose from a wide range of restaurants here offering various international cuisines - including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian - before we return to the hotel for the evening.
Day 4 - Prague
Today, we explore Prague, often described as Europe's Baroque gem. A local guide will take us on a panoramic tour of the city, showcasing its most remarkable landmarks, including a visit inside Prague Castle, with admission included. Following the castle, we'll enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Vltava River. The afternoon is yours to discover the city at your own pace.
Day 5 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We depart early, travelling to Bavaria in Germany. Arriving in Munich by midday, you'll have free time to explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, we continue into Austria, reaching Innsbruck nestled in the Alps. There will be time to explore Innsbruck's Old Town and the area around the Golden Roof before dinner.
Day 6 - Innsbruck - Zurich
We start the day with a visit to the Swarovski Museum, renowned for its impressive crystal creations. We'll explore the museum's gardens and discover how these exquisite pieces are crafted. Afterwards, you'll have some free time to wander around Innsbruck before we travel to Zurich, enjoying the scenic Tyrolean landscapes en route. On arrival in Zurich, spend the evening at your leisure in the city's historic centre by the lake, where a broad selection of restaurants offers Indian, Oriental, Italian, international and Swiss cuisine.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's journey presents striking alpine scenery, with towering mountains and crystal-clear lakes. We travel through the scenic Interlaken region, pausing in Grindelwald for a coffee break. From there, we take a cable car up the mountain, followed by a walk along a winding path to a suspended bridge offering spectacular views of the surrounding glaciers - crossing the bridge is an option for those seeking a bit of adventure. Lunch is included on the mountain before we descend and continue to Lucerne. You'll have free time to explore one of Switzerland's most charming cities, known for its picturesque old town and waterfront. Later, we return to Zurich for the evening. Your guide will also offer an optional full-day excursion starting in the morning, which includes free time in Lucerne and a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis at over 3,000 metres, where you can take in breathtaking glacier and alpine views.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We leave Zurich early and cross the Alps into the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Our first stop is Bellinzona, famous for its three medieval castles, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Situated on the hills above the town, these castles reflect Bellinzona's historic role as an important alpine fortress. You'll have some free time to explore the charming streets of the old town centre. We then continue into Italy, arriving in Como for lunch. Known as the jewel of Lombardy, Como is admired for its lakeside gardens and its impressive cathedral. After lunch, we travel on to Milan, where our guide will lead us to the striking Piazza del Duomo. You'll have time to wander here before we transfer you to your hotel for the evening.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today, we continue our journey to Pisa. Upon arrival, we'll take a short ride on a tourist train to the Piazza dei Miracoli, home to one of Italy's most impressive and recognisable architectural ensembles, including the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. You'll have time to explore and admire this remarkable site before we travel on to Rome, arriving later in the day.
Day 10 - Rome
This morning, we'll embark on a three-hour guided tour of Rome, blending a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic coach drive. You'll see some of the city's most iconic sites, including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant-Angelo. The tour concludes in Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., after which you can join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we'll transfer you to the lively Trastevere neighbourhood, known for its charming restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. We'll return to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
Day 11 - Rome - Florence
We leave Rome this morning, travelling north through the scenic Tuscan countryside. On arrival in Florence, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, where you can take in stunning panoramic views of the city. From there, we walk towards the historic centre for a guided tour with a local expert, visiting iconic sites including the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria - Florence is truly an open-air museum. After some time for lunch, you'll have free time to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, the area offers a wide range of restaurants serving various international cuisines for you to choose from.
Day 12 - Florence - Venice
We begin the day travelling across the Apennine Mountains, taking in the striking alpine scenery en route to Venice. Upon arrival, we board a boat to cross the Giudecca Canal and reach the heart of the city. A local guide will lead us through the iconic St Mark's Square, showcasing its remarkable architecture and history. Later, we visit the Murano Glass Factory to witness the skilled craftsmanship behind these renowned glassworks. You will then have some free time to explore Venice independently before we settle in for the night in the Mestre district.
Day 13 - Venice
After breakfast, the tour concludes, leaving you with wonderful memories of your journey.
