Itinerary
Day 1 - Ahmedabad
Arrive at Ahmedabad airport, where we meet you for a smooth transfer to your hotel. We then begin exploring with a visit to Sabarmati Ashram, closely linked to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and teachings, followed by the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, renowned for its intricate stone latticework and a fine example of Indo–Islamic architecture. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Ahmedabad
After breakfast, we set out from Ahmedabad on a full‑day excursion to Adalaj Stepwell, the Modhera Sun Temple and Rani ki Vav. At Adalaj Stepwell we explore its tiered pavilions and finely carved stonework. We continue to Modhera Sun Temple, dedicated to the Sun God and noted for its balanced layout and detailed sculpture. At Rani ki Vav – a UNESCO World Heritage site – we take in the outstanding stepwell engineering and richly carved panels. Back in Ahmedabad, we explore Gujarat’s material culture at the Calico Museum of Textiles and the Shreyas Folk Museum. We return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3 - Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad to Udaipur – 260 kilometres – approximately 5 hours. We depart Ahmedabad and drive to Udaipur, the City of Lakes. On arrival, we check in to the hotel and you can take a little time to settle in. In the evening, we enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Lake Pichola, with panoramic views of the surrounding palaces and landscapes. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 - Udaipur
We spend the day discovering Udaipur. We begin at the City Palace, a grand complex of palaces, courtyards and gardens that showcases Rajput architecture and views over Lake Pichola. We then visit the nearby Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and noted for its finely carved stonework. From the lakeside we continue to Jag Mandir – an island palace on Lake Pichola – to appreciate its marble detail and calm setting. Later, we explore the fountains and pavilions of Saheliyon ki Bari, before driving up to Sajjangarh Palace – also known as the Monsoon Palace – for panoramic views of the Aravalli hills and the city, especially at sunset. We also visit Bagore ki Haveli, a historic mansion turned museum with collections of traditional costumes, musical instruments and royal portraits. We round off the day with a relaxed walk through Udaipur’s lively streets, where markets and cafés offer a snapshot of daily life. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 - Udaipur - Ahmedabad
We depart Udaipur and drive to Ahmedabad – about 260 km, approximately five hours by road. On arrival, we’ll arrange your transfer to your hotel or to Ahmedabad airport, bringing your tour to a close.
