Itinerary
Day 1 - Guwahati
On arrival at Guwahati airport, our representative meets you and assists with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, you can relax and freshen up. We then visit Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hill – an important Shakti shrine noted for its architecture and spiritual significance – before we explore Navagraha Temple, dedicated to the nine celestial bodies of Hindu astrology. We continue to Umananda Island on the Brahmaputra – the world’s smallest inhabited river island – to visit the Umananda Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, we take a peaceful sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra, then return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park
After breakfast in Guwahati, we drive to Kaziranga National Park – about 200 km, roughly 4 hours – a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its population of the iconic one horned rhinoceros. On arrival, we check in at the hotel and unwind amidst the tranquillity of the surroundings. Later in the afternoon, we head out on a safari through the park, with opportunities to spot diverse wildlife including tigers, elephants and wild water buffaloes as we travel through tall grasslands, marshes and dense forests. We return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Safari in Kaziranga National Park
After an early breakfast, we set out for a full day in Kaziranga National Park. This morning we take a safari through the central and eastern ranges — areas known for rich birdlife and scenic vistas. In the afternoon we continue our wildlife search on a safari in the western range — keeping watch for rhinos, tigers and other species. We return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and time to relax — overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 - Kaziranga Safari & Majuli Island
Kaziranga – Majuli (150 km – approx. 4 hours). After breakfast at the resort, we set out on a morning safari in Kaziranga National Park. We then drive to Majuli and check in at the lodge, with time to freshen up. We explore the island’s cultural heritage, rooted in Neo–Vaishnavite traditions and vibrant tribal communities, and visit a Mishing village to meet locals and learn about their way of life. We also take in Majuli’s lush landscapes and notable birdlife. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional dinner at the lodge accompanied by cultural performances. Overnight at the lodge in Majuli.
Day 5 - Journey to Jorhat
After breakfast in Majuli, we travel to Kamalabari Ghat and board the ferry to Jorhat – a journey of around 40 km and about 1 hour. On arrival, we set out on a city tour of India’s tea capital. We visit a tea estate to learn about the process from cultivation to processing and savour a cup of freshly brewed Assam tea. We also stop at historic sites such as Thengal Bhawan and Bangalpukhari Tank, reflecting the region’s heritage. We conclude with a transfer to Jorhat airport for your onward journey.
