Itinerary
Day 1 - New Delhi - Delhi
Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, a tour representative will welcome you and escort you to your hotel for check-in. Delhi is a vibrant city where history and modernity coexist, shaping its unique cultural and architectural landscape. If you prefer to rest after your flight, you are welcome to relax at the hotel and enjoy its facilities. Alternatively, you may choose to explore the city independently and get a first impression of this dynamic metropolis. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2 - Delhi
After breakfast, we explore Old Delhi, visiting some of the city's most significant historical and cultural sites. We view Jama Masjid, the grand mosque dating from the 17th century, situated in the lively Chandi Chowk area. On the way, we pass the Red Fort, a prominent Mughal fortress. Next, we visit Raj Ghat, the solemn memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon, we tour key landmarks of New Delhi, beginning with the Qutub Minar - the tallest brick minaret in the world and a fine example of Indo-Islamic architecture. We continue through the Rashtrapati Bhavan district, home to important government buildings and the national parliament, reflecting the political power of British India. The tour also includes the Gateway of India monument and Connaught Place, the city's main commercial centre. We return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 3 - Delhi - Jaipur
After breakfast, we depart for Jaipur, known as the 'Pink City' of Rajasthan. En route, we stop for lunch at Shahpura Haveli, an elegant restaurant set within a traditional countryside mansion. After lunch, we continue to Jaipur and attend the Aarti ceremony at the Birla Temple, a modern Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The remainder of the day is at your leisure following hotel check-in. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 4 - Jaipur
After breakfast, we travel to Amber Fort, perched on a hill just outside Jaipur. Its strong walls enclose a remarkable complex of palaces, temples and gardens. We ascend to the fort in a traditional jeep without air conditioning. Inside, we explore the splendid Jagmandir and Jai Mahal palaces, the Kali temple and its well-maintained gardens. In the afternoon, we visit Jaipur's key landmarks, including the City Palace with highlights such as the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal and the ornately decorated Peacock Gate. We also pass by the iconic Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds, and tour the historic Jantar Mantar observatory before returning to the hotel for the evening.
Day 5 - Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
After breakfast, we depart for Agra, travelling through the arid landscapes of Rajasthan. En route, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, the well-preserved "ghost city" built by Emperor Akbar the Great as the Mughal capital in the 16th century. Here, we explore a remarkable complex of palaces, pavilions and mosques that reflect the empire's former power and wealth. Highlights include the Salim Chisti Mausoleum, the Panch Mahal and the Jama Masjid. After this fascinating visit, we continue to Agra for hotel check-in and an evening at leisure.
Day 6 - Agra
After breakfast, we visit the Taj Mahal, a stunning marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. This iconic monument took 22 years to complete, with skilled craftsmen and architects brought in from as far as Italy and France. In the afternoon, we explore Agra Fort, a formidable red sandstone fortress housing numerous Mughal palaces and pavilions. Inside, we see the Diwan-i-Am, the Hall of Public Audience, where the emperor met his subjects, and the Diwan-i-Khas, the Hall of Private Audience, reserved for foreign dignitaries. The fort also features the Mina Masjid, a serene white marble mosque contrasting with the surrounding structures. We return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Agra.
