Day 1 - Mumbai
Arrive in Mumbai, where we meet you at the international airport and arrange a smooth transfer to your hotel. We assist with check in and settling into your room – please note the standard check-in time is 2:00 PM. Take time to relax and freshen up after your journey, then enjoy some leisure time to acclimatise to the city’s vibrant pace. In the evening, you may take a stroll through the bustling streets or choose a relaxed dinner at one of Mumbai’s renowned restaurants to sample the city’s culinary highlights. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 - Mumbai
After breakfast, we board a ferry from the Gateway of India to Elephanta Island for a memorable visit to the Elephanta Caves. The crossing offers wide views of the Mumbai skyline and the Arabian Sea. On the island, we explore the ancient rock cut temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, dating from the 5th–6th centuries, and admire the intricate sculptures depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. Returning to Mumbai, we visit Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya to view its collection of art and historical artefacts, then continue through the lively Kala Ghoda neighbourhood – home to galleries, cafes and boutiques. We round off the day with a relaxed stroll along Marine Drive, popularly known as the Queen’s Necklace, before visiting the Hanging Gardens on Malabar Hill for panoramic city views. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Mumbai
Mumbai – Nashik (170 km/4 hrs)After breakfast, we leave Mumbai for Nashik, a city known for its spiritual heritage and growing wine scene. On arrival, we check in to the hotel and freshen up before continuing to Trimbak to visit the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve sacred shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. We take in the temple’s architecture and the serene atmosphere as we observe the rituals.We then explore the Panchvati temple complex, including the Kalaram Temple and Sita Gufa, followed by the ancient Pandavleni caves, where carvings and inscriptions offer insight into the region’s Buddhist history. Later, we visit a respected local winery to learn about Nashik’s wine culture – you can sample a selection of locally produced wines.Return to the hotel to relax after a full day of discovery. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 - Nashik
Nashik – Aurangabad (170 km – 4 hours) We drive from Nashik to Aurangabad, pausing en route at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ellora Caves, famed for their rock-cut shrines, temples and monasteries representing multiple faiths. We explore the highlights, including the Kailasa Temple – the world’s largest monolithic structure – and its intricate carvings. We then visit the Grishneshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, before continuing to the imposing Daulatabad Fort. We ascend to the summit for panoramic views and insight into its strategic significance. After a full day of exploration, we check in at our hotel in Aurangabad and unwind. Overnight in Aurangabad.
Day 5 - Aurangabad - Ajanta
After breakfast in Aurangabad, we drive around 100 km – approximately two hours each way – to the UNESCO World Heritage Ajanta Caves. Here we explore intricately carved Buddhist sanctuaries and exquisite murals dating from the 2nd century BCE that depict episodes from the life and teachings of the Buddha. Returning to Aurangabad in the afternoon, we continue on a city tour with Bibi Ka Maqbara, built in 1678 by Azam Shah as a tribute to his mother and often called the Mini Taj of the Deccan for its Mughal design and landscaped gardens with ponds, fountains and water channels. We then visit the Aurangabad Caves, a cluster of rock–cut Buddhist temples and monasteries, before concluding at Panchakki, a 17th‑century water mill set within a garden complex. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 - Aurangabad
After breakfast we check out and drive from Aurangabad to Bhimashankar – about 280 kilometres, taking roughly six hours – a serene town in the Sahyadri hills. On arrival we check in and freshen up before we visit the Bhimashankar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. You may then choose to explore the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, home to varied flora and fauna, or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 - Bhimashankar - Lonavala
After breakfast we check out and drive from Bhimashankar to Mumbai via Lonavala – about 200 kilometres and approximately five hours. En route we visit the Karla and Bhaja Caves, ancient Buddhist rock–cut cave complexes renowned for their intricate sculptures and carvings. We then continue to Mumbai and on arrival check in at the hotel. The evening is at leisure – you might explore the bustling markets or fit in some last–minute shopping. Overnight in Mumbai.
Day 8 - Mumbai
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Mumbai’s international airport for your onward flight. We wish you a smooth journey ahead.
