Day 2 - Tuscany Wine Tasting & San Gimignano

Florence - Tuscany - Florence. Experience the charm of Tuscany! On the second day, embark on a day trip to the Chianti region, beginning at 9:40. This will be a group tour, led by a professional local tour leader.

Meeting Point: Our day of sightseeing starts at 09:40 in Piazza della Calza, located at Piazza della Calza 6, Florence, 50125, Italy.

Enjoy breathtaking scenery, delicious food, and renowned Tuscan wine. Our first stop will be a winery located about an hour from Florence, where you'll sample four distinct wines, including the famous Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, and Super Tuscan varieties. You’ll also taste a 30-year-old balsamic vinegar and delectable truffle extra virgin olive oil. A passionate wine producer will guide you on recognizing various flavours and refining your palate. Rest assured, this is a relaxed experience focused on enjoyment.

The second stop is at another local winery in a picturesque area known for producing the D.O.C.G. Vernaccia white wine, overlooking the renowned towers of San Gimignano. Here, winemakers will take you through the vineyards and cellars, sharing secrets of wine and oil production along with tips on perfect wine and food pairings. You'll savour three wines, including the famous Vernaccia white, a rosé, and a Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. There will also be an opportunity to purchase local products and wines at attractive prices to take home or send to loved ones.

In the afternoon, you’ll have time to explore San Gimignano, the most beautiful medieval town in Tuscany. Wander through its narrow streets, shop in charming local stores, and admire the iconic skyline of towers while enjoying gelato from a world-famous gelateria. Your tour leader will provide maps and recommendations on the best places to visit. Returning to Florence for the evening, you can dine at recommended restaurants or bars or enjoy a relaxing night in.
