Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Rome!

Upon arrival in Rome, make your way to the accommodation in the city centre. Depending on the time you arrive, you may have some free time to explore independently. Meet your tour leader and fellow travellers at 5 PM in the reception of the hotel, where you will have a welcome briefing.

Afterward, we will embark on a walking tour of Rome, passing through historic streets to see the iconic Colosseum and its grand exterior. Later, we will enjoy an included welcome dinner, where you will be able to get to know your fellow travellers.

Please note: This tour is designed for younger travellers looking for a backpacker-style experience and to meet like-minded people. The average age on this tour is around 21 - 35, and we are unfortunately unable to take any travellers over the age of 39. Day 2 - Ancient Rome & Vatican City

Rome - Vatican City - Rome. Today, we will meet our tour leader for a tour through Rome’s old city centre, where we’ll see the Spanish Steps and the iconic Trevi Fountain, so have your lucky coins ready! Then admire the impressive Pantheon, the lively Piazza Navona with its beautiful fountains, and the historic Castel Sant’Angelo, once a fortress and papal residence.

Finally, we will head to Vatican City, where you’ll have free time to explore the Vatican Museums, marvel at the Sistine Chapel, and visit the grand Saint Peter’s Basilica at your own pace.

Day 3 - Rome to Florence

Rome - Florence. This morning, you will have free time to explore Rome, enjoy some souvenir shopping, or relax at a local cafe or restaurant. Alternatively, you can make your way to some of the city's sights before the crowds arrive.

Later this evening, we will head to the train station to take a high-speed train to Florence, known as "the City of Arts". Our team will meet you at the station once you have arrived and escort you to your accommodation. After check-in, meet your fellow travellers (new travellers may join the group in Florence) and tour leader.

From there, we will set off on a walking tour to explore the Leather Market, the stunning Ponte Vecchio, and Florence’s magnificent Cathedral, before ending in one of the city's most vibrant areas. Here, we’ll enjoy an Italian Aperitivo - a local tradition where you can relax with a drink while indulging in as much food as you like. It’s the perfect way to experience the lively social atmosphere of Florence.

Day 4 - Florence at Leisure

You’ll have a full day to explore Florence at your own pace! You can enjoy some delicious gelato, visit the city’s incredible museums, stroll through its charming historic streets, and dine at fantastic restaurants to try the traditional Florentine Steak. Alternatively, you might consider taking a day trip to the beautiful Tuscan countryside, known for its wineries.

Day 5 - Florence to Venice

Florence - Venice. This morning, we’ll head to the train station to board a high-speed train to Venice. Upon arrival, our tour leader will meet you at the station and transfer you to your accommodation for check-in. Afterward, we’ll meet back up with our tour leader for a walking tour of this incredible city, where we’ll discover the impressive canals, gondolas, churches, bridges, and Renaissance palaces that make Venice feel like a step back in time.

Day 6 - Venice to Milan

Venice - Milan. We will set off on our journey to Milan this morning, a vibrant city known for its rich history, fashion, and culture. Once we arrive, we’ll be awestruck by the stunning architecture of the Duomo, a masterpiece of Gothic design, and the impressive Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a luxurious shopping arcade. Milan is known for its nightlife, and your evening is free to head out for a meal and a few drinks in the buzzing Navigli district.

Day 7 - Lake Como, Bellagio & Varenna

Milan - Lake Como - Bellagio - Varenna - Milan. Today, we embark on a scenic hour-and-a-half train journey to Lake Como. Prepare to be amazed by the stunning landscapes of Lake Como, where the tranquil waters of the lake, majestic mountains, and historic monuments blend together in perfect harmony. You will have some time to explore Como at your own pace.

Next, we’ll hop on a ferry to Bellagio, where we’ll be captivated by the beautiful villas lining the shores of the lake, so be sure to have your cameras ready! Afterward, we’ll take another ferry to Varenna, giving you some free time to explore this charming town before we make our way back to Milan.

Day 8 - Milan to Turin

Milan - Turin. This morning, we embark on a high-speed train to our next destination, Turin, one of the largest cities in the world and a vibrant metropolis that never sleeps. We’ll learn everything there is to know about this city during a walking tour, exploring the city to see sights like the Roman Quadrilateral, Piazza Castello, and much more.

Day 9 - Turin at Leisure

Today, you will have a free day to explore this incredible city at your own pace. Dive into its rich history with visits to fascinating museums and admire its stunning 19th-century architecture, reflecting a unique "South Germany" style in Italy. You can explore the iconic Mole Antonelliana, home to the National Cinema Museum, stroll through the beautiful Parco del Valentino, or enjoy some shopping along Via Roma. For food lovers, don’t miss out on Turin’s famous chocolate and coffee, and take some time to relax in one of the city’s charming cafes or gelaterias.

Overnight: Turin

Day 10 - Goodbye Turin

Check out is at 10 AM this morning. You can leave your luggage at the hostel if you have time for some final exploring before you depart. Safe travels!
