Itinerary
Day 1 - Rome - Naples
Meet your assistant at Rome’s Termini Station at approximately 8:00 a.m. (an optional private transfer from centrally located hotels in Rome can be arranged). We then take a high-speed train to Naples. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore Naples at your own pace and sample the city’s renowned local cuisine, including its famous pizza. Overnight stay in Naples.
Day 2 - Naples
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin the day with a guided walking tour from Piazza del Gesù Nuovo. You will admire the striking Church of Gesù Nuovo and the nearby Monastery of Santa Chiara. Next, we visit Pignasecca, a vibrant local market filled with food stalls and clothing shops. Here, you can soak up the lively atmosphere and sample traditional Neapolitan street food. We then explore the bustling Quartieri Spagnoli – the Spanish Quarter – known for its dense network of alleys, stairways, street art and laundry hanging from balconies. The tour concludes in Naples’ monumental district, where you will see the elegant Caffè Gambrinus, the San Carlo Theatre, the Galleria Umberto and Piazza Plebiscito, with the Royal Palace as a grand backdrop. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, with optional tours available. Overnight in Naples.
Day 3 - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and be collected at around 10:00 a.m. for a transfer to Pompeii. We will take you on a guided tour of the archaeological site, where the ancient Roman city was preserved under volcanic ash following Mount Vesuvius’s eruption in 79 AD. After the visit, we transfer to Sorrento, known for its charming old town and the authentic fishing village of Marina Grande. Upon arrival, a local assistant will welcome you at the hotel to assist with check-in. Overnight in Sorrento.
Day 4 - Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento
After breakfast, depart at 7:30 a.m. for Sorrento’s port, where you will meet your guide and board a traditional Gozzo Sorrentino boat to Capri. Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic boat tour around the island with the option to visit the Blue Grotto, weather permitting. Afterwards, continue by minibus to explore the island and reach the famous Piazzetta, the vibrant centre of Capri. You will have some free time to wander and discover the island at your own pace before returning to the port for the journey back to Sorrento. Overnight in Sorrento.
Day 5 - Sorrento - Naples - Rome
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning in Sorrento to explore at your own pace or relax. Around 15:30, we transfer you to Naples where a local assistant will be on hand at the train station to assist you with boarding the high-speed train to Rome.
