Itinerary
Day 1 - Cusco - Pisac
We collect you from your hotel in Cusco at around 07:30 and drive to the Pisac area. On arrival at the Cuyo Chico Community, we receive a warm traditional welcome with local flowers. We are then introduced to the natural materials used by the community, learning how to recognise them and their cultural significance, before taking part in a practical artisanal craft activity. We continue to the Sounds of the Andes Interpretation Centre to explore the role of ancestral sounds and music in Andean culture – an insight into local traditions and heritage. We end the day in the Sacred Valley for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Urubamba - Cusco
After pick-up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley, we travel with a professional guide to the rural community of Huilloc in Urubamba province. On arrival, we take part in Kusi Runa – a traditional Inca practice centred on agricultural life (chakra). A local interpreter welcomes us and accompanies us to a community home, where we share a warm muña herbal infusion. As a gesture of integration, we are dressed in traditional Huilloc attire – ponchos for men and blankets for women – and invited to use ancestral farming tools. Following local custom, men join agricultural activities while women help prepare a meal using organic local products. The experience concludes with a spiritual ritual featuring traditional music and dance, offering an authentic insight into the Andean way of life. We enjoy a home-cooked Andean lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and served in a community member’s home. After the visit, we transfer back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley or Cusco.
