Day 1 - Seoul
Welcome to Korea! Upon your arrival in Seoul, you'll be whisked away to your hotel for some well-deserved relaxation and free time to unwind after your journey. In the afternoon, we will provide you with essential information about the start of your tour. Enjoy the excitement of beginning your Korean adventure and the convenience of having everything prepared and ready for the days ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Seoul
On our second day, we will set off early from Seoul to explore the Cheorwon region, a significant part of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that divides the two Koreas. Our journey begins with the Second Tunnel, a hidden passage secretly constructed by the North Korean army and discovered in 1975. Following this, we will visit the Cheorwon Peace Observatory, which provides sweeping views of the DMZ and glimpses of the first North Korean villages. Within the observatory, you'll find a small museum focused on the Korean War.Continuing our route, we will explore the deserted Woljeong-ri railway station before paying our respects at the Baek Ma Battle Memorial, dedicated to the French UN battalion that fought in the area. Lunch is included as part of our excursion. Our visit culminates with a stop at a local producer of Makgeolli, a traditional Korean rice liquor, where we learn about this unique beverage. We will return to Seoul by evening.Please remember to carry your passport, as it is required for the DMZ visit, which is a military zone and may close without notice. Alternative plans will be arranged if closures occur.Back in Seoul, we will head to the notable City Hall, with its impressive tidal wave-inspired architecture. Located nearby is the Deoksugung Palace, which is beautifully illuminated at night and showcases a harmonious blend of the country's traditional and modern elements. Our evening continues with a walk to Myeongdong, South Korea's largest shopping and entertainment district, known as "bright town." Dinner will be arranged at a local restaurant, and we will return to the hotel using Seoul's modern and efficient metro system (ticket included), where we will stay overnight.
Day 3 - Seoul
On the third day, we embark on an encompassing tour of Seoul spanning five hours. We'll begin our exploration at Changdeokgung Palace, a distinguished UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled amidst expansive gardens and a cluster of palatial buildings. Our journey takes us past Bukchon Hanok Village, a traditional and historic neighbourhood renowned for its charming small homes. Our next stop is the War Memorial of Korea, an impressive museum offering profound insight into the conflicts that have shaped modern Korean history, with particular emphasis on the Korean War. Here, soldiers from diverse nations fought under the United Nations' banner. Following a local lunch, we move on to the bustling Gangnam District, celebrated for its thriving shopping centres and vibrant entertainment venues. We'll then conclude our day's itinerary at the Lotte World Tower, a breathtaking skyscraper with a height of 550 metres. You’ll have some leisure time either to ascend the tower (ticket not included) or to explore the adjacent park and luxury shopping malls. Later, we will head back to the hotel, where you are free to spend the remainder of the evening as you wish.
Day 4 - Seoul - Suwon - Jeonju
On the fourth day of our journey, we will explore the rich history and cultural heritage of Korea. Our day begins with a visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace, a magnificent landmark with a history spanning over six centuries. Here, we might witness the ceremonial changing of the guard, showcasing Korea’s royal traditions. Following our palace visit, we will depart Seoul, travelling south toward Suwon. Known as the former capital of Korea, Suwon is celebrated for its impressive UNESCO-listed fortifications. We will explore these historic walls and visit Hwaseong Haenggung, the grand summer palace, where we'll also enjoy an included lunch.Our adventure continues as we make our way to Jeonju, a city renowned for its vibrant historical centre. In Jeonju's Hanok Village, you’ll discover a delightful blend of traditional houses, charming shops, and art galleries, offering an authentic taste of Korea’s rich cultural heritage.
Day 5 - Jeonju - Damyang - Haeinsa - Busan
Today, we leave Jeonju and head to Sunchang Gochujang Village, nestled at the base of Mount Amisan. This charming village, with its traditional hanok houses and courtyards brimming with clay pots known as hang-a-ri, is famed for its master artisans who produce gochujang, a renowned Korean chilli paste, using age-old methods. We'll partake in a hands-on workshop to learn the art of making this celebrated sauce. Next, our journey takes us to Damyang, where we'll roam the enchanting paths of the Juknokwon Bamboo Forest, considered among the finest for leisurely walks and mindful reflection. Here, you'll also discover a diverse selection of bamboo crafts, celebrated in spots like the local Bamboo Museum. Our included lunch will feature a local favourite: rice steamed inside a bamboo stalk. Travelling further, we find ourselves amidst the breathtaking mountain scenery and forests surrounding Haeinsa, one of Korea’s paramount Buddhist temples and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in 802, it safeguards the Tripitaka Koreana—a complete collection of Buddhist scriptures etched on 80,000 wooden tablets. Our day concludes as we continue to Busan, Korea’s vibrant second city, where we'll settle in for the night.
Day 6 - Busan
In the morning, we shall set off from Busan to visit the Haedong Yonggung Temple, a 14th-century Buddhist sanctuary spectacularly positioned by the sea. Following this, we will return to Busan to explore the UN Memorial Cemetery, a dignified resting place for individuals from various nations. We then head to Korea’s largest fish market, conveniently located by Nampo Port, where we will also enjoy an included lunch. Our adventure continues with a visit to Yongdusan Park, home to a towering 120-metre pagoda, before making our way to Songdo Beach. Here, you can take a ride on Korea’s first marine cable car (ticket included, weather permitting) to experience impressive views of the bay. Our day will wrap up at Gamcheon Culture Village, renowned for its vibrant, colourful buildings, maze-like alleyways, art galleries, pottery workshops, and charming cafés. After taking in these sights, we will return to Busan for an overnight stay.
Day 7 - Busan - Tokyo
On the seventh day, we'll facilitate your transfer to the airport for your included flight to Tokyo. Once you arrive in Japan, and after navigating the necessary border procedures, an assistant will greet you—this individual often speaks Spanish and occasionally English. You will then take a shared shuttle bus to your hotel. Following your check-in, you'll have free time to acquaint yourself with the vibrant surroundings of Tokyo at your leisure.
Day 8 - Tokyo
In the morning, we will embark on an immersive five-hour guided tour of Tokyo, a city where high-energy modernity seamlessly blends with peaceful, traditional spaces. Our first stop is the Zojoji Temple, offering a striking view of Tokyo Tower and featuring charming Jizo statues, delicately dressed with colourful accessories. We will then experience the bustling energy of Shibuya Crossing, reputedly the busiest intersection globally. Our next destination is the serene Meiji Shrine, dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, followed by a scenic drive along the sophisticated Omotesando Avenue. Our exploration continues with a glimpse of the magnificent gardens and the iconic Nijubashi Bridge of the Imperial Palace. As we proceed, we'll pass through Akihabara, a vibrant district known worldwide as the heart of Japanese manga and anime culture, and the Kokugikan Sumo Stadium, the revered venue for Japan's national sport. We'll conclude our morning excursion in Asakusa, visiting the historic Sensoji Temple and perusing the lively Nakamise Street. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant before we return to the hotel for some downtime.At 6:30 p.m., our guide will accompany us as we take the metro (tickets included) to the dynamic Shinjuku district. Here, under the neon lights, we'll wander through its lively streets filled with entertainment options. Our evening culminates with dinner at a local restaurant. Following our meal, we will make our way back to the hotel, once again using the efficient metro system.
Day 9 - Tokyo - Mount Fuji - Kawaguchiko - Tokyo
Today, we will venture into the breathtaking region surrounding Mount Fuji, journeying through enchanting landscapes that unfold along the way. Our first destination is Arakurayama Sengen Park, renowned for its stunning pagodas and the unbeatable views of Mount Fuji it affords. From here, our travels take us to Kawaguchiko, a picturesque town adorned with majestic mountains, vibrant blooms, and the serene Lake Kawaguchiko. Upon arrival, we will explore the tranquil Fuji Sengen Shrine, a spiritual place nestled among towering trees, traditionally the starting point for pilgrims ascending Mount Fuji. During our visit, we'll find a moment to reflect and appreciate the magic of this remarkable site.Included in our day's exploration is a leisurely boat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko, allowing you to fully absorb the tranquillity and beauty of the surroundings. Later, we'll ascend Mount Fuji via a scenic road to reach the Fifth Station, situated at 2,305 metres, where breathtaking forests and panoramic views await. By the end of the day, we will return to Tokyo. Please note that during winter months, the ascent to Mount Fuji may be restricted due to snow or adverse weather conditions, and we will proceed as far as conditions allow.

After a hearty breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your adventure.
