Day 1 - Madrid
Upon your arrival in Madrid, we will arrange a seamless transfer from the airport to your hotel. Once settled, you'll have leisure time to relax or explore until our tour officially commences. For details regarding the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers, please refer to the information signs in the hotel reception area. As the evening unfolds, we'll venture to Plaza Mayor and the lively neighbourhood of La Latina, famed for its vibrant nightlife and delicious tapas. You are free to choose your dining experience, with diverse options available including Indian, Chinese, Spanish, and Middle Eastern cuisines. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Madrid
On the second day of your journey, we will embark on an extensive exploration of central Madrid, showcasing some of the city's architectural and cultural highlights. Our tour will take us through the elegant Paseo del Prado, past the impressive fountains of Cibeles and Neptuno, and through iconic locations such as the Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón, and Plaza Mayor. As we venture into Retiro Park, you'll experience one of Madrid's most cherished green spaces, where we'll pause to admire the scenic lake and the stunning Palacio de Cristal.Continuing our journey through Madrid's rich sporting history, we will visit the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home to the world-renowned Real Madrid football club. Entry to the stadium is included, giving you the chance to delve into the prestigious legacy of one of the world's greatest football teams.After our guided tour, you'll have the remainder of the afternoon to enjoy the city at your own pace. In the evening, we'll conveniently bring you back to your hotel to wind down the day's adventures.
Day 3 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
We will set off in the morning, heading towards the scenic region of Aragon through the picturesque lands of Castile. Our first stop will be Zaragoza, where we will marvel at the majestic Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, an iconic landmark steeped in history and legend. Continuing our journey, we will visit the tranquil Poblet Abbey, one of the most remarkably preserved medieval monasteries worldwide—admission is included for this fascinating site. As evening approaches, we'll make our way to vibrant Barcelona, arriving in time to unwind and soak in the city’s unique ambiance.
Day 4 - Barcelona
We begin our day in the captivating city of Barcelona with a panoramic tour, showcasing why it's considered one of Europe's most intriguing capitals. Barcelona's vibrant personality is shaped by its stunning location along the Mediterranean and its rich tapestry of cultural landmarks. You'll find Gaudí's modernist architecture, the lively atmosphere of the Ramblas, and its strong historical presence, highlighted by events like the Universal Exposition and the Olympics. In the afternoon, you're free to explore the city at your own pace. As evening falls, we will transport you to Maremagnum, an inviting entertainment and dining complex by the sea, conveniently situated near Plaza de Colón. Here, you can take your time to wander around and select from a range of dining experiences available in this bustling area.
Day 5 - Barcelona - Paris
On the fifth day, we shall arrange your transfer to the station for an included high-speed train journey from Barcelona to Paris. In just over six hours, you will travel comfortably across scenic landscapes, arriving in the romantic city of Paris. Once you reach your destination, another transfer will take you directly to your hotel. In the evening, your guide will reach out, or you can simply refer to the information signs at the hotel reception to stay updated. Please note that the train journey is conducted without a guide.
Day 6 - Paris
Today we delve into the rich heritage of France with a visit to the grand Palace of Versailles, famed for its opulent gardens. Please note that entrance fees are not included. Upon returning to Paris, we'll explore Montmartre, a delightful bohemian quarter renowned for its vibrant art scene, home to painters, artists, and historic cabarets. Our day continues with a guided panoramic tour of Paris, where you’ll witness the city's impressive boulevards and celebrated landmarks. After taking in the sights, we’ll head back to the hotel. For those seeking a bit more excitement, there is an optional evening variety show to enjoy should you wish.
Day 7 - Paris
We begin our day in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this renowned iron structure, with entry tickets included in your itinerary. Following this, we'll relax on a leisurely cruise along the Seine, offering a fresh perspective of the city's celebrated landmarks over the course of roughly one hour and fifteen minutes. The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish—explore the vibrant streets of Paris at your own pace. Please note that the transfer back to the hotel is not included. If the wait time at the Eiffel Tower proves too long, we may reschedule the visit for another time or perhaps on Sunday, ensuring convenience and flexibility for your day.
Day 8 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today, we travel through the picturesque Burgundy region of France, celebrated for its stunning vineyards and exceptional wines. Our first stop is Beaune, a delightful town at the heart of Burgundy, known for its charming flower-lined streets, the historic hospice, and its fascinating wine museum. You'll have some free time here to enjoy lunch and explore the quaint surroundings at your own pace. We then continue to Lyon, once the capital of Roman Gaul, situated by the Rhône River. The historic centre of Lyon is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we’ll take a cable car up to the magnificent Notre-Dame de Fourvière, providing us with breathtaking views of the city. After taking in the sights, you will have additional free time to explore on your own. Please note that in some instances, part of the group may stay overnight in Chambéry, a nearby city. In such cases, we’ll travel to Chambéry in the evening, where you will have time the next morning to visit this medieval-style city, featuring a beautiful historic centre and an impressive castle.
Day 9 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we journey from Lyon into the captivating landscapes of Switzerland. We'll start our exploration in Geneva, where you'll see the impressive Palace of Nations, which serves as the European headquarters for the United Nations. A delightful stroll through the English Garden will allow you to admire its renowned flower clock before heading to view the majestic Jet d?Eau, Europe's tallest fountain.Post-lunch, we'll continue our travel across Switzerland, taking in the picturesque scenery of Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel. Our route will guide us through the enchanting Three Lakes region, with stunning vistas of vineyards nestled against the mountainous backdrop. We will make a stop in Neuch?tel, where you'll have the opportunity to wander along the lake, explore the historic town centre, or visit the charming 10th-century castle.Our day concludes in Zurich, where we expect to arrive by late afternoon. Please note that for trips with a larger number of passengers between Geneva and Zurich, this segment might be undertaken by train, in which case the visit to Neuch?tel will not be included.
Day 10 - Zurich
We'll begin our exploration of Zurich, the vibrant financial and cultural hub of Switzerland. Renowned for its prestigious banks, Zurich has twice been recognised for offering the world's best quality of life. Following our tour, we'll set off on a nearly two-hour cruise across the serene waters of Lake Zurich, punctuated with stops at quaint villages along the way. Our journey will lead us to the picturesque village of Rapperswil, celebrated for its impressive medieval castle. We'll then return to Zurich via train, offering you a glimpse into the punctual and efficient Swiss railway system. Please note, transfers to and from the city centre might be on public transport, depending on the number of travellers.
Day 11 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's excursion offers an array of breathtaking vistas, featuring Switzerland's majestic mountains and tranquil lakes. We will journey to the picturesque Interlaken region, renowned for its stunning natural beauty. Our first stop is Grindelwald, where we'll pause for a coffee break before embarking on an exciting cable car ride up the mountain. On arrival, a scenic walk along a winding path leads to a suspended bridge, which, for those with a sense of adventure, presents awe-inspiring views of the surrounding glaciers. A memorable lunch on the mountain is included, providing a chance to soak in the magnificent landscape.After descending, we head to the enchanting city of Lucerne, often celebrated as one of Switzerland’s most charming destinations. You will have some free time to discover Lucerne's picturesque streets and enjoy its unique atmosphere. The day concludes with our return to Zurich.Note: As an optional addition, your guide will offer a full-day excursion. Post some leisure time in Lucerne, you can take a rotating cable car up Mount Titlis. At more than 3,000 metres above sea level, the summit presents breathtaking vistas of the glacier and the Alps.
