Day 2 - Barcelona
In the morning, we take a panoramic tour of Barcelona – a Mediterranean capital famed for Gaudí’s modernist architecture, its lively Ramblas, and the legacies of the World Expositions and the Olympic Games. The tour ends at Maremagnum, the seafront leisure and dining complex beside Columbus Square, where you can stroll through this lively area. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace, and we return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 3 - Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia
We travel south along the Mediterranean coast, pausing in Peñíscola – a medieval walled town edged by beaches – where you can take a stroll. We then continue to Valencia, arriving around lunchtime. In the afternoon, we join a guided tour with a local guide of this port city on Spain’s Levantine coast, where historic monuments sit alongside the striking modern architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences. After the visit, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. We include a traditional local dinner.
Day 4 - Valencia - Alicante - Guadix - Granada
We continue south through the Valencian Community’s gentle landscapes, pausing in Alicante – a Mediterranean city of golden sands and a charming historic quarter dominated by Santa Bárbara Castle – where you’ll have free time for a stroll. We then cross the more arid scenery of Murcia with a stop en route for lunch. Entering Andalusia, our first visit is to Guadix, known for its inhabited cave houses and an old town that blends a Renaissance cathedral with traditional neighbourhoods and views towards the Sierra Nevada. We continue to Granada, arriving in the late afternoon – dinner included.
Day 5 - Granada
We’ll spend a full day in Granada. If your tour includes tickets, we’ll explore the Alhambra and its Generalife Gardens – masterpieces from the Arab era. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to discover the city at your own pace – you can visit the cathedral, which holds the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs.Important information: entry to the Alhambra is strictly controlled by law. To secure your place, we issue tickets when your tour is confirmed – you must provide accurate personal details at booking (full name and passport or ID number). Ticket costs are not refundable if you cancel. In the rare event a visit to the Alhambra is not possible, we will instead tour the Royal Alcázar of Seville, which offers similar historical and architectural significance.
Day 6 - Granada - Tangier - Asilah - Rabat
We leave Granada and follow the Costa del Sol to Algeciras or Tarifa, where we board a modern ferry to cross the Strait of Gibraltar – tickets included. You will need to carry your own luggage as the coach normally does not make the crossing. On arrival in Tangier, we continue along the coast to Asilah, a walled Atlantic town once known as a pirate stronghold – you will have time for lunch and a stroll. We then travel on to Rabat, where dinner is included.
Day 7 - Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech
This morning we take a panoramic tour of Rabat, visiting the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Around midday we continue to Casablanca for a short city tour with a local guide, including a view of the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque – one of the most important in the Arab world. We then travel on to Marrakech. On arrival at the hotel, you can opt for a traditional carriage ride to the famous Jemaa el–Fnaa square. Dinner is included.
Day 8 - Marrakech
Today we explore Marrakech – the city that gave Morocco its name. Our guided tour takes us along the city walls and into the Medina, including Jemaa el-Fnaa, the Koutoubia Mosque and the Bahia Palace – tickets included. After the visit, lunch is included, then you have free time to relax by the pool or in the hotel garden, or to browse the souks at your own pace. In the evening, you can choose to join the optional Fantasy Party.
Day 9 - Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
We set out to cross the Atlas Mountains, often with snow on the highest peaks, as we leave the palm groves of Marrakech. We pass small Berber villages clinging to deep gorges and stop at the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, well known as a film location. We then continue to Ouarzazate, noted for its impressive kasbah, before travelling through the Valley of Roses to Boumalne Dades, where dinner is included.Note – in winter, roads may close due to snow. If required, we will adjust this stage according to our alternative plan. Access to the Sahara Desert depends on road conditions.
Day 10 - Boumalne Dades - Todgha - Erfoud
We depart Boumalne Dades and head across Saharan landscapes along the Valley of the Kasbahs – palm‑lined river valleys, rocky plains that give way to oases, adobe villages and formidable fortresses. We visit the impressive Todgha Gorge, where sheer walls rise more than 100 metres. En route, we stop in a small adobe town near Khorbat to learn about a desert community supported by a foundation – access may be affected by weather, including river flooding. We continue to Erfoud. If you wish, you can join an off–road excursion to the Sahara sand dunes for sunset. Lunch is included.
Day 11 - Erfoud - Fez
We depart early from Erfoud, crossing the Atlas Mountains once more through striking gorges and wide open scenery, then traverse a high, chilly plateau where nomadic shepherds graze their flocks. We make a brief stop in Midelt before continuing into the Middle Atlas for an included lunch by a lake in a beautiful natural setting. The landscape shifts to dense forests – snow is common here in winter. Near Azrou, we visit the House of Cedars in a national park, a small museum that offers insight into the region, and we will have the chance to see lively colonies of monkeys. We then continue to Bhalil, a peaceful Middle Atlas town of colourful lanes where traditional cave dwellings are now integrated into the houses. Arriving in Fez, we pause at the Marinid Tombs for sweeping views of the old city before heading to the hotel. Dinner is included.
Day 12 - Fez - Tangier
Fez – Morocco’s cultural capital – comes to life this morning on our guided tour. We enter through the Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace and continue through the Jewish quarter, the lively souks and the Tanners’ Quarter, before finishing with an included lunch in a historic palace within the Medina. In the afternoon we travel north on a modern motorway to Tangier, arriving by evening – dinner included.
Day 13 - Tangier - Seville
Free time in Tangier – you might use the morning for some last minute shopping or a stroll. We then take the ferry back to Spain. Our coach will not be on the ferry, so you’ll need to carry your own luggage on board. We arrive in Algeciras or Tarifa and continue by road to Seville, reaching the city in the evening – dinner is included.
Day 14 - Seville
This morning we take a guided tour of Seville, taking in the cathedral and its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir River and the neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the tour, we enjoy an included boat ride on the Guadalquivir – a relaxed way to admire panoramic views of the city from the water. In the evening, you can choose to attend a flamenco tablao.
Day 15 - Seville - Cordoba - Consuegra - Madrid
We leave Seville and follow the Guadalquivir Valley to Córdoba, former capital of the Caliphate. With a local guide we visit the magnificent Mosque–Cathedral – tickets included – and explore the Jewish Quarter, noted for its narrow streets and flower‑filled patios. After lunch, we continue across Castile to Consuegra, where 12 windmills stand beside the castle overlooking the La Mancha plain; we visit the Rucio Mill before continuing to Madrid to arrive at the end of the day.
Day 16 - Madrid
After breakfast, we conclude the tour in Madrid – thank you for travelling with us, and we wish you a smooth onward journey.
