Kick off in Phuket or Khao Lak – a two day escape into Khao Sok’s jungle and lakes – and finish in Phuket or Khao Lak. Ease into the trip with a stop at Sarasin Bridge and the Tsunami Memorial, then you’ll glide by canoe along the Khao Sok River beneath towering limestone cliffs before bedding down in a luxury tented camp. Day two brings Cheow Lan Lake by longtail boat, a jungle walk with birds and butterflies, a bamboo raft to a cave, and lunch at a floating restaurant. Itinerary
Day 1 - Phanom - Phuket - Khao Lak - Khao Sok
Morning pick up from your hotel in Phuket – around 7:00 – or Khao Lak – around 9:00 – then we travel with our guide towards Khaosok. En route we make a brief stop at Sarasin Bridge to pause and visit the Tsunami Memorial Site. We continue to Khaosok for lunch at Khaosok Discovery Restaurant. In the afternoon we take a peaceful canoe ride along the Khaosok River, with opportunities to observe local flora and fauna and take in the dramatic limestone cliffs – around 45 minutes to 1 hour on the water. Afterwards we visit a scenic viewpoint for a panoramic view over Khaosok before we check in to luxury tents at Khaosok Discovery Camps. Overnight in Khaosok.
Day 2 - Phuket - Khao Lak
After breakfast, we check out and drive to Cheow Lan Lake. On arrival at the pier, we board a longtail boat to cruise the lake’s turquoise waters. We then set off on a guided jungle walk with chances to spot plants, flowers, butterflies, birds, squirrels and reptiles. A short walk brings us to 500 Rai Lake, where we take a bamboo raft across to a cave. The cave is easily accessible for children – please take care as the ground can be wet and slippery – and we spend about 30 minutes inside. Lunch is served at a floating restaurant. In the afternoon, we return by longtail boat, pausing at the Cheow Lan Lake Scenic View for photos, before driving back to your hotel – arrival in Khao Lak is around 16:00 and in Phuket around 18:30–19:30.
