
From London to Barcelona European Adventure
Begin in London and end in Barcelona on a 12–day sweep through Britain, the Low Countries and France. You’ll tick off London icons – Buckingham Palace, the Thames and the British Museum – before sailing overnight to the Netherlands for canals, windmills and Amsterdam’s cool neighbourhoods. Roll via Brussels – Atomium and Grand Place – into Paris for Versailles, Montmartre, an Eiffel Tower visit and a Seine cruise. Drift south to the Loire and Bordeaux, then to Lourdes for its evening procession. Cross medieval Carcassonne and tiny Andorra, ride the rack railway to Montserrat, and wrap up in Barcelona with Gaudí, the Ramblas and the waterfront.

Day 1 - London
Welcome to London. On arrival, we’ll arrange your transfer to the hotel – the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore nearby at your own pace. In the afternoon, please check the information boards at hotel reception for details about the start of your tour.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - London
Today we explore London on a panoramic tour with a local guide, taking in landmarks such as Parliament, the River Thames and Buckingham Palace – and, if schedules permit, the Changing of the Guard. In the evening, we’ll meet in Piccadilly for a guided stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown and Soho, known for their lively atmosphere, theatres and entertainment. You can choose from the many restaurants in the area for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 3 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
In the morning, we visit the British Museum, one of the world’s oldest museums, to explore collections spanning global cultures. Around lunchtime – after some free time – we head to Camden, renowned for its vibrant street market, where you can browse the eclectic stalls and choose lunch from food stands or small restaurants. Around 4.00 pm we depart for Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England, for a relaxed stroll through its historic streets, then continue to Harwich to board the overnight ferry to the Netherlands, with en suite cabins. Important note: ferry cabin availability is limited, so the route may be adjusted – we may travel from London to Amsterdam by daytime ferry with an overnight in Antwerp, or alternatively take a train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 4 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
Around 08:00 we arrive at Hoek van Holland in the Netherlands and travel to Volendam, a traditional fishing village. We then continue to Amsterdam for a guided tour that brings together key highlights – a classic windmill view and the Rembrandt statue, the contemporary character of the South District, and the longstanding craft of diamond cutting around Museum Square.The tour ends at the central station, where your guide will share practical tips so you can explore the city, its canals and street markets at your own pace.
Day 5 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast, we travel to Belgium – just over 200 km brings us to Brussels, the capital and home to major European institutions. Before reaching the centre, we make a brief stop at the Atomium, the city’s emblematic landmark. In the historic heart, we admire the ornate Grand Place and stroll past the Manneken Pis, a city snapshot where history and modern life meet and chocolate is part of everyday culture. In the afternoon, we continue into France, arriving in Paris towards the end of the day.
Day 6 - Paris
Today we visit the Palace of Versailles – admission not included – renowned for its remarkable gardens. Back in Paris, we head to Montmartre, the bohemian neighbourhood known for its artists and cabarets. We then take a panoramic city tour with a local guide to see the capital’s grand avenues and iconic monuments, before returning to the hotel. In the evening you can choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 7 - Paris - Tours
We begin in central Paris with a visit to the Eiffel Tower – your ticket includes access to the second floor. We then take a relaxing cruise on the Seine lasting around 1 hour 15 minutes. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore the city at your own pace. At 5:00 pm we leave Paris for the Loire Valley, arriving in Tours in the evening, where you can take a leisurely stroll and choose a spot for dinner in the historic centre.Please note that queues for the Eiffel Tower can be long, so the visit may be rescheduled to a different time – or to Sunday – if required for logistical reasons.
Day 8 - Tours - Bordeaux - Lourdes
We travel south through vineyards to Bordeaux, whose historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll have free time for lunch and to explore – consider the Port of the Moon and the Cathedral of St Andrew. We then continue towards the Pyrenees, arriving in Lourdes in the late afternoon. Here you can attend the candlelight procession, held from late March to the end of October, and visit the various places of worship. Dinner is included at the hotel.
Day 9 - Lourdes - Carcassonne - Foix - Andorra
We travel across the south of France to Carcassonne, where we allow time to explore and have lunch – the city is renowned for its medieval walls, impressive castle and historic district, La Cité. Afterwards we continue towards the Pyrenees, making a brief stop in Foix, a medieval town known for the Château de Foix. We then cross the mountains – their snowy peaks often visible all year – and enter Andorra, where Catalan is the official language. En route we stop briefly at Sant Joan de Caselles, a small Romanesque church from the 12th century, before continuing to Andorra la Vella, the capital, where you have free time to explore the bustling commercial centre or visit Caldea, the largest thermal spa in Europe. Dinner is included.
Day 10 - Andorra - Montserrat - Barcelona
Morning at leisure in Andorra — you can browse the shops or take a stroll. After lunch we travel into Catalonia through mountain scenery to Montserrat, where we take the rack railway up the mountain — included — to enjoy the views. You’ll have time to explore the sanctuary — entrance not included. We then continue to Barcelona, arriving in the late afternoon.
Day 11 - Barcelona
This morning we take a panoramic tour of Barcelona, a Mediterranean city celebrated for Gaudí’s modernist architecture, its lively Ramblas and the legacy of the World Expositions and the Olympic Games. We finish at Maremagnum – the waterfront dining and leisure complex beside Columbus Square – where you can stroll along the seafront and explore the area. The afternoon is at leisure for you to discover more of the city at your own pace. We return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 12 - Barcelona
After breakfast, we conclude our journey in Barcelona. Our services end at the hotel – please check out and make your onward travel arrangements. We hope you leave with lasting memories of your trip.
