Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris! Upon your arrival, we will arrange a transfer to your hotel, allowing you some time at your leisure. In the afternoon, you'll receive details about the start of your tour, either in person or through the information displayed at the hotel’s reception. Please be aware that as we travel, some members of the group may join or leave the tour at different points, but we assure you that the group size will remain comfortable and never exceed the maximum limit. Enjoy your free time in this enchanting city, and prepare for the exciting days ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On our second day in Paris, we delve into the nation's storied past with a visit to the illustrious Palace of Versailles. Known for its breathtaking gardens, this former royal residence offers a glimpse into France's grand history, though entry is at your own discretion. Upon our return to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a delightful bohemian district celebrated for its vibrant arts scene, including storied painters and lively cabarets. Our journey through Paris continues with a panoramic city tour led by a knowledgeable local guide, where we encounter the city's majestic boulevards and renowned landmarks. We then head back to the hotel, but should you wish to extend your evening, an optional variety show is available for you to enjoy.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
On our third day, we begin our adventure in the heart of Paris with a visit to the world-famous Eiffel Tower, where you can ascend to the second floor for breathtaking views of the city (tickets included). Following this, we’ll unwind with a tranquil cruise along the Seine River, offering a delightful perspective of the city's iconic landmarks. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your leisure, allowing you to soak up the vibrant atmosphere and historical charm at your own pace. At around 4:00 p.m., we’ll set off from Paris towards Normandy, arriving in the historic city of Rouen. Here, you’ll have free time to wander through the enchanting old town, rich with Roman history and adorned with exquisite medieval architecture. Discover the majestic Gothic cathedral and immerse yourself in the unique blend of history and culture that Rouen has to offer. Please note, if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may adjust the schedule for a more convenient visit later or on Sunday.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
This morning, we'll enjoy a leisurely walk through the heart of Rouen, a city with a rich history and stunning medieval architecture. Following our exploration, we'll set off for northern France. We'll embark on a ferry crossing over the English Channel, leading us to the historic city of Canterbury. Renowned as the ecclesiastical centre of England, Canterbury boasts a delightful blend of ancient charm and architectural beauty. After taking in the sights, we'll continue our journey to London. Upon arrival, you'll have some free time to explore the iconic Tower Bridge area, one of the city's most recognisable landmarks, before we proceed to our hotel for the evening.
Day 5 - London
Explore the vibrant city of London with us on a panoramic tour guided by a local expert. You'll experience the capital’s rich tapestry of culture and history, with visits to notable landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the serene River Thames, and the iconic Buckingham Palace, where you may catch the traditional Changing of the Guard, depending on the date. In the evening, we’ll reconvene at Piccadilly for a leisurely walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, areas celebrated for their lively ambience, theatres, and entertainment venues. Numerous dining options await you before we head back to the hotel, ensuring a delightful end to your day.
Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
On the morning of day six, we delve into history at the British Museum, exploring its vast collection detailing cultures from across the globe. As midday approaches, you’ll have free time to wander through Camden, a lively district famous for its eclectic street market, unique shopping finds, and a wide array of food stalls where you can savour a leisurely lunch. By 4:00 p.m., we’ll set off for Colchester, proudly claimed as the oldest recorded town in England. There, we’ll take a gentle stroll through its storied streets. Our journey continues to Harwich, where we’ll board a ferry for an overnight voyage to the Netherlands, resting in comfortable en suite cabins. Please be aware that due to potential cabin unavailability, alternative arrangements might include a change in travel method to Amsterdam, possibly involving a daytime ferry and overnight in Antwerp, or travel by train or air.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
After reaching the Netherlands around eight in the morning, we will start our day with a visit to Volendam, a quaint and picturesque fishing village that perfectly captures the charm of Dutch coastal life. Following our time in Volendam, we will head to Amsterdam, where a guided tour awaits us. The tour will encompass several of the city's highlights, including the iconic image of a traditional windmill, the artistic Rembrandt statue, and the contemporary elegance of the South District. Additionally, we'll witness the age-old artistry of diamond cutting at Museum Square. As we wrap up our tour, we'll leave the bus behind and embark on a stroll into the heart of the city, allowing you to soak in the vibrant atmosphere. You’ll have free time thereafter to explore Amsterdam at your own pace.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
We begin our journey today by departing from Amsterdam and making our way to Germany. Our first destination is Hamelin, a charming town in Germany renowned for its enchanting streets, which evoke the timeless tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin by the Brothers Grimm. After exploring Hamelin, we continue our journey towards Berlin. En route, we'll pass through Marienborn, a historically significant site that once marked the border dividing East and West Germany until 1990. We expect to arrive in Berlin by evening, ready to experience all that this vibrant city has to offer.
Day 9 - Berlin
Join us as we explore the vibrant heart of Berlin, Germany's dynamic capital. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, we'll embark on a coach tour that introduces you to some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including Museum Island, the distinctive silhouette of the Television Tower, and the bustling shopping streets of the city centre. Discover the poignant history behind the old cathedral, ravaged by World War II, before taking in the majesty of the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. Our exploration wouldn't be complete without a visit to the solemn yet powerful Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, both of which serve as poignant reminders of the nation’s past. After immersing ourselves in this rich tapestry of history, you'll have the afternoon to wander Berlin at your leisure. In the early evening, we'll whisk you away to the lively Kantstrasse area, where you can soak up the vibrant local atmosphere.
Day 10 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
We will travel through lush forests to reach Dresden, a city celebrated for its stunning architectural and artistic legacy, making it a must-see destination in Germany. You will have time to explore its remarkable palaces and enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the city's varied eateries. Later, we will continue our journey into the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague. Our first stop will be the lively Old Town Square, brimming with life and vibrant activities—a perfect introduction to Prague. You'll have the opportunity to dine at one of the many restaurants offering a selection of international cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian. Afterwards, we will return to the hotel for the night.
Day 11 - Prague
Today, we explore the enchanting city of Prague, famously known as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our guided panoramic tour will introduce you to the city's most remarkable landmarks. As part of the tour, we'll visit the impressive Prague Castle with admission included. Following our castle visit, we'll enjoy a delightful boat ride on the Vltava River, offering a unique perspective of the cityscape from the water. In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Prague at your leisure, visiting its charming streets and perhaps uncovering hidden gems on your own.
Day 12 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We set off early today, heading towards Bavaria, Germany. Upon our midday arrival in Munich, you'll have some leisure time to wander through the historic city centre and savour lunch on your own. In the afternoon, our journey continues to Austria. Once we reach the beautiful Alpine region, you'll have an opportunity to explore Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. Here, there's time to have dinner in the delightful area of the Golden Roof and Old Town, surrounded by charming architecture and vibrant local culture.
Day 13 - Innsbruck - Zurich
In the morning, we’ll begin our day with a visit to the Swarovski Museum, renowned for its exquisite crystal creations. You'll have the opportunity to explore the captivating gardens and discover how these stunning pieces are made. Following the museum visit, there will be free time to enjoy the surrounding area at your leisure. We then journey to Zurich, taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Tyrolean region along the way. Once in Zurich, the evening is yours to savour in the quaint historic centre by the lake. Choose from a delectable array of dining options, including Indian, Oriental, Italian, International, or traditional Swiss cuisine, ensuring a delightful end to your day.
Day 14 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's adventure takes us through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Switzerland, featuring majestic mountains and pristine lakes. We'll begin by experiencing the beauty of the Interlaken region, making our first stop in Grindelwald. Here, you can enjoy a coffee before we embark on a cable car ride up the mountain. At the top, a scenic walk along a winding path leads us to a suspended bridge. Those with a flair for adventure can cross the bridge to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding glaciers. A delightful lunch awaits us on the mountain (included), offering a unique dining experience amidst the stunning alpine scenery.After descending, we continue to Lucerne, known for its picturesque charm and vibrant cultural scene. You'll have an opportunity to wander through this beautiful city and soak in its unique atmosphere. Later, we'll return to Zurich, concluding a day filled with unforgettable Swiss sights.Please note: An optional full-day excursion is available, where after some free time in Lucerne, you can take a rotating cable car to the summit of Mount Titlis. At over 3,000 metres above sea level, this alpine summit provides awe-inspiring views of the glacier and the surrounding Alps.
Day 15 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
Today, we begin our journey from Zurich, venturing to the enchanting Alsace region in France. Our destination is Strasbourg, the capital of this picturesque area, where you can discover a unique blend of French and German cultural influences. Spend some time wandering through the city's charming streets and perhaps visit the impressive Strasbourg Cathedral. After our exploration, we will resume our travels, making our way to the vibrant city of Paris, where we will arrive in the evening.
Day 16 - Paris
As your journey concludes, enjoy a final breakfast in Paris, reflecting on the delightful experiences and cherished memories you've gathered along the way. We hope your trip has been inspiring and memorable.
