Day 1 - Exploring Bhuj
Arrive at Bhuj airport and transfer to your hotel to settle in. We begin with Aina Mahal – the Palace of Mirrors – to see its mirror work, intricate carvings and ornate architecture. We then visit Prag Mahal, an Indo–Gothic landmark with a towering clock tower and Corinthian columns. We round off the day at the Swaminarayan Temple, known for its detailed carvings, vibrant colours and spiritual motifs. Overnight in Bhuj.
Day 2 - Bhuj to Hodka
After breakfast, we drive from Bhuj to the Banni region of Kutch and Hodka – 65 km, 1.3 hours approx. En route we stop at Nirona Village to see local artisans demonstrate Rogan painting, a traditional castor oil based technique applied to fabric in vivid colours. On arrival in Hodka we check in and settle in. As evening falls, we take a short drive to the White Rann to watch sunset across the salt flats, then return to Hodka for the night – overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Sunrise at White Rann, Great Rann, Dhordo & Khavda
We start before dawn and drive from Hodka to the White Rann to watch sunrise – the vast salt flats glow as the day breaks. We then explore parts of the Great Rann, the world’s largest salt marsh, before returning to Hodka for breakfast. Later we visit Dhordo, home to the Mutwa Muslim community, to see their renowned embroidery and gain an insight into local traditions. We continue to a small Pathan community hamlet celebrated for intricate embroidery, then on to Khavda – a village known for pottery and the Samma community – where we meet artisans and observe traditional pottery-making.
Day 4 - Hodka to Mandvi
After breakfast we drive from Hodka to Mandvi – about 135 kilometres, taking roughly 3 hours. On arrival we visit the traditional wooden shipbuilding centre, where craftsmen construct impressive wooden vessels using long established techniques. We then explore Vijay Vilas Palace, noted for its ornate architecture, intricate carvings and opulent interiors, set within peaceful gardens near the coast. You’ll have free time at Mandvi Beach to unwind or stroll along the sand – stay for sunset if you wish, when the Arabian Sea glows with late afternoon light.
Day 5 - Mundra & Bhuj
Mandvi – Mundra – Bhuj (100 km – approx. 2 hours). We drive from Mandvi to Mundra to explore its renowned batik workshops, where artisans use wax‑resist dyeing to create intricate textiles – we’ll watch the process up close and speak with the makers about their craft. After the visit, we continue to Bhuj for your onward journey, with a drop at Bhuj airport for your flight.
