Itinerary
Day 1 - Delhi
Arrive in Delhi. We meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Standard check-in and check-out are at 12:00 – early check-in is subject to room availability. The rest of the day is free to relax or take care of personal activities. You can choose to go out for dinner with your driver. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Exploring Old & New Delhi
After breakfast at the hotel, we set out on a full day exploration of Delhi. In Old Delhi, we visit the Red Fort – home of the Mughal emperors for nearly two centuries until 1857 – and Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in the world built by Shah Jahan. We take a cycle rickshaw through Chandni Chowk and Khari Baoli Spice Market, where stalls brim with spices, dried fruits, silver jewellery and colourful saris, and the narrow side streets are lined with tiny shops selling essential oils, stationery and traditional sweets. We pay our respects at Raj Ghat – the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi at the site of his cremation.
In New Delhi, we visit Humayun’s Tomb – the subcontinent’s first garden-tomb – and Qutb Minar, a minaret 73 metres tall that forms part of the Qutb complex and showcases early Afghan-style architecture. We also stop at the Lotus Temple – a Bahai House of Worship open to all – before driving through the city’s ceremonial avenues, passing the President’s House, Parliament and India Gate. The remainder of the day is free – you can relax at the hotel or explore at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Delhi to Agra & Taj Mahal
Delhi – Agra (204 km – around 4 hours). After breakfast, we drive to Agra and check in to the hotel. Later, we explore Agra’s Mughal landmarks: we visit the Taj Mahal – the ivory-white marble mausoleum on the banks of the River Yamuna, commissioned in 1632 by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal and also the site of his own tomb. We continue to Agra Fort – the main residence of the Mughal emperors until 1638 – and Itmad-ud-Daula, the elegant mausoleum commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 - Fatehpur Sikri & Ranthambore
After breakfast in Agra, we drive about 245 kilometres – roughly five hours – to Ranthambore, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri, the 16th‑century former Mughal capital founded by Emperor Akbar and abandoned after about 15 years due to water scarcity. Predominantly built in red sandstone and blending Hindu and Muslim architectural styles, we explore key sites including Diwan‑i‑Khas, Jodha Bai’s Palace, Jama Masjid, the Tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal and the Buland Darwaza.
After lunch, we visit Ranthambore Fort, a 10th‑century stronghold of the Chauhan rulers known for its strategic position and massive gates, with a legend of jauhar linked to Alauddin Khilji’s 1303 siege. The complex includes temples, tanks and expansive walls. The rest of the day is free – you can unwind at the resort. Overnight at the resort.
Day 5 - Ranthambore National Park Safari
We venture into Ranthambore National Park for two wildlife drives today – one at first light and another in the early evening, when animals are typically most active. This renowned Tiger Reserve sits where the ancient Aravalli and Vindhya ranges meet and was once the private hunting ground of Jaipur’s royal family. The landscape is a mix of rugged hills and crags, open meadows, lakes and rivulets, with dry deciduous forest dominated by dhok, fig and banyan trees.
While the Bengal tiger is the star attraction, the park also supports sloth bear, leopard, caracal, jackal, fox, hyena, mongoose, the blue bull antelope, chital and sambar deer, along with rhesus macaques, langurs and an impressive variety of birdlife. Keep an eye out for basking crocodiles and listen for the alarm calls of spotted deer or the piercing cry of a serpent eagle. The 10th century Ranthambore Fort looms over the reserve, and the valleys are scattered with cenotaphs, ruins and long-abandoned settlements slowly reclaimed by nature, adding a striking historical backdrop to the safari experience. Overnight at resort.
Day 6 - Final Safari & Drive to Jaipur
After breakfast at the hotel, we head into Ranthambore National Park for a morning safari. After lunch, we check out and drive 145 km – around 3 hours – to Jaipur, the Pink City, and check in at the hotel.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore the colourful bazaars or visit the Albert Hall Museum, whose design and name were inspired by London’s Victoria and Albert Museum; its collections include metalwork, woodcraft, carpets, stone and metal sculptures, arms and weapons, natural stones, ivory goods and miniature paintings from the Bundi, Kota, Kishangarh, Udaipur and Jaipur schools. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 - Exploring Jaipur & Amber Fort
After breakfast we set out on a full day city tour of Jaipur – India’s first planned city, established in 1727 by Jai Singh II, the king of Amber, when he moved his capital to address rapid growth and water scarcity. Designed by architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya using principles of Vastu Shastra, the city was painted pink in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales – a colour now closely associated with Jaipur. With Nahargarh and Jaigarh forts and Garh Ganesh Temple on the ridge, the city makes a striking sight.
In the morning we visit Amber Fort, then continue to Jaigarh Fort and the landscaped Sisodia Rani Garden. In the afternoon we tour the City Palace, the Observatory and Hawa Mahal, and we explore the famous bazaars of the Pink City. In the evening we attend the aarti ceremony at Birla Temple. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 - Return to Delhi
After breakfast at the hotel, the morning is at leisure – you can relax or visit a place of your interest. Later, we drive to Delhi, covering approximately 265 kilometres in about five hours, and drop you directly at the airport for your onward flight.
