Worldwide Touring20Going to the gaming reserves in Botswana and Namibia and seeing the animals in the wild was spectacular. The accommodation was also very good. One of the optional extras in Namibia was going in the 4x4 wheel drive across the sand dunes and driving along the ocean which was a wonderful experience It was something beyond the tour operator's control but the roads at times were very rough and bumpy and made me feel a bit queezy.

The accommodation in general exceeded my expectations. Too many hours inside the truck without air conditioning and with no two-way radio for communicating with the guide/driver. He knows many data around the itinerary but he lacked sharing his culture, being more human, and explaining about the actual status of racism in SouthAfrica, for instance.

Perhaps finishing in Cape Town but with a two night stop at Highlanders Lodge instead of one night at Kakamas.

We loved chobe, all the tour was excellent Staying at Amanpuri travellers lodge in Swakopmund needs much to be desired. Left with insect bites, possibly bed bugs. I think an alternative accomodation would be advisable.

Chobe, an evening game drive or time to visit the game rangers & hear about Animal conservation Some days driving too long

Having said that, the tour can be shorter, even with Botswana and skipping the South African and Namibia part will do. 2. Nice to have a hotel stay bang on day 10, middle of the tour. Also a treat before the most basic night. The breakdown of the truck Cedarwood was a shock to us. Luckily it was not in a remote area and it didn't affect our itinerary much. 2. The tour guide Gift was knowledgable but he should be more enthusiastic in explaining the landscape and using the mic from the front. Quite often we couldn't hear.

The bus/truck transport needs to be updated as it had no air-conditioning or curtains to block out the hot afternoon sun. It also appeared to have little or no suspension consequently making for a very unpleasant ride in much of the trip and some arm rests were damaged.

When considering this itinerary, I would do it north bound as the first 3 days from Cape Town north were long driving days. it was cold and raining so these days were not that good. I found the standard of the vehicle wasn't great. There was no heater and it was cold for the first 3 days. (Apparently the Air Conditioning didn't work either, but as we were traveling in Aug, this wasn't an issue). Also the baggage storage units leaked so my bag was wet through one day,
