Day 1: Cairo
Saturday. Welcome to Egypt! Upon arrival in Cairo you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight - Cairo

Cairo – Aswan. Start the day with a visit to Al Jizah, the famous Giza Plateau to see the iconic pyramids and lion-headed Sphinx. Next explore the sand-strewn tombs and temples of the ancient necropolis of Saqqara, home to the Zhoser’s step pyramid.

Later, freshen up and enjoy an evening meal before catching the overnight seater train to Aswan. Rest easy and upgrade to a sleeper cabin . Overnight - Train (B)

Abu Simbel
After arrival and check in in Aswan we head off to the grand High Dam - an impressive feat of engineering which resulted in the creation of Lake Nasser. Next we enjoy a boat trip to Agilika Island where we visit the Temples of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Spend the remainder of the evening at your own leisure; shop in the colourful souqs or simply kick back and relax. Overnight - Aswan (B)
Days 4 - 5: Felucca Cruise
Aswan - Nile felucca cruise. Early birds can go on an optional air excursion to the majestic Temple of Abu Simbel. In the afternoon we board a felucca for a 2-night journey downstream the River Nile, stopping at villages and islands along the way.

Kom Ombo - Edfu - Luxor. Disembarking in Kom Ombo we visit the temple before travelling to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, a huge complex that began construction in 237 BC! We then continue to Luxor. Home of the legendary Valley of the Kings and Temple of Karnak, 4000 year-old Luxor is ancient Egypt at it’s best. Enjoy some rest and relaxation. Tonight, an optional visit to the Temple of Luxor is available alternatively, enjoy the facilities of our hotel. Overnight - Luxor (B)

Day 7: Valley of the Kings
Luxor - Cairo. Enjoy an aerial view of Egypt at sunrise with an optional hot air balloon ride before we head to the famed Valley of the Kings. Marvel at Colossi of Memnon, the massive stone remains of the temple of Amenophis III, and explore the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and surrounding tombs.

After lunch we visit the Temple of Karnak, a spectacular religious complex built on a gigantic scale, where you can lose yourself in the forest of stone papyrus columns. Later, we return to Cairo by overnight seater train. Sleeper cabin upgrade available. Overnight - Train (B)

A leisurely morning arrival is followed by a guided tour of the enlightening Egyptian Museum, where you can opt to see the famed solid gold death mask of King Tutankhamen, or the Royal Mummy room. Spend the remaining hours of the afternoon and evening at your own leisure - the Khan el-Khalili bazaar is a wonderful place to find lavish tobacco pipes, pharaonic tat, belly dancing costumes, carpets and spices. Today we cross the Suez Canal and travel on to the laid back waterfront of Dahab, our base for the next few days. With cool cafes, bars and shops, this is the perfect place to grab a bit to eat, have a drink or two, and indulge in a little retail therapy. Overnight - Dahab (B)

Days 10 - 12: Snorkelling or Mt Sinai
Dahab is a wonderful destination for diving, snorkelling and sun-worshipping, and there are a variety of optional excursions to ensure to don’t miss out, such as snorkelling at Dahab’s Blue Hole, mountain climbing to the summit of Mt Sinai and a visit to St Katherine’s Monastery. There is also time to explore the beautiful region of Sinai, and camel and jeep treks into the Sinai Desert are available locally. Check out our exciting range of 4 day dive bolt-ons. Dahab - Cairo. After breakfast we begin our journey back to Cairo, where you will be free to enjoy the rest of the day and evening your own way. Overnight - Cairo (B)
Day 14: Cairo
