Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
This morning we drive to Jaipur, affectionately known as the Pink City as Maharaja Ram Singh had all of the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan. Rest of the day at leisure.
Merry Christmas! This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Tonight we will transfer you to Chowki Dhani for dinner (payable locally).
Today we drive to the small rural village of Perharsar, walking the dusty village lanes we gain an insight into local life and traditions. Continue for hotel check in at Bharatpur and time to freshen up. Evening half day birding in Keoladeao National Park in a Rickshaw.
En route to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. In Agra, we visit the legendary Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz, who tragically died in childbirth in 1631, the Taj Mahal in Agra is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love and remains one of India’s most enduring symbols. Later, we visit the impressive Agra Fort.
This morning, we travel by express train (0830/1030 - air conditioned chair) to Jhansi and drive onward to Orchha. Situated on the banks of the River Betwa, Orchha is set amongst a wonderful complex of well-preserved 16th century temples and palaces. After sightseeing here we continue to Khajuraho (approx 5 hours)
This morning we enjoy sightseeing for a half day visit to the temples. Later you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Varanasi. Perhaps the holiest city in India; Varanasi, also known as Benares or the city of Shiva, is also one of the oldest cities on earth. Sitting on the banks of the holy River Ganges, it has been a centre of learning and civilisation for more than 2000 years and is a place of Hindu pilgrimage. Evening at leisure.
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city. At sunset consider re-visiting the ghats for the evening pilgramage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual.
Today we will transfer for your flight to Delhi (1210/1325) to catch your next flight (1510/1740) to Goa. Upon arrival into Goa this evening you will be transferred to your hotel.
Happy New Years! Sit back and relax here in this laid back coastal area of India, walk independantly along palm fringed beaches looking for shells and watching the fishermen at work, or simply kick back and relax (without vehicle).
Today we farewell Lauren and Morgan as their arrangements end after breakfast with us. The rest of you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Bangalore (1450 - 1545). Upon arrival we will transfer you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Today we drive to Mysore the land of magnificent palaces and beautiful gardens. Mysore has still an old world charm which have not given way to modern amenities. Arrive Mysore and hotel check in - rest of the day at leisure.
Today we drive to Ooty. Ooty also known as Udhagamandalam is the "Queen of hill stations" and the capital of Nilgiris district. It is one of the most popular tourist resorts in India. Nilgiris means "Blue Mountains". It is a land of picturesque picnic spots. Used to be popular summer and weekend getaway for the Britishers during thecolonial days. It is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level. Arrive Ooty and transfer you to your hotel. At leisure.
Enjoy a toy train ride to Connoor. We will collect you and return to Ooty for a free afternoon.
This commercial city, also called “The Queen of the Arabian Sea” is famous for its exquisite designer Gold Jewellery. The touring today includes the visit to Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese for a local King in 1555 A.D. The famous Jew Street, a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568. After a free afternoon, this evening we will take you to see Kathkali dances.
This morning we journey by road where you’ll board a traditional Keralan rice boat for a journey through the backwaters in and around Allapuzha (Alleppey). The boat will cross shallow, palm-fringed lakes and cruise along peaceful canals where copra and cashews are loaded onto local boats. The on-board cook will prepare locally-inspired food. Relax, read and catch some sun as the boat plies it’s route.
Disembark from the houseboat and we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Chennai. Here you will be met and transferred on to Pondicherry, arrival and hotel check in.
Today we make our way to Chennai. On the way we will visit Mahabalipuram. Then continue to Chennai for hotel check in and rest of the day at leisure.
Half day city sightseeing. Our tour of the city includes a vist to St George Fort, built in 1653 and St Mary’s Church, the oldest British church in India. This afternoon is free.
Today we bid you farewell and transfer you to the airport for your flight departing approx. 10:45 to Delhi arriving at approx. 13:25 where our arrangements end.
