Day 1: Old Delhi

Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.

Day 2: Old Delhi

Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Day 3: Old Delhi - Amritsar

We will transfer you to the train station for the train to Amritsar - Swarn Shtabadi train, air conditioned chair class, departing at 07:10, arriving 13:10. We will transfer you to the hotel and in the evening we will take you to Wagah - the only border crossing between India and Pakistan for the sunset ‘Retreat’ ceremony, where the changing of the guards & ceremonial lowering of the flags is performed with great pomp.

Day 4: Amritsar - Delhi

This morning we enjoy a city tour - including a visit to the Famous Golden Temple the seat of the Sikh religion; Amritsar is one of the Punjab’s principal cities. Built in 1803 and made of marble, copper and pure leaf gold, the temple is an amazing architectural feat. We will then transfer you to the train station for the overnight train to Delhi - Golden Temple Mail train departing at 21:00 and arriving at 12:45.


Day 5: Delhi - Ranthambhore NP

We will pick you up from the train station and transfer you the hotel to a chance to freshen up before we transfer you back tp the train station for the train to Sawai Madhopur and onward drive to Ranthambhore National Park.

Day 6: Ranthambhore NP

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. The forests around the Ranthambore Fort were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur.

Day 7: Ranthambhore NP - Jaipur

After our final morning game drive we will depart from this wonderful NP park hopefully having seen some of the elusive tigers. After you will arrive on to Jaipur 'The Pink City' enjoy some free time this evening to relax in this bustling Rajastani city.

Day 8: Jaipur

This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city.

Day 9: Jaipur - Bharatpur

After a relaxing breakfast we will head off to Bharatpur. Arriving in Bharatpur, we will check into your hotel. We will have an afternoon in Keoladeo Ghana National Park, spotting birds.

Day 10: Bharatpur - Agra

This morning we depart by car to Agra. En-route we visit the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area. We will visit Amber Fort this afternoon.

Day 11: Agra - Delhi

Today we rise early to see the Taj Mahal in its ethereal morning light. Later today we take the drive back to Delhi and en route visit the tomb of Akbar at Sikandra. Emperor Akbar started the construction of this tomb himself, which was later completed by his son Jahangir. This beautiful tomb is a grand affair built in the Indo-Saracenic style with a variety of exquisite carvings and designs covering it. On arrival into Delhi we transfer you to your hotel.

Day 12: Delhi - Darjeeling

We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Bagdogra (9W 2293 depatring at 10:50 and arriving at 13:00). On arrival in Bagdogra we will meet you at the airport and drive you to Darjeeling and check you into the hotel.

Day 13: Darjeeling

Enjoy a drive to Tiger Hill to catch sunrise over the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga - the world’s third highest mountain. Continuing, we take the toy train to the Ghoom Gompa (monastery), followed by city sightseeing.

Day 14: Darjeeling

Morning at leisure. Transferring to Bagdogra airport, we continue by air to Delhi, arriving late this afternoon (flight 9W 2294, departing at 13:35 and arriving at 15:45). You will have a room to use at the Hotel City Park Airport hotel and a car and driver at your disposal. We will transfer you to the airport late tonight for your departure flight.
