Welcome to Jordan and the start of your Christmas holiday! Arrive Amman, included transfer to hotel and overnight.

23 Dec - Amman
Amman - Jerash - Umm Qais - Amman - breakfast. Striking north, we visit the Graeco-Roman city of Jerash. Built more 2,000 years ago, Jerash is widely regarded as the best-preserved city of the Decapolis, a confederation of 10 Roman cities dating from the 1st century! Exploring the site, we’ll take in the colonnaded street, amphitheatre, nymphaeum, forum and more before continuing to Umm Qais (Gadara), a dramatic black-basalt Roman city of the Decapolis with panoramic views over the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Overnight - Amman.

24 Dec - Dead Sea
Amman - Dead Sea - Petra - breakfast. This morning we tour the citadel, Archaeological Museum and enjoy free time in the local souq before descending from the elevation of Amman to the Dead Sea for a chance to test our powers of buoyancy in the mineral-rich waters. This afternoon we stop off at Karak crusader castle en route to Wadi Musa (Petra). Overnight - Petra/Wadi Musa.

25 Dec - Xmas in Petra
Wadi Musa (Petra) - breakfast. Merry Christmas Jordan! Today we visit Petra. Accessing the hidden archaeological treasures of the Rose City on a walk through a narrow, deep siq, where the rocks finally give way to reveal the famous facade of Al-Khazneh (the Treasury), we continue our exploration. Dozens of tombs, temples, an impressive amphitheatre and a Roman colonnaded street await our discovery. Later, an Anglo-Jordanian feast at the Petra Kitchen. Xmas dinner and overnight - Petra.

26 Dec - Wadi Rum desert safari
Petra - Wadi Rum - breakfast. This morning you have the opportunity to return to the Rose City before our afternoon drive to Wadi Rum. Late this afternoon, we enjoy a 4 x 4 safari across the stunning desertscape. Tonight tuck into dinner, Jordanian-style. Dinner and overnight - Wadi Rum.

27 Dec - Mt Nebo & Madaba
Wadi Rum - Madaba - breakfast. On the morning of 27 December, a short drive leads us to the Red Sea resort town of Aqaba. Short city tour and free time to shop the markets we continue via Wadi Araba to Lot’s cave and Mt Nebo to take in panoramic views across the Promised Land. Late afternoon we reach the Muslim- Christian market town of Madaba. Overnight - Madaba.

28 Dec - Madaba
Madaba - breakfast. Famed for it’s Byzantine mosaics, including a biblically important map of the Holy Land made in the 6th century out of two million stone pieces and now housed in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, Madaba, its mosaics and quaint village shops are all there to explore. Overnight - Madaba.

29 Dec - Madaba /Amman
Madaba - Amman Airport - breakfast. Spend the morning at leisure before hotel check-out and onward transfer to airport.
