Camping Accommodation

We provide spacious, easily-erectible 2 person A-frame or dome tents with sewn-in ground sheets and fly sheet. In Africa we stay at a combination of campsites and bush/desert camps. Campsites range from well-established camps with an array of facilities that sometimes includes a bar, mini-mart or even a pool to more basic camps with few facilities and cold showers. Dependent upon our day-to-day itinerary, at times we will bush camp. That is to say, when we can’t travel any further or there is no permanent campsite in the vicinity, we will locate a suitable place and pitch camp. Bush camping on occasion allows us to return to the great outdoors and really be at one with nature. Bush camping rates highly amongst our expedition travellers.

Start of camping expedition

For expeditions (not bolt-ons) we classify day 1 as an arrival day. For these trips we also include your airport arrival transfer and the first nights accommodation at our pre-expedition hotel, hostel or campsite (included as part of the local payment you make on day one). We find most of our travellers arrive on long-haul flights, so this move provides you with a hassle free arrival into Africa. It also affords the chance for everyone to assemble in plenty of time and importantly, get a good night’s bed rest.

If requiring additional nights, please refer to the rates posted below. Whilst on the go can reserve additional accommodation on a pre or post trip basis, additional costs must be paid locally.

Nairobi - Comfort Inn

Twin share accommodation (if a solo traveller, you will likely by sharing with another traveller). Our pre-expedition meetings are held at the Boulevard Hotel and all our expeditions depart from the Boulevard Hotel. If preferring to stay there, refer to rates posted further below, request that on the go reserves accommodation for you at The Boulevard and pay the quoted rate on arrival at The Boulevard.

All rooms offer en suite facilities with shower and telephone.

Nairobi - Boulevard Hotel - 3 star locally rated

The Boulevard offers pleasant rooms with en suite facilities with bath and shower, radio, TV, telephone and tea & coffee making facilities. Guest facilities include a restaurant, bar and swimming pool.

Although day 1 accommodation is provided at the Comfort Inn for all our clients, clients are welcome to upgrade to stay at the Boulevard hotel (where the pre-departure meeting is and from where all ex Nairobi expeditions and safaris currently commence).

Victoria Falls - Tokkie Lodge

Cape Town - Ashanti Lodge

 Please note - Due to the high volume of travellers to Cape Town and Ashanti Lodge's good reputation, it is essential to pre-book all of your pre and post tour accommodation directly with them as space may be limited and walk in clients may not be accommodated.

End of Hotel/Lodge safari

On the day our expeditions finish, it is possible to stay longer at your expense at the local hotel we terminate at. We offer reasonable accommodation rates at the hotels our safaris conclude at. Your trip leader will book any post trip accommodation for you.
