Sales and Reservations Consultant
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and personable sales / reservations consultant with a passion for travel. The applicant must have travelled extensively to at least two of the following regions, ME / North Africa, Latin America, China & SE Asia, Africa, Russia and India / Sub continent. Must be computer literate and have a basic understanding of Microsoft packages. This position will involve some international travel and out of hours working!
Full - Job Specification
You will be part of a small Reservations Team with a high street location. The majority of client traffic is via agents, by phone or online. Standard working hour are between 9.00am and 6.00pm although the office is open until 11pm and we do operate a shift system. There is some weekend work as the office is open on Saturdays and out of hours promotions take place at certain times of the year.
Not everyone has a clear idea of where they’d like to go on holiday and one of your main roles as a travel consultant is to give well-informed, appropriate advice to clients about where and when to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Selling On the Go Tours product to potential and repeat clients
• Working with our travel agency partners to take orders and update their clients travel itineraries
• Arranging flights, visas and tours
• Using a booking system to secure holidays
• Collecting and processing payments
• Advising clients on travel arrangements, e.g. visas and passports
• Sending out tickets/vouchers to clients
• Keeping clients up to date with any changes to travel itineraries
• Dealing with complaints or refunds
Experience /Skills
• Must have travelled extensively to at least two of the following regions ME / North Africa, Latin America, China & SE Asia, Africa, Russia and India / Sub continent.
• At least 12 months experience working in sales / reservations environment ideally within the travel industry
• At least 2 years experience at working in a customer service environment
• Good attention to detail
• Experienced at working with Microsoft office packages with good general IT skills
• Must be literate and numerate - a writing test will be given
• Ideally must be able to speak another language
• Travel consultants starting out can expect to earn around OTE £25k - £30K but a little experience goes a long way in this business and more seasoned travel consultants can earn anything up to £35k. We also enjoy at least 1 free educational trip each year.Ssssssss
