Jokhang temple in Lhasa is similar to Mecca for the Tibetans with many of them making the pilgrimage to this sacred building. The Himalayan kingdoms of Nepal and Bhutan offer an unrivalled view into the customs, traditions and everyday living of Buddhist life.

To explore the Christian faith, a trip to Jordan is recommended as many of our tours in this area visit Mt Nebo, offering stunning views across the Promised Land, just as Moses saw long ago, and also Madaba, famous for the the oldest surviving map of the Holy land and Jerusalem. Heading on into Syria you have a chance to visit Ma’alula, where the locals still speak Aramaic the language of Christ. A tour to Jerusalem is highly recommended as home to sites of key religious importance, among them the Temple Mount, the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque.

In Cambodia, iconic Angkor Wat is not only one of Asia's most important archaeological sites, it is also reputed to be the largest religious building in the world, attracting pilgrims from around the globe.

Varanasi in India is perhaps the holiest place on the Ganges and so the city has been a cultural and religious centre in northern India for several thousand years, with many prominent philosphers, poets writers and musicians living there. Our tours give you the opportunity to learn more about the Hindu faith and witness the sandalwood funeral pyres that burn day and night, rain or shine.
