Classic Adventure Itinerary
Day 1: Beijing
Thursday. Welcome to Beijing! Arrival transfer from Beijing airport to hotel. Overnight - Beijing
Day 2: Walk the Great Wall
Travelling to Badaling, enjoy a walk (and almost a climb on some sections) on the Great Wall. Following a ridge of barren hills through northern China, it stretches as far as the eye can see - at least 6,700 km. Back in Beijing, a stroll across historical Tiananmen Square. A vision in grandeur with it’s imperial yellow roofs and vermilion walls, the Forbidden City, once forbidden to all except those on imperial business until 1911, when the last emperor, Puyi, was turfed off his throne, is a city within a city. Enjoy a guided tour through what was once the innermost sanctum of the city. Overnight - Beijing (B, L)

See the 'Costsaver' tab above, for the content of our Costsaver journey

NOTE: Schedules dictate a late afternoon arrival in Moscow on day 9. We strongly urge you to stay at least one night in Moscow to avoid the risk of missing your onward international flight.

Hotels: In Russia on the go use 3 star accommodation as classified by the Russian Ministry of Tourism. However, please be aware that the 3 star standards throughout Russia vary greatly and cannot be compared to hotels of a similar standard in Western Europe or, and in particular, the United States.

Homestays - Our homestays vary, you may be staying with a local family, couple or single person. In some cases the home owner may actually move out so that you have the house to yourself. The local homes we use are generally very simple and basic with shared bathroom facilities. Please note that if you are travelling in a larger group it may be necessary for you to stay in separate houses because most homes are small and only have room for one or two guests.

Train schedules: Trans-Siberian Railways do change their schedules from time to time, which could alter the itinerary. Please check with us at time of booking.
